    Gears of War 2 takes what Gears of War did amazingly and manages to do it even better. Without taking into account the obvious graphical superiority in comparison to its predecessor, everything, from the level design and the gameplay mechanics, to the story and character development, excels the quality achieved in the first installment of the Gears of War franchise.

    The level design in    Gears of War 2 takes what Gears of War did amazingly and manages to do it even better. Without taking into account the obvious graphical superiority in comparison to its predecessor, everything, from the level design and the gameplay mechanics, to the story and character development, excels the quality achieved in the first installment of the Gears of War franchise.

    The level design in Gears of War 2 feels like it was made with a refreshed, more interactive and immersive formula. The campaign provides a wide variety of mission types, the majority of them with unique mechanics that will allow the player to experiment a far more enjoyable story mode with better engagement between the player and the environment around it. The characters, while still having the same super strong, alpha male attitude seen in the first game, show more emotion, making it easier to sympathize with them.

    The story is also more compelling, dramatic, and deeper, as it takes the narrative design presented in Gears of War even further. Some of the cutscenes in the game offer a better knowledge and backstory of the main characters, the enemies and their leader, and the war itself.

    Gears of War 2 should be an example to game developers of how a great sequel should be done. The higher-quality graphics, its better-polished gameplay mechanics, better level design, better writing and overall better direction are more than enough to consider this one of the best games available in the Xbox 360 catalogue.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If there is one thing the new gears games have been lacking imo, it's the dark, serious, and gritty atmosphere of the first 3 gears. But to me, Gears 2 is the better of the 3 when it comes to Story, Character development, gameplay, and visual tone.… Expand

    Gears Of War 2 continua tão incrível como o primeiro game da franquia, este que inovou trazendo além de uma campanha nova, novos personagens, inimigos, armas e cenários, além de trazer também mais coletáveis que em seu primeiro game, desta vez enfrentamos mais inimigos que no primeiro game se é que isso é possível, e inimigos agora melhor trabalhados, ou seja, não só mais fortes como maisGears Of War 2 continua tão incrível como o primeiro game da franquia, este que inovou trazendo além de uma campanha nova, novos personagens, inimigos, armas e cenários, além de trazer também mais coletáveis que em seu primeiro game, desta vez enfrentamos mais inimigos que no primeiro game se é que isso é possível, e inimigos agora melhor trabalhados, ou seja, não só mais fortes como mais inteligentes em dados momentos, a Epic soube aproveitar sua imaginação para criar inimigos de tamanho inimaginável, reaproveitar os que já combatemos no primeiro game e conseguir colocar tudo isso no segundo game fazendo questão de não dar trégua ou bandeira branca ao jogador, já que não há momentos longos sem a presença de um combate massivo no game! Neste título a história volta a me emocionar e a me deixar com mais raiva e vontade de matar cada vez mais Locusts pelo o que fizeram com Dom, antes fosse só este motivo, os Locust são inimigos realmente desprezíveis e que não dão paz ao jogador, do começo ao fim do game eles tentam incansavelmente frustrar o plano dos Gears e mata-los, mas no final a gente sabe quem ganha... o jogo trouxe novas conquistas e com certeza bem mais interessantes que as presentes no primeiro jogo da franquia, dando assim não só mais objetivos extras ao jogador, como pontuação na XBOX LIVE, Gears Of War 2 trouxe novas armas, veículos, imimigos, personagens, ambientes e claro, uma história! Ele foi um salto imenso em questão de qualidade ao seu primeiro game, e certamente deixou claro que este game veio para ficar, amei o primeiro jogo e o segundo não deixa a desejar, a série Gears é de fato indispensável!… Expand

    The sequel of Marcus Fenix and delta squad's journey is amazing in everything. A crazy and violent game that brings us to the heart of the enemy, the home of the Locust Horde, and it has some of the most epic scenes and moments of the franchise, a **** must have.

    Gears of War 2 is a must own for any Xbox 360 owner. It's full of emotion, cinematic moments that will indeed shock you, and still has multiplayer that's just as fun as the original.

    A Epic Games fez um otimo trabalho nesse Gears a jogabilidade se manteve o unico problema é a redução de munição que foi um ponto desnecessario, a IA ta melhor que antes e a historia bem contada

    The atmosphere is INCREDIBLE! The game has a very good combat system and it is the number one game to play for Xbox 360. I wish they made a remaster of this one as well because it is incredible. Number one game for Xbox 360.

    Gears Of War 2 is just an awesome video game, and the best shooter around. The storyline is pretty mean, and the suicide by Tai really added to the effect of how badly they were torturing people.
    Is amazing. Great buy. Masterpiece. Excellent game, honestly.

    All them goddamn years and still the best gears game, top notch character development and story arc, graphics ahead of its relative time still holds up today on xbox one x at 4k, extreme atmosphere of war, better than most actual war ganes.

    This game is amazing! It keeps the near perfect playing style from the first game while also coming up with new creative ideas. It also greatly improves on the weakest part of the first game: the story! Can't wait to try out gears 3 for the first time soon!

    Sensational game, very fun, with a fantastic game play and enemies controlled by a very good Artificial Intelligence. With good balance between enemies, there are no characters that are bullets.

    You can’t beat GoW2. This game did such a good job following up the first and it’s story hits so hard and has such good emotional beats. Yeah, this game is the ultimate couch co-op bros night game. Yeah, it’s like a B action movie set in a post apocalyptic sci-fi world. And it embraces those things so perfectly and knows what it is. But on top of that the story has heart and greatYou can’t beat GoW2. This game did such a good job following up the first and it’s story hits so hard and has such good emotional beats. Yeah, this game is the ultimate couch co-op bros night game. Yeah, it’s like a B action movie set in a post apocalyptic sci-fi world. And it embraces those things so perfectly and knows what it is.     The best experience you’ll get by gears of war.
    Yes I’ve counted also gears of war 4 and 5. Gears of war 2 manage to maintain the destroyed beauty style present in the first chapter of the saga with a incredibly increased level of lore exploration thanks to the document around the map.

    There are very few ways that Gears of War 2 could be improved on. Only the story and the final boss in particular are a slight disappointment. Fanboys will love the fact that only one of a multitude of story arcs is concluded; everyone else will feel slightly unfulfilled. But aside from this, Gears 2 is not just the most exhilarating game you'll play this year, but possibly the most heady and downright shocking piece of entertainment full stop.     We could be critical of Gears of War 2 simply offering more of the same, but the fact that it simply does everything better than the original in delivering a fantastic display of shoot-’em-up mayhem its quality simply shines through. With some awesome level design, supported by unsurpassed visuals and relentlessly entertaining action it is a compelling experience from start to finish. Forget the crack at putting emotion into the storyline; it’s almost irrelevant as Gears of War 2 is an allguns- blazing extravaganza and, as such, it’s just a glorious shooter that very few can match.
