    Gears of war,É o jogo mais revolucionário da 7ª Geração de consoles:
    Quando pensamos em mecânicas que ditaram o mundo dos games,vem na cabeça Quick time events,Z-targeting,vida regenerativa,ou o simplesmente "Pular na cabeça de um inimigo" para mata-los,são mecânicas simples,que fazem total diferença entre um bom jogo e um jogo medíocre,anos de industria até que alguém tenha essa ideia de    Gears of war,É o jogo mais revolucionário da 7ª Geração de consoles:
    Quando pensamos em mecânicas que ditaram o mundo dos games,vem na cabeça Quick time events,Z-targeting,vida regenerativa,ou o simplesmente "Pular na cabeça de um inimigo" para mata-los,são mecânicas simples,que fazem total diferença entre um bom jogo e um jogo medíocre,anos de industria até que alguém tenha essa ideia de mecânica.
    Oque era pra ser um jogo esquecível,se tornou um dos maiores títulos do Xbox 360 e de toda a indústria,Porque?
    Por "Inventar" uma mecânica que se tornaria padrão em toda a industria,O Sistema de Cover.
    Antes disso,ao se falar em jogos de tiro,pensávamos nos grandes FPS da industria,Halo,DOOM,Half Life,Gears Of War chegou para mudar isso,trazendo um jogo ÚNICO,um TPS que daria exemplo a grandes títulos que viriam no futuro,além de um Gameplay revolucionário,trouxe a primeira amostra da Next Gen,com gráficos absurdos,mostrando o poder da Unreal Engine 3,que se tornou a Engine mais utilizada nesse console e a mais popular entre os desenvolvedores,a historia tem um ótimo "Feeling" porém não muito expressiva,era um universo grande a ser explorado,mas não usado da maneira certa,o foco fica inteiramente no "Oque esta acontecendo" do que de "Como aconteceu".
    A base dos inimigos são uma aula de como se fazer uma campanha,nada de inimigos repetidos,existem diversas formas de locusts(Inimigos do jogo) que definem o level design das fases,enquanto uns inimigos atacam de longe,outros flanqueiam,assim o jogo de instiga a nunca ficar parado no mesmo lugar matando um a um,é uma sacada inteligente para trazer desafio ao jogo,existem no total "14" inimigos,no qual são as espécies e funções dentro da Horda.
    Drones:São os inimigos comuns da Horda,usam metralhadoras e shotguns,são a maioria.
    Snipers:Usam Rifles de precisão "Longshot".
    Granadeiros:Costumam ser suicidas em situações criticas.
    Theron Guards:Usam arcos explosivos,extremamente precisos e usam "Sobre-tudo" vermelhos(Muito estiloso,por sinal)
    Krills:Não são da Horda locust,são uma espécie de morcegos e atacam apenas no escuro,devoram a vitima em segundos,sendo ela humana,ou locust(São usadas no Level Design em fases no escuro)
    Boomers:São os peso-pesados da Horda,muito resistentes e lerdos,usam lança foguetes.
    Seeders:Animais subterrâneos do Planeta,escravizados e cobertos por armaduras pelos Locusts,lançam Nemacyst* como forma de defesa.
    Nemacyst*:Os Nemacyst são basicamente lulas voadores que tentam voar e colidir com você, para que possam esguichar seu ácido semelhante a tinta em cima de você. Enquanto voam, eles deixam um rastro distinto de ácido escuro
    Berserkers:São as fêmeas dos locusts,extremamente raivosas e de ataque corpo a corpo,não fazem parte da Horda,são escravizadas pelos locusts para reprodução,sua pele é extremamente resistente logo armas convencionais não lhe causam danos,apenas fogo pode derrota-la.
    Wretches/Wretches Brilhantes:São uma espécie de animal domesticado da Horda,usado como cachorro de guerra,são extremamente ágeis e conseguem saltar a distancias sobrehumanas/Wretches Brilhantes são os mesmos que os Wretches normais,só que estão infectados por uma espécie de doença que será apresentado no LORE;Ao morrerem explodem.
    Reavers:São a montaria aérea da Horda,atiram com armas acopladas e carregam Guardas Theron em suas costas(Mostrados anteriormente)
    Corpser:Mini-chefes aracnídeos Gigantes,Outro animal subterrâneo dominados pela Horda.
    General-Raam:Chefe final do jogo;
    Depois de toda essa explicação de como são os inimigos de Gears of war,fica fácil de entender como o Gameplay FUNCIONA,e por que o game é tão aclamado por fãn e pela critica.

