Remains the same to the original but is still a blast to play and one of my favourites. Downfall is the hefty price tag coming at 1800 MP but gives you 1000g to put towards your score

Oh no it's back the only reason I couldn't turn off my old Gamecube. The updated HD graphics are just icing on the cake, this is one of last generations greatest games and easily the best Resident Evil has to offer. The sluggish controls and A button firing are the only downside (but this is a 2005 game).

That being said genuine scares are a rarity and this game is packed full of them, later in the game dealing with the bio-dead I had trouble entering rooms once I heard their shuffling feet. Tons of upgrade and a game + mode that lets you replay the game with all your upgraded weapons and equipment make up for the price tag alone. Oh and my favorite part inventory management, trust me it's addictive.

The only complaint that I have is that it can be a bit too challenging at times, requiring a lot of trial and error, getting killed over and over until you finally get a part right. Regardless, I would consider this game a modern classic. Expand

I find these new enemies much more scarier than the previous zombies. This game also ditched the 3rd person tank controls and replaced it with an over the shoulder shooter experience. Back in 2005 Resident Evil 4 was the first game to ever do this. Gunplay is amazing and you can really feel the impact from the guns you will be using from the classic pistol and shotgun to the explosive rocket launcher and grenades. The boss fights, a series staple, return here but better than ever and each fight is intense and memorable. The game is very well paced one minute you will be fighting for your life in a creepy village full of crazies to racing through a mine trying to keep balance as monsters attacked you from all sides. The game is also chock full of funny cheesy B movie dialogue that will be sure to bring a grin to your face. The graphics have also aged very well by keeping that stylish Resident Evil look. The only complaint I can make for this thrilling experience is the lackluster ending and slightly clunky controls compared to today's standards. Resident Evil 4 is an experience that cannot be missed! Resident Evil 4 gets a 10/10. Expand

The game that changed it all. Got a lot of slack for not being completely graphically remade for the last generation but I don't think it needs it, it still looks great with the upres on 360/PS3.

Excited to play it all over again later this year on PS4.

Resident Evil 4 changed the way the horror series plays, going from fixed camera angles to a third-person, over the shoulder perspective. While I personally prefer the fixed camera angle perspective that gives a lot more atmosphere and tense moments, the third person view in Resident Evil 4 is backed up with brilliant controls and is a great choice for the non-zombie, Las Plagas controlled enemies.

The story starts off simple and evolves along the way, revealing past characters and just as good new ones. The boss fights are plentiful and rather challenging, especially on Professional difficulty or runs where you want to save every bullet possible. There's a great money system in place that is backed up with enemies frequently dropping Pesetas and also a huge amount of treasures which you can combine with each other in certain cases if you're patient enough to last that long without selling it and treasures you can not combine and just sell for a pretty penny if you're able to find them.

The weapons are fantastic. There's a huge amount of them to buy as you progress through the game and unlock via completing other game modes and are often tailored to the way people play. For example, you like to spray and gun down enemies quickly? Get the TMP. Want to be more precise in your pistol shots? Get the Red 9 with its attachment. It really is a well thought out array of weapons and is backed up with a huge amount of upgrades, I really have to hand it to the developers for taking a lot of time to create some brilliant weapons.

Lastly, content. You get a lot of it. This was back when you didn't have to pay for all this DLC to get an actual complete game. Resident Evil 4 comes with it's main game which will probably take you between 8-12 hours to complete on your first run, once you beat the game you then unlock Separate Ways and another mission-based game mode which are both based on a specific character in the game, with Separate Ways filling in some gaps on the main story, which I absolutely love. You also get the Mercenaries game mode where it is essentially a horde mode game type which you must survive until the time runs out which comes with an array of maps based off the main game. This a hell of a lot of game modes which comes bundled with the main game which is a fantastic bonus.

Overall, if you have not played this game, you must. It's a classic and will always be one of my favourite games of all time.

Buy it if you have not played the previous versions. It is the complete version of the game, with slightly improved graphics.

The price is extremely fair, but it ultimately tries to live only on the nostalgia it presents to players, and there's where the game falls short.

Also, Capcom is port happy as it is, and this reeks of "easy port, easy money" that Capcom is unfortunately well known for. Alright, now that those bits are out of the way, lets discuss the goods, and thankfully there are quite a few. The game feels good using the 360 controller (mind you, not as good as the Wii version and the great aiming that had). The game does look good considering it's just a slightly touched up version of the old GameCube title. And finally, it's Resident Evil 4. It get's high marks for being that alone. Resident Evil 4 is without a doubt one of the best titles in the series (and this is from someone who preferred the old-school RE2 style games). The story works fantastically with the setting, and the characters fit perfectly in the surroundings (although the voice acting is still somewhat laughable).
