As much as I hate to say it, Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Z is mediocre to say the least. in Battle Of Z you can fight in very nicely designed arenas. NOT GREAT but good. if you want it, pick it up in a sale, it is not worth the $60 price tag. Expand

Seriously? A card game of DBZ, still waiting for budokai tenkaichi 3 HD remake, it's not terrible, i'm disappointed, Let's be fair, 5/10, because it's a good game, but not for DBZ.

This game hurts. A lot. This has so much potential and when I saw the combat, I was extremely disappointed. The only reason this game gets a 2 and not a 1 is because of the potential of the open combat world, taking aspects from games like Budokai Tenkaichi and Raging Blast but making them more open and free. The big boss characters, again, have potential but when the combat is not fun (coming from someone who played previous DBZ games) the experience doesn't stick. Sometimes, the A.I. is just braindead, and when I knock an enemy away to start a chase combo they don't react. The voice acting is good, but the writing isn't my taste, not like the show. And no LOCAL MULTIPLAYER? Why? What's the point of having big boss battles if I can't play with 4 other friends locally? I know there's a new developer working on this game (and as mentioned before, the promise of this game is undeniable), and unlike others, i'm hoping for a sequel. I'm hoping that the studio can take the potential and all the mistakes from this debut game and make a really really epic game, that will stand true to what we see in the anime. This is Dragon Ball Z, damnit. We deserve better games. Expand

This game is challenging has a frustration factor if people like that. Great selection of character with DLC coming soon. If your a Dragon Ball Z fan you will surely be satisfied with this purchase. This maybe best step Bandai Namco has done making a Dragon Ball Z game close enough to Budokai game series but keeping a unique fighting system.

Pros: - Endless Co-Op fun through story mode

    - Story mode difficulty is challenging
    - Good selection of characters
    - Graphics are good
    - Online play is fantastic rarely to see any lag.

    Cons:
    - Camera is stiff
    - No Local/Offline Co-op *Hope Bandai Namco patches that*
    - Revival System needs to be patched time needs to increase

Other than that those are my only main Pros and Cons I can think of. If you are a DBZ fan its a must pick up. If Budokai Ultimate Tenkaichi make you have Bandai Namco you will have some renewed faith in Bandai Namco once again. Hopefully Bandai Namco goes down this path and make this battle system better.

With 67 decently diverse characters to choose from battle of z stands as one of the better dragon ball games. Overall battle of z is a worthwhile buy for fans but for general fighting game fans you should wait till the price drops. Final score 7.5. Expand

I really enjoy playing the game. I just wish that it had more levels and characters. Raging Blast 2 had a way better character selection. A costume change ability would have been nice too. Over all I still play it, but some characters that I would like to use more are really limited in their power levels.

For a DBZ game, its great! Do not compare it to fighters or any other genre but its own franchise. Granted, the controls are simple enough and the depth of the story mode isn't too vast, but the gameplay as a DBZ game is amazing. The RPG element compliments the attributes of the anime characters which is a plus because it takes THINKING. The two things real gamers want is great gameplay, decent graphics, and a challenge. You will get a challenge trying to Soul Revive an entire team against a Ape Gohan. Give it a shot with the mindstate that its a DBZ title you can control and not compare it to Titanfall, Phantom Pain, and The Division. Expand

This game is truly awesome! The only complaints i have is that I wish i could charge my energy and transform. That's it! I wasn't expecting a good story line since i knew the main focus would be maintaining 8 people fighting simultaneously. Guess what! I was half right. The story could've been better but it stayed with the storyline.

    Tl;Dr: it's amazing mmmkay

Well, it could have been a lot worse, atleast the game can be fun when you play with others. The fighting in this game lacks impact and is just plain boring.

I was so hyped for this game but then when it came out oh lord why?. The graphics and the characters look weird. the Soundtrack is awful and the controls feel wrong. Also they have way less Characters then in other Dbz Games.

This game is utter crap. You can't transform into SSJ. Worst combat controls in any game I've ever played. Special moves are bare bones and the character roster is a joke. Give us a good DBZ game Bandai!!!

This game is alright. But what can you expect from a DBZ game lately? This is just another of those games that take too long to make yet turn out to be just like the last game. The fighting is great, and the animation is much better, but the games get repetitive since all the DBZ games have the same missions every freaking time. The missions are either too short or too long, it skips alot of fights, and jumps straight to the boss battles or final battles like Freeza. The fights get boring and repetitive after a couple missions since the fights are all the same except for the characters. 70+ Characters were announced, yet we only got around 40 and they counted their other forms as separate characters. We did get Bills, Whis, and Naruto sage costume for goku. No custom character creation at all, and the multiplayer was alright. Again this game is not the best DBZ game, yet not the worst. A great game for casual gamers that play for fun, or just wanted to play with the new characters from the movie Battle of Gods. Expand

I went in with the mindset of playing a smallscale mmo with sloppy ai....and that made it great. My favorite after Xenoverse.

It's probably the most bland and repetitive DBZ game of this generation, with its only saving grace being the immense roster of characters.