    O principal do jogo ao meu ver fica em relação ao multiplayer,Seria o primeiro passo para garantir uma legião de Fans com sua Gameplay unica em todo mercado,ficou em Primeiro lugar dos jogos mais jogados da Xbox Live,sendo superado apenas pelo lançamento de Halo 3,um ano depois.
    O MP consistia em batalhas 5X5 de COG Contra Locusts(Apenas os Humanoides) em batalhas
    de arenas,O jogo funcionava da seguinte forma:Todos os jogadores nasciam com as mesmas armas(Shotgun,Rifle,Smoke e Pistola) e por todo o mapa haviam armas poderosas(Snipers,Bazoocas,Arcos),uma formula simples e perfeita,isso tudo aliado a sistema de cover fazia o jogo ser único e viciante.
    O sistema de cover definiu como seria os TPS a partir de então,e grandes desenvolvedoras apostaram nessa formula,inclusive GTA IV em 2008.

    One of the best games of the XBox 360 IN. story, mechanics, level designs, the game is really nice. the characters are not bad. a tps shooter that I can recommend.

I’ve known for a long time how iconic the Gears franchise is so its been on my bucket list for a long time. So I bought Gears 1, 2 and 3 with the sole intention of sitting down and playing all 3 and eventually playing the 4th iteration as well.

    If you’re like me and have never played a Gears of War game before its a third-person cover shooter with a strong emphasis on the cover. The reason why its a strong emphasis on the cover mechanic is because although Gears isn’t necessarily the first they popularized it. Almost every Third-Person shooter post Gears of War has a cover mechanic. This makes Gears of War one of the most influential games of all time.

    This is a game that I think has aged very well. I have really enjoyed the shooting which feels tight, the cover mechanics work very well, the active reload is great and I wish more shooters would use that. I don’t know why that didn’t become popular. The story its self is okay and I look forward to playing 2 and 3 just so I can get to know the characters a little better.    … Expand

    Déjà à l'époque, ça ne m'avait pas beaucoup plu et le temps n'a rien arrangé à l'affaire, car il ne s'agit en fin de compte que d'un nouveau principe (le TPS à couverture) surexploité et repris sur bien des jeux plus tard, notamment les Mass Effect pour ne citer qu'eux (et avec quel brio pour leur part !).

    Le gros souci ne réside pas tant dans son caractère bourrin (bien au contraire)    Déjà à l'époque, ça ne m'avait pas beaucoup plu et le temps n'a rien arrangé à l'affaire, car il ne s'agit en fin de compte que d'un nouveau principe (le TPS à couverture) surexploité et repris sur bien des jeux plus tard, notamment les Mass Effect pour ne citer qu'eux (et avec quel brio pour leur part !).

    Le gros souci ne réside pas tant dans son caractère bourrin (bien au contraire) mais dans sa maniabilité pataude, son imprécision terrible à la manette (pas le choix pourtant, il est censé avoir été conçu en ce sens !) et cette phase où on doit jouer à cache-cache avec un monstre qu'on ne peut pas tuer et qu'il faut attirer à l'extérieur : un vrai calvaire.

    En effet, la caméra qui fait de la merde lorsqu'on court, l'angle de vision limité et la lenteur du gros con sont rédhibitoires. En outre, pourquoi une telle phase au juste ? le "rayon de l'aube" est déjà une belle connerie en soi mais s'il faut se taper une séance de roulades dans des salles exigües, ça devient vraiment ridicule. Pourquoi ne pas assumer le côté bourrin jusqu'au bout ? Bref, ça en fait des soucis !

