    The fact that Peggle 2 was released earlier on the Xbox One was almost enough to make me upgrade consoles early.     The fact that Peggle 2 was released earlier on the Xbox One was almost enough to make me upgrade consoles early. I played a boatload of Peggle, the original on XBLA is one of my favourite games of all time, so naturally I was heavily anticipating this sequel.

    At first glance, it appears to be a successful sequel, but as you play through the levels, something feels wrong. The aiming input seems sticky, and delayed, and the physics seem just slightly skewed. All they really had to do was make new levels and characters built on the exact same framework, but for some reason, they seem to have soiled the magic Peggle formula.

    I can only assume that the PopCap team was pressured into splitting the campaign in half, jacking up the retail price, and planning to sell the second half of the game as DLC. You can really smell the stench of EA's greed when you finish the campaign in an hour or two, and realize there are only 5 playable characters, and the only returning hero is Bjorn... no one used Bjorn.

    Fans of the series, and similar games, will have fun. You'll probably giggle at some of the dialogue and celebrations, and you'll cheer when you hit a tricky shot... but there is still much left to be desired.

    The game is awful! It did not upgrade at all. The maps are almost the same as it was before. And I cannot play it on Xbox 360 well either, because, the game became easier and slower! It is the worst thing I have ever seen or played!

    Basically it's the original Peggle but with new characters and special moves. Nothing much was improved on or added, but if you were looking for an excuse to experience Peggle again, Peggle 2 is not a bad one.

    In this day and age, it's actually quite refreshing to see a game like Peggle 2 being released. As much as I am a fan of open-worlds and thrilling narratives, Peggle 2 offers a bright cheerful alternative to most of the games on the market today. You just have to be willing to give it a chance.
