    Well I wasn't expecting this. I grew up with fighters and football being my favorite genre. Fighters have really been in a dark place for a while. There just isn't a lot you can do for replay value for those without a great internet connection. It doesn't help that the stories in fighting games border on ridiculous. It doesn't help that the stories in fighting games border on ridiculous. Games like DOA and Street Fighter do not even try and you can see everything aside from costumes in a 30 minute play session. Well Ed Boon and company is here to show how things are done. After MK VS DC I thought Netherrealm Studios were done. Well it apparently did well because WB Games gave them infinite money to make this game and it shows. The graphics are amazing. There are over 30 fighting stages, most remakes of older ones from MK 1-3. All of the fighters are also from the first 3 games except the downloadable fighters. The 360 version does not have Kratos however. (PS3 exclusive). It plays like the MK's of old 2-D plane and all. A larger move list, special x-ray moves which look cool as hell, more special moves per fighter, and that is basically all that has been added to the fighting. It is a remake in that regard, Bit each fighters moves look a bit different and the game is nicely balanced, good enough even for tourney play. Of course the staple fatalities are back and babalities make a return as well. These have never been better or more brutal. The story mode will take a few hours to complete but it is worth the play through. The crypt is back and the unlockables are endless. There is also a new mode which is 200 (Or was it 300?) stages where certain things need to be done. No throws, fighting 2 enemies, hitting fighters when they are in the light, and so on and so forth. Some of these are very challenging and give the game variety most fighters lack. Online play is well done and the normal arcade modes are there as well. The game simply has the meat other fighters lack. It looks awesome, it is brutal, and it is fun without being difficult to master. But newbies will have to practice to beat the vets. There are some problems with it. My main problem is the animation is not as fluid as most other fighters. However it is much improved over past MK's. Also I wish their were more variety in throws and a better counter system. Each fighter only has 2 throws and the counter is more of just pushing away from the other fighter. Again like all fighters these days, the DLC was a rip off but at least they did not go the extreme's of Ark System or Capcom. As good as this is, I am a little worried about the next version. How can they top this? Also have to give them their props. Freddie Kruger was a great guest character. Bring on Injustice Netherrealm. It will be a day one buy for me.....… Expand

    one of the best fighting games this generation played it for hours and hours on end and loved every second of the game and I still play it today and will continue until it gets replaced

    Mortal Kombat for the Xbox 360 plays like an updated MK II. The game looks and plays great; it has a classic feel. This installment features a great roster, terrific modes and a ton of unlocks. The Komplete Edition includes Kenshi, Rain, Skarlet and Freddy Krueger. Unfortunately, Kratos from God of War is not in this version. Regardless, MK is a terrific fighter. While it may not offer theMortal Kombat for the Xbox 360 plays like an updated MK II. The game looks and plays great; it has a classic feel. This installment features a great roster, terrific modes and a ton of unlocks. The Komplete Edition includes Kenshi, Rain, Skarlet and Freddy Krueger. Unfortunately, Kratos from God of War is not in this version. Regardless, MK is a terrific fighter.     I don't generally play fighting games but this game makes me want to start. Everything about it is just so well done. The only reason its not a 10 is because of some technical problems and one terrible character (Sheeva). Even if your like me and don't play fighting games, buy this one. You won't regret it.

    It has a good story great gameplay great characters great controls it is amazing and so good and very fun. Overall it is a amazing game and the best in the series.

This is exactly the same as the normal version of the game, but just bundled with all of the DLC--this includes: DLC characters Skarlett, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy. It also includes all additional costumes released with the characters, as well as the classic costumes with fatalities for Reptile, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero. I've only seen a couple difference between this version and the normal version: The title screen says Komplete Edition underneath Mortal Kombat, and Quan Chi and Cyber Sub-Zero are unlocked from the get go (in the normal version these characters are unlocked via story mode). If you missed out on this game the first time around, this is a great option to get into it as you'll get everything for $60. Excellent fighting game--good amount of single player stuff to do, and it includes tag battles which can be fun with a group of friends. This is one of my favorite fighting games and I think any fighting game fan will enjoy it to some degree. If you're not a fighting game fan, this is probably your best bet for a game to just mash around in (this or Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom) and have fun.… Expand

    The AI in this game is such a pain that I had to knock 2 points off of the total score. The Ai is beyond frustrating sometimes. This game includes the best fatalities ever in MK, nice selection of characters, and a pretty waesome storyline for a brawler type game. The only problem is that the AI in the story mode become God-liek at points which make me want to break my controller.     Already playing this game on my "modded" 360. I've only been playing it for like an hour it's sorta lame, but is fun to play. Definitely not realistic which would either be too much to ask for or it might be too un- MK