    Cela dit, Gears n'est pas entièrement mauvais (en dehors du fait qu'il n'est qu'un long couloir scripté bien entendu) et le principe de la couverture reste excellent, les graphismes superbes, les effets sonores sont au poil et la VF hilarante. Si Gears s'était cantonné au jeu de gros beaufs qui tache au lieu de s'éparpiller dans des conneries de rayons et de roulades, il aurait pu être un honnête divertissement. Quel dommage !    … Expand

    Gears of War was a good game to look back on. Many saw it as a alternative to Halo on the Xbox 360 and begun a chain of competition tournaments that made a franchise over the span of a decade. For others (myself included), it was also a interesting and cool beginning for a franchise that could also deliver a fun campaign. I want to say that Gears of War had alot of problems (when lookingGears of War was a good game to look back on. Many saw it as a alternative to Halo on the Xbox 360 and begun a chain of competition tournaments that made a franchise over the span of a decade. For others (myself included), it was also a interesting and cool beginning for a franchise that could also deliver a fun campaign. I want to say that Gears of War had alot of problems (when looking to its sequels to see what improvements were needed and what was lost), but I enjoyed it as a potentially great game waiting to be unleashed when its sequel would come. I also want to say that I came late to the party years after release and through a party of competitive people, I grew a bit tired of the multiplayer despite it being the main selling point.

    The issues Gears of War had was its campaign was too short and reused too many enemies and the plot was convoluted with questions that did not answer. Multiplayer wise, P2P servers made host have the best connection and truly could annihilate whole teams by themselves if they had enough skill to prove it. It was the biggest sin the game could commit and I do not agree with veterans and fans of this game that its fair. The game also ran at 30 FPS on consoles, while PC was 60 which makes combat far too slow and it was easy to become frustrated with the input lag and slowness that its why some consider its fanbase one of the most toxic at one point.

    I want to say though that the game is still good. I love the violent bloody killing with the chainsaw Lancers, the reload active concept is very creative and a risk/reward system that works and the way co-op worked in the campaign was really fun for couch play. I do think a 7/10 means a game is good, but its potential is not fully realized and is lacking as a result. It would come to no surprise that the future titles (for the most part) improve on this and make it one of the Xbox flagships of modern day.    … Expand

    If you play 10 years later and game still look great, specially chapter in Locust's tunnels, that mean its not casual product. Music is very climate, builds mood wherever you fight against enemies. Games has a scary moments too, and also what is very positive is not so monotonous like Max Payne 3 or Judgement. I gave 8 and if you play in Remastered edition you should add one more point toIf you play 10 years later and game still look great, specially chapter in Locust's tunnels, that mean its not casual product.     Gears of War is a great game to play with friends via split-screen. The campaign is very fun and worth going through at least once. But where Gears of War lacks, is in it's multiplayer. As far as I'm concerned, it has one of the worst multiplayer modes I've played in a Triple-A shooter. I don't love this game like others do, but I do like it.

    E um dos grandes do Xbox 360 e inicio a grande franquia GOW, acho que consegue entrar facilmente nos melhores exclusivos do Xbox 360, é aquele jogo que se você tem xbox 360, você deve jogar.

    Gears of War es el mejor exponente directo de juegos de acción en tercera persona, un juego fantástico, difícil, es el juego que lo cambio todo para este genero, no invento las coberturas en tercera persona pero es el que perfecciono esta mecánica. Los enemigos son variados y agresivos, cuenta con una gran historia y para su época tenia los mejores gráficos en consola. Si tienes una XBOXGears of War es el mejor exponente directo de juegos de acción en tercera persona, un juego fantástico, difícil, es el juego que lo cambio todo para este genero, no invento las coberturas en tercera persona pero es el que perfecciono esta mecánica. Los enemigos son variados y agresivos, cuenta con una gran historia y para su época tenia los mejores gráficos en consola. Its gloomy and dreadful atmosphere, packed together with its sound effects and soundtrack will definitely manage to immerse you in the impressive world at War mood the game tries to transmit.

    Los controles de este juego son genéricos, y para ser un    Existen algunos juegos que cambian el modo en el que la industria vende, y creo este es uno de ese tipo de juegos. Visualmente innovador y bastante interesante en gran parte de sus aspectos narrativos y conceptuales, pero que lamentablemente la jugabilidad lo condena a ser un shooter bastante mediocre o no del todo sobresaliente.

