I've played European assault and airborne from the moh series, planning to play 2010, warfighter, Frontline and rising sun
overall this game was a horrible experience for me
positives: 1- freedom in the path you choose to complete the objectives 2- graphics which is pretty good for a 2007 game 3- level design 4- weapon upgrades 5- regenerating health bar 6- introducing checkpoints

1- for a FPS shooting game you must have good shooting Mechanics, it's certainly not the case 2- bad hit detection like many times i shoot an enemy but the bullet goes like it's just air
3- the physics are just horrible
you might see a lot of positives against negatives, but for a fps shooter you must have good shooting Mechanics as i said, otherwise the game will be unplayable, it was unplayable for me for a long long time, every time i try to change my mind and play the game again, it gets even worse, it's a bad sign for me when a game force's me to look for mods to make it playable

Writing this in 2018; MoH: Airborne was probably the best shooter on '360, only Far Cry 3 was maybe better. Gunplay was, and is, unrivaled, esp with the best-in-genre and never surpassed analogue free-lean cover mechanic. Gunplay was, and is, unrivaled, esp with the best-in-genre and never surpassed analogue free-lean cover mechanic. Wolfenstein on PS4 thankfully resuscitated this much-loved feature, only you can't go prone; meaning MoH basically feels like Wolfenstein on hard, but controls a little better.

Did I say hard? Master the controls, and it becomes almost too easy, like any game with great mechanics up to the task. Two things you'll notice about the haters, 1) they never mention or use the freelean-which tells me they're playing on mouse and keyboard [it needs a controller, but with one: and this mechanic alone makes every other shooter feel clunky by comparison, it's also not a coincidence that Wolfenstein is probably the best shooter experience on PS4], and 2) they complain about how hard it is. Basically, like Far Cry V on ultra difficulty and Wolfenstein on normal and above; you're FORCED to use the cover mechanic. And that's the way it should be. This is war man, you're being shot at; if you don't find and leverage cover-you're dead. This mechanic is the essence of the gameplay really, is better than every other cover solution on the market, works 100% of the time-unlike contextual systems and is 100% skill based, meaning master this sonny, 'cause if you die in Airborne; it's your fault. So Gut good.

Faults? The game's pretty short, but the levels with their open nature; means they have a lot of replay. I certainly played the bezeezus out of this for months. Basically, EA made a choice; they could pad a game out with more content, or they could invest everything into a shorter but higher quality game. So that's what we got. Funni thing to me, are the positive reviews Wolfenstein gets next to this, because basically, if you love Wolfenstein, you might even love this more as the gunplay and movement is just a little tighter and a little better.
The open nature of the levels, the one in a hilltop town especially: were a precursor of what Far Cry 3 would become, as this is the best level in Airborne, and every Far Cry outpost basically plays like this.
One of the most criminally underrated games. It also makes me wonder; that there's probably little that's actually substantially wrong with the final two MoH games after this-as they keep the same mechanics.

In addition the health system is very well made. The game has a decent amount of authentic WW2 weapons which all had their sound recorded by their real life counterparts. The levels always start as you choosing your weapon load out (two primaries and a pistol) and jumping out of and aircraft and choosing where you want to land. Because you can choose where you want to land it is worth adding that you can also choose what objectives you attack first. Overall I love the games level design but it falls short with AI intelligence and needs more levels. It has been many years since this game was released so it's relatively cheap now and anyone who is into WW2 shooters should give it a try. Expand

Positives of this game are I'd say the tight gunplay, the fairly open levels, the interesting airdrop mechanic (even if it's just really a tiny part of the game) and - though its an even smaller thing - the partial regenerating/permanent health system.
My main complaint is it's pathetically short campaign which would make the average campaign of today's EAs games look decent in

Brilliant war game. One of the best WW2 games out there - puts Call Of Duty to shame, but COD wins because of clever mass marketing. Some of the graphics are the best of their time, and the gameplay is really realistic and intense at times. Glad I tried this one.

The team AI was really no help and it took me several dozen tries and some luck to finally clear the bridge with an M1. The BAR, a weapon I really liked in CoD, gives me the freaks, extended edition, in MoHA, sporting an unmatched inaccuracy for my understanding and leaving it pretty useless for situations like that.

I really liked the graphics and the parachuting, though obviously I have no comparison to the BF-franchise that some other reviewers claim to be more enjoyable in that field.

I only gave it a 5 because it's actually playable. When you have an achievement for "not dying" you know that the game is too hard... I play a game to have fun not to die 20 times before I finish a mission, not to mention the sloooow loading. Also, this game lags like crazy and compared to other 360 games, this definately does not have the best graphics. Also, this game is filled I only gave it a 5 because it's actually playable. Also, this game is filled with glitches, friendly AI is stupid (runs in front of you as you throw a grenade or shooting, getting lost). Just because they shout out a couple of random phrases now then again (the same three phrases) does not make them advanced if they keep getting stuck shooting at a wall. And the jump anywhere and play any class is complete bs, there is a couple points of which you can actually jump on, anywhere else results in a gangbang by ten german soldiers. It's almost impossible to play as a sniper in this game, the enemy can hit you from any distance, the only real class you can actually play is assault... Melee is also crippled and the skill jump points are completely stupid, not only are they hard enough to get to in the first place, there is ALWAYS a german guard there and if you die you have to RESTART THE WHOLE THING. As if surviving a german soldier bashing your skull in as you try to pull out your weapon isn't hard enough already, the developers decided that it won't be saved until you complete an objective, which are almost impossible to complete sometimes because your teamates get lost and you need to FIND them. The enemy AI is NOT GOOD, just because they can kill you does not make them good, cs bots on the highest difficulty can get consecutive headshots, this game is no different, enemies can hit you from anywhere with any weapon. They jump all over the place due to poor animation, one moment they're in the open and the next second they reappear behind cover. They fitted the game perfectly I thought. The german army was made up of old veterans from WW1, school boys in some instances, defeated nations from the baltic states with no will to fight, battle hardened veterens, and elite troopers.
