The Multiplayer is where this game shines. If you have friends who you play online with, then ORC is guaranteed to give any player a good time. Bugs and graphical issues is what lets this game down, and the single player should not even be there. Overall, if you can pick this up for less than half it's price, then it is a must buy!

Quite simply an abomination to the series. Not even going to go into it. Seriously why would anyone want to relive the garbage they just waded through. The game experience was that bad I just want to forget this piece of crap ever existed.

Was Capcom under the influence when making this? The idea behind this "game" was amazing, but once you pop it in, you'll realize that this game was just filler until RE6 and that Capcom only made this game in order to expand the budget for RE6. The companion AI might aswell be non-exisistent, and the fact that I only made it through the first level and realized that is a big red flag. TheWas Capcom under the influence when making this? Resident Evil a name known by many to represent a Triple-AAA title. And so it comes as no suprise when everyone and their little brother see RE:ORC as a A title at best. But there are alot of people to play with. It blows my mind that before the release of RE:ORC I could jump right into a game with no worries what so ever but a couple people review it and the servers dry up. Enough of my RANT and get to my review.

Story: Mediocre at best you play as 1 of 6 umbrella special operatives and their is no reason to try to follow your characters story cause there isn't one. The story as a whole though is still uneventfull I really found myself wanting to skip cutscenes and that is totally unlike me im the guy who gets pissed and has to restart the game if I accedently push start during the opening of any game. But anyways you really wont miss the story because the gameplay is where it shines.

Gameplay: Gameplay is king here through the campaign and multiplayer! RE:ORC uses an exp based system to level your character up. and to purchase upgrades. You choose a character to play with and that character has different roles from medic to soldier. Each character has their own set of perks that are upgradeable and you can buy different guns with your exp. Controls are overall tight and responsive but you do find yourself from time to time struggling to kill said' licker with said' grenade launcher. But you could always use hand to hand combat wich seems to do more damage than a pistol "a patch could easily fix". Nothing is better than playing coop with your friends and this pulls it all together nicely. Multiplayer is set in several different modes in Biohazard and Team Attack its basiclly capture the flag and team deathmatch. Survivors mode is the countdown to a helicopter escape the player with the most points at the end of the match wins. And Heroes is a mode of hero's vs villians you can play as past and present heros or villians in team death match.

Graphics: The game is on par with most games today but does not set any standards like past RE games.

Final Thoughts:With all the bad and all the good can we just give this game alittle bit of a chance.

Not sure how this is scoring lower than the abomination that is Resident Evil 5 but then again I guess gears of war with zombies would be pretty popular.

I like it, it's not perfect and the AI is lacking but it's a fun game and the storyline does not get boring. As for people claiming "it has ruined the franchise" really? You must be new to resident evil because real fans will know that

The game is great, good gameplay, good graphics and sound, so why I gave it a 7? Because the name is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, an it should call just Operation Raccoon City, because 1/3 of the game is based on battling other humans shooting at you, and the other 2/3 is fighting zombies, lickers and hunters

I was hoping that in multiplayer we could have been the SPEC OPS we fight, not some people that look like civys with kevlar. The USS i was hoping would be the soldiers we saw in the first mission that were killed by G-Birkin not WOLFPACK. And yes the story was quite short but the story had very high replay value with all the things to collect and how much fun it is to just run around and kill zombies. plus, they have already released for campaign missions thru DLC and are going to release much more. As well as multiple campaign add ons there is multiplayer. The graphics were great, the co-op is fun to play with freinds, and the fast paced gameplay was a new and exciting feel to RE. So for all the idiots comparing this game to the other RE games, just stop, because its made to be different from every other RE and should not be compared with the old games. Whoever puts this game down is truly not a Resident Evil fan, and they are clearly to stupid to be happy with the new game and just got to keep complaining at every little thing they mention. All of you gave this game a bad rap for the following reasons : it's not scary like the originals; it's action packed and doesn't feel like RE; the lackluster AI; short story mode. There are probably other petty reasons, but those are the main ones. First of all, judging a game because it's not like the previous games is just bias and awful. You have to judge this as a standalone game because it's a spinoff made by another company. Second, the AI isn't even that bad - playing with other people can solve this greatly, seeing as how that's how they designed the game. The short story mode doesn't matter because it has replayability. The difficulties help with this as well. You'll always want to go through the campaign again because you get XP and you get to experience the different classes. The XP lets you unlock perks and weapons, which carry over to the versus modes, which by the way, are also very fun. SO PLEASE, DON'T LISTEN TO THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. FORM YOUR OWN OPINION.     Negatives;
-The AI team are absolute sh*t, so it's best to play co-op.
-Unlike some of the earlier RE games, this game is focused more on the action less than the actual horror.
-You can sometimes be out of your depths with the amount of enemies.
-Some of the enemies are extremely hard to take out- for example, hunters.
-Some of the levels are hard to pass, even in the early stages.