    Los controles de este juego son genéricos, y para ser un shooter ofrece muy pocas cosas. Muchos vienen a este juego por la campaña, y eso no suele ser muy bueno en juegos comerciales como este ya que al final los modos de juego resultan siendo lo principal, este juego carece de ellos y los pocos que tienen son bastante monótonos y simples.

    There's a reason this games considered a classic. From the moment you not it up it pulls you into an adrenaline rush of an action title. The controls haven't aged well at all, but when you take into account when it released, the cover system was the way to go back then.     The game that defined the "third person shooter" and practically invented the "cover system". The squad following the player is a good feature (although by not something that appears first on Gears). The end Boss was excruciating and you have better been able to make that cover system sing by that time. Weapon feel is great and aiming and shooting mechanics are native to the Xbox 360 controller. The engine was really impressive and the detail unseen before. However a lot of the game featured the same muddy dark and brown undertones which wouldn't highlight the those capabilities for a large section of it. I always felt that grenades played a secondary role in the game due to the inventory controls they require; you have more options like tagging enemies with them but I thing they tend to get used less often.… Expand

    Gears of war was a next gen master piece to some back in 2006 but in 2021 the game has aged like milk, this is not the games fault itself but the onslaught of generic 3ps games that followed using similar mechanics and engines, this may be my first time playing gears of war but i feel like iv played it a million times already

    STORY: who cares you get to kill monsters ............................. OK fine you play as Doom Fenix chief guy who was court martialed for some reason ( the game never says) or dose any characterization besides the character designs and the fact that Dom and Marcus are good buddy's and watch each others backs , so yeah kill monsters save the world nut with plot holes , lots of plot holes , why was Marcus in jail ? why did only baried know they were at marcus's house , why did the resonator not work then in the same cut scene another character hacks something non chalantly making the entire mission pointless i donno and neither dose the game

    World building: the world is a little more realized than the story , enemy's interact with the world in believable ways , bats hate light and die from it , suicidy enemy's run at you and blow up , alien high honors guards , despite the locusts being neither bugs nor aliens the are a mole people that dig and have their own language and stuff it seems , but who cares what their society is or why they are trying to kill humans they are cannon fodder
    World building: 6/10

    Graphics : the game is brown and black and dark its EDGY and that's how we liked our games back in 2006 but now i had a hard time even seeing straight , this game is ugly very ugly , the scale is also off , Marcus is huge and has huge armour yet everything is bigger than him so he can take cover , only models that are any good are the character models , even the guns are awkwardly sized and shaped but for 2006 the game looks OK just ok

    Gameplay : this is a hard one for me to judge the gameplay to me was really repetitive and generic but i know this game was the first to be repetitive and generic 3rd person shooter , it popularized the cover mechanic witch iv seen done before , maybe not this well but its been done before mostly in stealth action shooters, but this is much more fluid than that with halo influenced dual stick design and a more powerful engine . the shooting is ok i guess , the shot gun was a highlight as shotguns usually are in shooters , the automatics had about as much punch as a 12 year old bully's slingshot the sniper was very situational and the triple burst gun was just awful , revolver was fun and powerful and i used it the whole game as soon as i could , bolt gun was weird but useful at times , the chainsaw was easily the coolest and clunkiest part of the game , this game takes time to get good at witch i like. checkpoints where almost always before a cut scene of story bit so if you died you would have to listen to the same dialogue over and over again until it pissed you off so much you stopped dying , i bet the coop was fun as its constantly splitting you and a partner up going down different paths and the like , over all the gameplay was good , it was definitely designed by gamers and it shows

    Sound design: voice acting was very good when a character speaks I believed what they were saying , gun sounds for the most part are good , shot gun again being the best , in 2006 there are some clever tricks , screams are louder than most other audio ( I hated this cause I was a playing late at night while every ones asleep but cant fault the game for that ) over all the audio quality was good

