JustinCoxOct 27, 2008This was the biggest waste of $15 ever on XBL (And I spend a ton of money there). I love portal. But this is just new levels stacked on top of the original game. there is absolutely no humor or that macabre humor. This should have been sold on XBL as a level pack for $5

PersePappaOct 25, 2008I think it messes the idea of whole Metacrtici that games like this are rated and ranked in the top list with regular games. It's ridiculous that this game gets over 90 points, come on guys, it's nothing but a lousy XBLA game. It's idiotic to say that XBLA games could be as good as normal games.

Aug 1, 2012Original good concept, but not much meat to it. Single player can be completed in one hour.

MichaelFOct 27, 2008Perse Pappa, is it because PSN games are horrible? The fact that you say XBLA games aren't regular games means you shouldn't be PLAYING games.. Another fun thing to mention is that this was with The Orange Box, and I bet you praised it. Portal: Still Alive is a GREAT addition to your gaming library and adds more to what we already love.

MarkRandallOct 30, 2008You can tell Perse Pappa's nipples lactate...and he hasn't played the game. This is essentially a greatest hits edition of the game...similar to Midnight Club 3's, God of War 2's, or even Lost Planet's...Is it worth 15$...unequivocally 'Yes'! Also Perse Pappa there are a lot of XBLA games that are rated high

LanceS.Nov 5, 2008This is simply an expansion onto my favorite game of last year, and i bought it because i adore portal. And dont listen to that idiot Perse Pappa. My guess is the only thing he plays are twitch shooters and Madden (not that thats a horrible thing or anything) but seriously, if you think size is what makes a game good, you need to open your f**kin eyes!

JDUBDec 2, 2008Portal rocks. anyone having problems with not being able to load your saved portal game from the Orange Box? I'm having to redo the original portal puzzles before getting to the new puzzles b/c of this problem. BUT, portal is such a cool game that I don't really mind.

-
NeilCOct 24, 2008This is one of the best games I ever played, regardless of genre. If you didn't buy the Orange Box then you should really take advantage of the opportunity to buy Portal separately - it's better than Half-Life 2 and both its episodes combined!

shaneOct 27, 2008Perse Pappa - this is not a forum. It's idiotic to think that just because a game is on xbla that i tcannot be as good as a retail release. Such an absurd comment. AND this game in particular has had an individual retail release if you bothered to make an informed comment. Awesome game and well worth the small price to pay to have it on your xbox.

JonCOct 23, 2008I got this game with the Orange Box package but i highly recommend this to anybody who doesn't have it with the Orange Box yet. I'm not into many puzzlers, but this game changed my perspective. It's extremely fun all the way through, and challenging at the end. With its great humor and addictive gameplay, this game itself deserves a ten.

RyanSDec 7, 2008Don't want to buy the Orange Box because you don't want/have Half Life and Team Fortress? Well this is for you. Portal is the best arcade puzzle game to hit the 360 this year. Get it.

Jun 27, 2016My other favorite game of the past 10..15 years. (The other is Braid.) I love this game. One of the best indie games ever released. Still replayable too.
-
Jul 10, 2011Portal is meant to play only by genius people. People that complained about this is because they cannot handle the puzzles. Never in my entire life thought about some company to put the FPS genre and fuse it with( as already said) puzzle genre. The graphics looks good and bad, but thats not necessary. The controls are great and the puzzles itself are bizarre.
-
Apr 17, 2011This is one of my all time favorite games, funny lines, puzzles that look hard until you remember you have a portal gun, greatist thing since sliced bread deserved a full release and a sequal
-
Jun 12, 2013Every once and a while a game comes along and takes everyone by surprise with its quality, Portal is one such game. Originally ported to the Xbox as part of Half Life 2: Orange Box collection its clever physics based puzzles and strange sense of humour was like nothing that had ever been seen before. Whether you like puzzlers or not Portal is a game that everyone should experience.

Jan 18, 2013AS someone who wasn't going to waste money on the orange box for a single game, this title game is wonderful for those who just want Portal. The extra maps are nice and unlike the achievements in the Orange box, these ones are actually possible to obtain by human beings.

Nov 28, 2013I have finished portal a hour ago, waw great experience, one of the best puzzle games ever, brain breaking tests for the thinking gamer, great black humor history, and the big motivation to get the cake, i still want to taste it...

Dec 17, 2019This is one of the most well written and genuinely funny video games ever made. Not much I can say about Portal that hasn't already been said. You can complete it in a few hours so if for some reason you've never played it, go do it now, you have no excuse

Jun 22, 2020This is probably one of my favorite games of all times. And i love just coming back to it and quickly playing through it from time to time usually its worth it just to hear the song at the end. I cant recommend this title enough its charming, funny and has some real brain teasers .
-
Feb 8, 2021Just Portal 2 but with less content, but it is still portal with its fun and challenging gameplay .
-
Apr 1, 2021This is a really great puzzle game. I just wish it was longer / more replayable. After you beat it the first time, which you can do in a few days, there's not much left to do. Still great though.
-
Nov 3, 2022Original, relativamente corto y divertido. Un ejemplo de cómo hacer un juego indie de gran calidad.

Apr 25, 2023Wasnt expecting Portal to hold up as well as everyone says it does, but this is genuinely a very fun time with some very well designed mechanics. This first entry does feel like a bit of a demo, with only the last chapter having any sort of challenge or interesting story beats, but its a very long chapter as well, and takes up what feels like 25 percent of the game compartively.
-
Sep 7, 2022amazing game for logic with good company and good gameplay .

Apr 5, 2023The main story is jam packed with exciting adventures and I definitely recommend this game for anyone who has an hour or two on their time to go through with this adventure.

Clever humor that'll have you chuckling for months. [Dec 2008, p.93]
-
X-ONE Magazine UKIt's easily the best puzzle game to come along in quite some time and arguably up there with some of the best we've seen within the world of videogames. [Issue#38, p.114]

Part of what makes the main Portal experience so successful is that the game draws you in quickly, subtly creates a believable world with every new room and then begins to slowly draw back the curtain. Much like a fine malt liquor, Portal sneaks up on you.