    A very great disaster.
Raccoon City is a complete disappointment. Instead there is only grusel Geballer here. The controls are so rigid that you can not aim properly until the monster is right.
The "heroes" are so flat the Action lame.
Well, that have been found in Revelations 2 to its former strength.

And my idea of a good boss fight isn't sniping some merc in the head for 10 minutes as he lobs grenades at you till command calls you off saying he isn't a priority. Or how about fighting a B.O.W. with a gattling gun who either shreds you to pieces or is to dumb to aim a bit higher to actually hit you. Versus is basically the only good point about this game. For RE fans, the campaign offers a nice slice of G-Virus infected goodness. Bringing back classic characters, locations, and enemy types, it's a nice stroll down memory lane. The game play, on the other hand, needs some serious polish. Playing the game single player can be a frustrating experience. With ally AI scripting being down-right terrible at times, with instances of allies simply standing still, receiving damage, and running into your personal line of fire, The cover mechanic also needs work, as, peeking around/over cover can lead to breaking away from the cover, and being exposed to attack, and grenades will often get stuck, at the players feet. The campaign in multi-player, eliminates the AI shortcomings, and is a genuinely enjoyable experience. The online verses modes have a lot to offer, but glitchy behavior some of the maps make certain game types frustrating. There are also some balance issues between the classes. All and all, the game is decent, at it's current MSRP, it's a better rent then investment, but with some polish, by way of updates, the game could be a nice little gem for any Resident Evil fan, and eliminate the feeling that the product may have been rushed out the door, at 80% complete. After waiting months for what seemed like a team shooter drawing on all the best of the RE series and improving on its flaws, this was disappointing in more ways than one. Poorly executed battle mechanics and cumbersome movement interface coupled with bullet-sponge enemies and set piece sequences turned what could have been something great into what could be the gaming let-down of the year.

The results ended in a bad gameboy color game, an online specific type Resident Evil game for the PS2, and an on-rail shooter for the Wii and by letting Slant Six Games take control of this project. We have another mediocre third person shooter in the market. I believe the idea sounds great. Instead of seeing Raccoon City through the eyes of a select few, watch as the outbreak is happening right then and there as Umbrella operatives try to cover up their company's mistake. But the execution falls short within the games basic ideas. You (and three other people if you choose so) will go through Raccoon City and try to eliminate all witnesses of the incident. But it doesn't take long for players to run into bugs and sloppy gameplay. While playing single player I notice that the AI for both the enemies and your squad mates are about as dumb as a bag of hammers. I have seen enemies run right into my line of fire and allies as well. This creates frustration and ultimately kills any experience the player is feeling at the moment. The actual shooting in the game feels underpowered and bland. I felt as though it didn't matter what gun I had because every gun felt to do the same amount of damage. The cover mechanic is broken as well. I found that actually taking cover works well but when in a frantic firefight this can be a downfall. There is no button you can press that allows you to switch from cover to cover. If you need to go into another area of cover, you have to usually jump into the fray (which you were trying to avoid at the time) just to go complete this task. Which, in turn, leads to death most of the time. Perhaps the most disappointing factor of Resident Evil: ORC is that the campaign somehow turns the most iconic characters, environments, and events into an uninspiring third wheel. You would think that going back into the famous police station and tunnels would be a sight for sore eyes but because the environments are so bland these areas feel lifeless and unimportant. The single player campaign is a mess but I found the most fun out of the multiplayer. I know I bashed the game so far but despite what I have said so far the game is fun at times. This fun can be found in its multiplayer. When playing with other people the game shines. Instead of killing brainless AI you have players that know what they are doing. Add along that there are zombies, lickers, and hunters roaming the areas of multiplayer, the intensity does come up. I found my favorite game mode to be a survival type game. Where you are supposed to survive until a chopper comes, since the chopper can only hold four people, it becomes a race to get there first since there is eight players total in every match. Along with Survival Mode, you have a typical death match game and some objective based modes. This is by no means a completely broken and unplayable game. But this game will satisfy many gamers. If you are looking for a game to play with three of your friends and can look past some obvious flaws then I can assure you that you will have a blast. That is why this game is deserving of a 62%. Glitches and poor game design also hurt the campaign which has good moments, but is ultimately uninspired. The competitive modes aren't too interesting either and suffer from balance issues. The characters, the story, the controls, the difficulty, and even the central premise... all of it seems to be on the right track, but none of it hits the mark.