But it's not a bother, because I know it was one of the first ones, and it shows.
    The story and the mechanics are simple. The gameplay it's quite repetitive, but it's somehow enjoyable enough to keep you going. Yeah, maybe I couldn't play more than one act per day, but this didn't diminish my enjoyment. I played on hard mode, and boy, they meant it at that time when you selected hard mode. 2 hours of my life were spent on the last boss, because instead of a tactical shooter, it was like a clos-call puzzle game for me. One missed bullet, and my chances of beating it were done for. It was simply madness, and I wouldn't recommend hard mode if you just want to pass through the game like butter, because not only the last boss was hard, but other areas felt like I was the only one of my team who wanted to finish them.
    Speaking about teammates, they're simply retarded. I know the A.I. wasn't top notch in 2006, but I swear to you, on hard mode, they didn't make any difference. Their guns were basically shooting blanks, I bet the enemies would laugh for days in real life at what damage my teammates were dealing. They weren't funny, they were frustrating most of the times, and it lowered my emotional attachment to the characters, because I couldn't help myself but feel glad if one of these dimwits died.
    But the characters, pushing aside the gameplay, are good, not extraordinary, but good enough. What made me say this is their pure synergy, the bromance visible in every cutscene. These guys are big guns wielding hulks. You can't help but feel badass throughout your entire play.
    The world and lore is simple to understand. It had straightforward levels with little spaces to explore for collectibles and ammo supplies, but I would not advise exploration if you're not a completionist, because most areas are stale, and you would enjoy much more viewing the scenery and level design rather than seeking cog tags. If you want more details about the world, you can read the comics or simply play the other games, because they give you enough details for the main plots. That's what I very much enjoy about this game: everything about it is straight to the point, it focuses on every aspect which it presents and nails most of them. I can't say it's ambitious, but from what I've read on the web, for its time it was, so that's commendable too.
    This is one of those games with cheesy one-liners, simple plot threads and characters, and satisfying gory gunplay. I couldn't take the stress for another playthrough, but I would say the first one is essential for a modern gamer. You can see everywhere how Gears of War was one of the pioneers of the genre, and although it has flaws, it convinced me to play the sequels, and it was absolutely worth it.    … Expand

    Но Xbox 360 в то время у нас было не достать, пришлось ждать. И вот через год Gears of War выходит на PC. И........ моя GeForce 7800 летит в мусорку! Пришлось брать 8800 GTS, на X денег не хватило!
    И тут игра пошла. Да, подобного я ещё не видел, Unreal Engine 3 раскрыт по полной (вообще считаю три первых Gears of War красивейшими играми на этом движке), укрытия, оружие, кооператив!
    Управление на клавиатуре было не слишком удобным, а так просто супер!
    Ещё через год приобрёл Xbox 360, перепрошел (жаль локализации не было), и охренел снова. Оказалось на консоли она проходится ещё лучше. Я не знаю может так задумано, но. Финальный босс Раам на PC выжал из меня все соки, я погибал раз 15, наверное. На консольке же я разобрал его с первого раза! Скорее всего виновато корявое клавиатурное управление.
    Сюжет, ну сюжет типичный для игр того времени. Без вины виноватый, месть, потеря близких, боевые друзья! Но самое главное это пессонажи. От Маркуса до сих пор отказаться не могут!
    После вышли Gears 2 и 3, но написать про них мне нечего. Во второй подтянули графон и разнообразили геймплей, а в третьей ко всему этому добавилась драма.
    Но все эти игры лишь более "густые щи" заваренные в Gears of War 2006 года.
    Игру буду оценивать как версию для Xbox 360, но впечатления возьму с обеих версий.
    Недавно, в 2016, на PC вышла Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, с подтянутой графикой и всеми DLC, при том игра полностью локализована! Так, что если на Земле есть люди, которые не играли в одну из лучших игр седьмого поколения, сейчас это можно сделать на PC с не самым топовым железом. Только убедительная просьба играть только на геймпаде от Xbox 360 или one. Получите намного больше удовольствия!    … Expand

