Games Master UKJan 12, 2012There's also a sizeable RPG's-worth of game here, with an epic storyline and side-missions aplenty. [Feb 2012, p.91]
-
X-ONE Magazine UKJan 10, 2012All missions are set around a basic template, and the whole idea never evolves to the point of having any meat on its bones. [Issue#80, p.103]

Official Xbox Magazine UKJan 10, 2012Only falls short of its own grand ambitions. [Jan 2012, p.103]

Jan 6, 2012I'd say that literally more than half of the game's systems are entirely unexplained, if not completely hidden from anyone who doesn't accidentally stumble onto them. All downloadable games have a "How to Play" section, but few are as devoid of useful information at Fusion: Genesis'.

Jan 5, 2012This could have been a great game. Heck, it still is, but it is a real shame they did not put more effort into the player instructions instead of relying on the player to work things out as they went on. Despite this, if you are a fan of space trading and combat games, this will light up your night sky and deliver you hours of happy game play.
-
Dec 29, 2011Fusion: Genesis doesn't invite players to play. If you're willing to come over by yourself and invest a little time and effort in this game, it has a lot to offer. A tutorial may be the answer to a broader audience. Now only the few who persist will get a great game with an even greater universe.
-
Dec 1, 2011Fusion: Genesis is like a house made of different colored and shaped bricks, but no mortar. It's fun to play with the individual elements yet it all feels a bit unstable as a whole. Still, if you are a big fan of twin-stick shooters and space sims, and if you can overlook its faults while playing it casually, you can still get plenty of hours worth of enjoyment out of it.
-
Nov 29, 2011A surprising and admirable game, one of the best for Xbox Live Arcade this year. If you are looking for a frantic shoot'em up you should look at other games, but those willing to explore the space in a deep and engaging game will have a lot of fun.
-
Nov 21, 2011As it stands, it will take a very specific type of player to stick with the game long enough to mine its deep-buried enjoyment.
-
Nov 19, 2011Okay, so you're mostly just blasting away at anyone not wearing your current colors, but it's still plenty addictive.
-
Nov 18, 2011Fusion: Genesis is perhaps slightly overambitious, but in the end a most intriguing game about space exploration and adventure. It lacks an overall depth and the side quests are extremely boring, but we still hope it is the start of something new and exciting.
-
Nov 18, 2011Even though the game gets repetitive you're constantly receiving rewards and increasing your stats, which makes the game addictive.
-
Nov 15, 2011Fusion: Genesis is an ambitious title that is well presented, but I can't help feeling XBLA is the wrong platform for it. The slow pace of gameplay is more suited to a PC title, and the interface, which is cumbersome and unclear to navigate with a controller, would work just fine with a mouse.
-
Nov 14, 2011Had Starfire focussed on just a couple of elements rather than trying to be all things to all players, had it made the quests more varied, the progression more enticing, this could have been the start of something really special. As it stands, it's the epitome of a game trying to be a jack-of-all-trades, sadly mastering little.

Nov 14, 2011For 800 MS Points there are few better Xbox Arcade releases out there; make it your own mission to the stars.
-
Nov 10, 2011A game that resonates hard with my sci-fi nerd obsessions. It's the kind of stuff I imagine Han Solo was doing before bumping into Luke at the cantina, with a bit of a Battlestar Galactica pace and a Firefly tone.
-
Nov 10, 2011Interesting idea, this mix of space shooter, RPG and a hint of trade, which promises over 40 hours of gameplay. Some weak points though, with lacking explanations for controls and too small screen fonts being the most annoying. To wit, the story isn't that original and illogical at times. Can't compare to the Summer of Arcade's top titles, but at this price, if the genre mix appeals to you, it's still a good buy.