    Well, I don't exactly own the "Komplete" edition, but I have all the DLC. This game is definitely fun and is my favorite 2D fighter. It's much better than Street Fighter. It's well balanced and plays great. The fatalities are awesome and the story mode is cool... Although I wish it was longer. Multiplayer is good but some people are just too good for me.     Strong reboot. Solid game. Great precision on the fight system. Well-developed characters here. Great story. But... it just doesn't add nothing to the table. Maybe that's the intention. To compensate the disappointing PS2 franchise, here we have a fresh restart that takes Mortal Kombat back to its origins.

    This game is basically no different from the original all you get is the four DLC characters a few new skins,and coupons to get the sh***ty ass movie. But its really fun but somehow they added it up to a 60$ price tag. If you have the money and you've never played the game before its worth it this game is amazing and really fun with so much stuff to do your never truly get bored

    Is a good game and the extra contents are fantastic the online multiplayer is fantastic and is optimal to play with friends specially 2vs.2. the fatalities are awesome to see and the x-ray attacks too.

    My favorite game and I love every second of this godlike game. blood and gore is more than my cup of tea, it's my thing when it comes to video games and the fatalities just leave me smiling to no end, I just adore this game!

    What can I say? Its just a great game. The fighting, the fatalities, everything in it is good. The story line is good too, but it does not really make sense, but, its still fun, very challenging though, even on easy! Get it.

Here's why.

    Pros:
    - Easy to learn, easy to master, fun, flashy and challenging.
    - Engaging Story, for a fighting game to have any story is something on it's own, but for game to have such a good and cool story which happens to be a fighting game, is plain awesome.
    - graphics, colourful fights, awesome backgrounds to watch, with something else always going on, makes it feel believe able and real.
    - the characters. There's a fair bit, but Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Raiden and Sonya being my favourites, all is awesome to play with and all feel distinctive.
    - the content or "Kontent", heaps of modes to play, from tag team matches to test your luck. Lots of stuff to unlock, like Fatalities, Concept art and costumes.
    - the gore and X ray attacks make this awesome, as it shows the most gruesome moves in slow motion with x rag vision, to see those Bone crunching animations.

    Cons:

    Ok not much new here from the previous version. Couple of new characters, new skins and i guess thats that. If Youre new to MK9 its a must have because its absolutely awesome game.

    This is a great entry in the series, but I'd prefer every single Mortal Kombat character with more than 3 fatalities. I'd also like a more put together story. But good game.

    Best Mortal Kombat game in my opinion . This is best xbox 360 fighting game in my opinion . Many good fatalities . Many cool characters . Cool graphics and amazing storyline . Best mortal kombat gameplay . Many cool cutscenes . 9/10

    In my opinion, this is the best Mortal Kombat game ever made. As an old school fan of the original trilogy, I hold them in high regard, especially Mortal Kombat II. For all these years and up until recently, I have long considered MK2 to be the best, but after playing MK11 recently and spiraling into depression due to the online requirements and demotivational grinding, I had to come backIn my opinion, this is the best Mortal Kombat game ever made. As an old school fan of the original trilogy, I hold them in high regard, especially Mortal Kombat II. For all these years and up until recently, I have long considered MK2 to be the best, but after playing MK11 recently and spiraling into depression due to the online requirements and demotivational grinding, I had to come back and re-evaluate my love for the franchise. And I have come to the conclusion that this game is indeed the best Mortal Kombat ever made. As MK is my favorite franchise of all time, this is, for me, the greatest game ever made and my all-time favorite. If I had to choose one game to play forever, this would be my immediate answer. I own the Komplete Edition on every possible platform: Steam, PS3, Xbox 360, and PS Vita, and I love them all. I will leave a review for each version, because they are basically the same game, but will add a distinct paragraph at the end for each.

    Where to start? I'll divide my praises into sub-sections:

    Graphics: Gorgeous, mind-blowing. This was my first high definition experience, the first time I bought a modern console and hooked it up to a flat-panel via HDMI. I was blown away. And the visuals still hold up, because 720p cannot be retroactively demoted from being high def, because it is and it shows. The stages are so detailed, the character models are so cool, the damage is so deliciously bloody, the fatalities look so awesome, it's just top-notch stuff all-around.