    I don't know how many games out there make you feel like a real alpha male: the only title that comes to mind is Crysis... the only title beside Gears of War. This game is soaked in testosterone, it literally flows through your screen - everything is made with one goal in mind: to make it look as badass as possible. They actually look more like aliens than humans :) The point is they look badass, their armor looks badass, their weapons look badass. But wait, there's more. I don't know if you noticed but architecture in "Gears of War" is ASTONISHING (as someone who understands nothing in architecture I came up with the "urban neoclassicism" term to describe that style ). Architecture is astonishing not only because the buildings look "cool" but also because their overall style perfectly fits the atmosphere of the world so as a result we get this completely coherent picture with immense power of immersion. Speaking of immersion: you only see HUD when you really need to see it! More game developers should implement this approach.
    Okay, I've realized it would be better to make the rest of the review in a form of a list:
    What I liked:
    - The game has no map. Thanks to the great level design you are never truly in need of one.
    - The music is **** gorgeous. No wonder it's set too loud by default - it's almost like the developer knows the music is awesome and just makes sure you won't miss it ;)
    - What else I liked is that there is no prologue, no intro, no explanation - you're just thrown into the middle of the mess and have to figure out everything on your own in the process. What is most important you really want to dig deeper into the history of the world.
    - Shaky camera. It is such a small detail but so important for the overall presentation.
    What I didn't like:
    - I was playing the game alone so I had to completely rely on AI of my companions and believe me when I tell you it is broken. They easily could just stop for no reason and you would have to move forward without them.
    - Even though the game is rather hard than easy it has no deal supplying SO MANY BULLETS throughout the game. There wasn't a single moment where I run out of ammo. They could as well just make the bullets infinite.
    - At first I wanted to say how the final boss is too hard but after I actually defeated him I realized how actually easy he is (if you know how to deal with him, of course) and that's the problem - the final boss shouldn't be so easy/simple.
    Conclusion
    Overall, I really liked Gears of War for its atmosphere and the overall design and presentation. It 100% lived up to the hype and the fact it was released in 2006 is really impressive. I didn't expect the "manliness" this game brings to the table but that's what it does: the ultimate simultator of an alpha male if you ask me, I think your father would enjoy this one. On the other hand, I am curius, what do women think of this title? Is it even possible for them to enjoy something so masculine as Gears of War?
    My rating score for Gears of War is 8 out of 10.    … Expand

    Looking at this game for the first time on an HD tv was something to behold. I got a 360 because of it and had to upgrade to an HD tv immediately. This game tho, was good without that. It's a great adventure with amazing set pieces and world. The gameplay is so satisfying and good to look at.

    Jeux joué et finis sur Xbox-one-X, l'intrigue est intéressante mais le gameplay est par moment assez bizarre ( réaction du personnage pas forcement comme on le souhaite). La durée de jeux est quand elle correcte. Malgré l'amélioration des graphisme grâce a à la rétrocompatibilité c'est quand même pas très esthétique.

    Este juego lo he disfrutado mucho, me gusta el color del filtro que usan en difrentes misiones. Por este juego fue que compre mi Xbox 360 en el 2010. Actualmente lo disfruto con la retrocompatibilidad del XS. Sin duda Gears of war 1,2,3 seguiran siendo segun mi opinion los mejores en cuanto a historia y dirección artistica. Para 2006 graficos imprecionantes para su epoca.

    Es un muy buen juego, aunque el modo historia es repetitivo y muy poco entretenido, tuve la oportunidad de jugar el online, y fue una maravilla cuando estaba vivo, actualmente ya esta super muerto y nadie lo juega, GG por su online.

A great story with lead characters modeled after the muscle-bound action stars of the 80s, honestly, the game still holds up well, even after all these years. I've heard there's a possibility that the original trilogy will be getting a full remake, as well as a new entry in the series. Fingers crossed.… Expand

    It did start a lot of things, but it's strange if you play it after you've finished a lot of other gears of war games, still a must-play tho, without any doubts.

    Fun, meaty third person shooting. One of the most satisfying combat designs in all shooters, its just so much fun to play. And there's such a weight and crunch to everything! The super macho brickhouse dudes aren't interesting, but they fill the need as vehicles of carnage.

    If you're a graphics whore, you absolutely, positively need to pick this game up. To say that Gears of War features "next-gen graphics" is a gross understatement. It's got the most impressive graphics ever seen in a video game, and the stellar art direction only makes it more beautiful.