    Story: Excellent. I mean, it goes from the whole Shang Tsung Island original tournament to the golden-age of MK2, then all the way to MK3's invasion of Earthrealm... it's just so darn good. The atmosphere is there to match as the story goes along. And nearly everyone is here and part of it too. I cannot fault it and I think they rebooted it very nicely. The only thing I don't like and continue not to like is the whole "revenant" schtick. I'm sick of hearing, I'm sick of seeing it, it's dumb and it must stop. Unfortunately, it started here - but because it was new, it was okay. Should have stopped with MKX though, but nope, all the way to MK11's main storyline to the point of being the default of many characters. Kill it, please. But back to MK9, this is the most enjoyable story mode ever of them all, bar none.

    Roster: Man, isn't this the best part. Unlike every other post-MK2 entry without exception, this is the ONLY Mortal Kombat that I can move the cursor through the whole roster and not find a character I hate. No Jacqui. No Bo Rai Cho. No Hsu Hao. No Kung Jin. Kombat kids are nowhere to be found. The game is so awesome that they even managed to do the impossible, and make Stryker a cool, relatable, and likable character. And the classic outfits, wow! The ninjas look fantastic, it's amazing. Everything is just done right here. God, I really love this game, so much!

    Gameplay: This is gold. Fast-paced. Combo opportunities everywhere. There's depth, you can actually get a character, study its moves and combos and just get very good at it. Watching the pros playing this game is like watching an artist painting a masterpiece, it's beautiful and exciting.

    Sound: I prefer the older Asian atmosphere that Dan Forden so beautifully crafted, it just built this awesomely dark atmosphere that reminds you of older kung-fu movies that were lacking past the two first entries. But even MK3 had memorable tunes. While it's not bad, it's somewhat forgettable and just overall meh. But then recently I was choosing stages and pressed start on one of them. Then I heard Shao Kahn laughing. I was like, huh, something is going on here. Turns out to be a little hidden feature: if the stage is a classic MK stage, it will then play the original retro music in battle. I was so excited, this game delivers!!!

    Single-player: No grinding here and no stupid online requirements! The tower challenges are so awesome! How about test your luck, huh? I can play that for hours, so much fun! Not to mention test your sight, test your might, I mean, it's just Mortal Kombat Perfection here. Arcade ladder is a classic, just great. My only minor gripe here is with the bosses having the invincibility shield sometimes, it felt like an artificial difficulty increase to me, an afterthought. Challenge 300, Endgame, is legendary.

    In conclusion, if there is a game that would get a 10 out of 10 from me, this is it. This game single-handedly brought me back into gaming altogether.

    Xbox 360 specific: This is the version I had back in the day. At the time I did not have the PDP arcade stick, so my experience was severely hampered by the Xbox 360's atrocious d-pad, which has to be the worst one ever made. But the graphics are sharper here and this version is the only one to offer 4:3 mode, so if you ever want to stick a CRT on an arcade cabinet with this game and don't mind missing out on the PS3 exclusives, this is the one.     Todo es impresionante, pero no perfecto. Las Sumas son buenas, pero no las suficientes. Aún así, me gustó más que el original.

    Originally when Mortal Kombat 9 was made backwards compatible with xbox one, a lot of people thought that the complete edition might as well do the same. The game itself would say Complete edition but would not show the dlc fighters. WB games support knew about this and contacted Microsoft about this and were fixing the bug. It is not sure if it got fixed but some say it was patched at all.    … Expand

    my favorite mortal kombat. everything about this game is amazing expect for the balance. Basically every character is broken in a different way and there is nothing you can do about it but just play off of it but thats not horrible. if every character is broken then nothing is really broken right? this version takes away the point of the krypt but its fine in my opinion because all immy favorite mortal kombat. everything about this game is amazing expect for the balance.     Gamers who already bought the game when it came out in 2011, though, won't find enough in the "komplete" edition to justify purchasing it. However, any fighting-game fan that missed it last year shouldn't pass it by the second time around. With smooth graphics and gameplay, great controls, and excellent online multiplayer and spectacular single-player gameplay, Mortal Kombat has reclaimed its crown as the best fighting game.

    The Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition extras are a little light, but that shouldn't keep you away from picking up one of the best fighting games in recent memory. This version comes with a Skrillex-enhanced soundtrack and a voucher for the feature film. It's not as complete as it could have been, but this Komplete Edition is still worth snatching up for first time buyers!

    That being said, for those gamers who skipped the original 2011 release, Mortal Kombat Komplete is a phenomenal fighting game and well worth the $60 asking price. But for those who already own the original title there is little reason to pony up that kind of cash given that the entirety of Komplete's included DLC can be already be purchased for less than $20.
