Console versions of Diablo 3 lacked the real-money auction house and can be played offline, making the game far more palatable, and more akin to what Diablo 2 offered.

Beyond the issue of the auction house, Diablo 3 is a far more streamlined and focused experience than Diablo 2, but does more than enough to step outside it predecessor's looming shadow. It offers plenty of challenge and a mostly satisfying endgame experience, and looks and sounds fantastic while doing so. If it does possess any shortcomings, one might be that it is not necessarily offering anything radically novel or innovative on a conceptual level - high-level play will often still feature you frantically trying to shrug off massive damage, feeling as though you are balancing on a knife's edge, where small mistakes can have massive negative consequences. Some people may understandably crave and love that experience, whereas others may find such precariousness frustrating.

Overall, Diablo 3 offers an amazing isometric ARPG experience, and is absolutely worthy of its namesake. Whatever negativity you may have heard about it feels unwarranted to me, and I highly, highly recommend it.

Diablo 3 is the first I've ever played in the series even though I did see my friend play Diablo 2 back in the day. Since I also do not play multiplayer I am probably giving the game a higher score than most to all fans of the original 2 parts. With that said I enjoyed it for what it was.

Diablo III is one of the best RPG I've ever played. It has a old school RPG mechanichs and gameplay. The lore is awesome, with demonic bosses. You have to play Diablo III if you are a fan of RPG games.

After all the patches and endgame extensions the game really became what it deserved to be: a good game. After Blizzard fired Jay Wilson and deleted the ingame auction, the game really felt like diablo again. No game will ever be as good as Diablo 2, we all know that. But this updated version of this game (2016) is really worth playing. Highly recommend the expansion though...

Since the release of Diablo 2, way, way, way back in 2000, fans were left waiting for the announcement of a further title in the series. Then in 2008 that time came, although it did take another 4 years for the game to be released, on May 15th 2012. So you ask why I am reviewing it more than a year later. The not so secret fact is that Diablo 3 is now available on Xbox360 and Playstation 3 a bold move for a game open solely to the PC and Mac user.

The reason behind this move? Too add to the best-selling PC title of 2012, or to simply welcome consoles into this fantasy hack and slash RPG that Diablo 3 is. Whatever the answer is, it’s a good move in my opinion.

For those of you who may not know about Diablo’s base of gameplay, let’s have a quick rundown. In the never ending battle of heaven and hell, you step up to the plate to ward off the forces of evil. Without too many spoilers the player is set along a mighty quest to inevitably defeat the dark lord, recruit followers to aid in your mission, collect loot, weapons and generally kicking evil’s butt. There are 4 acts to play through, all with a final boss level at the end. With some amazing cut scenes and side missions because. . . well, just because.

The interface and interaction were to me some of the main points I wanted to see accomplished with the transition and hasn’t let me down. The easy to navigate inventory and skills menus can be accessed and used with ease and at with haste.

Controls are simple, your skills & attacks are all in the palm of your hand to the right with movement & targeting on the left. An evade movement has been added to the right thumbstick, which isn’t available on the PC/ Mac version. All updates that were patched out to PC users are already pre-loaded onto the game also, bonus.

New character classes add variety into the selection making for numerous approaches in tactics. This is especially fun if you are in a party as it really increases the playability of the game. Sticking with the multi-player you not only have online and local play you also have the joy of LAN; yes LAN (Local Area Connection). So if you want to go old school and hook a few systems together you can, hazzar.

Another factor that stood out was the visuals and presentation of Diablo 3, with the shiny finish to end graphics and detail put into the console version really drew me in to slay down as many foes as possible until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. The paragon based level up system also encourages you to continue play and max out to unlock all the skills and class essentials to rid the world of the evil that invades its lands.

Diablo 3 is definitely holding the stakes in my game time and will continue to do so with the different playable options and difficulties at hand.

Blizzard’s done a great job with the leap back onto consoles given the 16 year gap they have taken to do it and seems fitting even for people who have no experience of the game before to pick up a controller and join in. Whether you decide to get the click happy PC version or the 360 and PS3 release, be noted Diablo 3 has been announced for next gen on the PS4 & there is no official word from Microsoft or Blizzard to state an appearance on Xbox One, yet…

Very surprised by this game, bought it with the expansion pack as a time filler, blew me a way, good combat, not repetitive, great customisation options, loads of wonderful loot, I finished it in a few sittings it hooked me that much and there's more to do after you finish the game. Great value. Nice graphics too.

I feel as a long time Diablo player it's time for a realistic review of this game. I own 3 copies of this title, PC PS3 and Xbox360. I also own the RoS expansion for the pc and Xbox.

Down to the nitty gritty, if you come into this game expecting a new style RPG (IE Skyrim) you will be disappointed. There is very little to character customization because you're selecting a pre-made character. Picture Baldur's Gate and selecting a pre con. So as you level the stat points are instantly distributed to what you need. The item crafting in the game prior to Ultimate Evil Edition can be a little tedious with the need for pages and tomes.

Now on to what I'd consider the Pro's of the game. It's a great dungeon crawler, on harder difficulties it's almost impossible to Solo unless you know what you're doing down to a T. The randomization of the drops and hidden locations, quests, etc make the game highly replayable. Another thing that makes the base game replayable is the Paragon system. Because the level cap without RoS is lower, you still gain "levels" which transfers over to ALL characters. The story isn't bad, actually it's better than 1 and 2 in my opinion.

One of the best cooperative hack n' slash games currently available. With it's countless hours of content and high replay value, there are plenty of reasons to keep coming back and collecting loot. It's overall just a heck of a lot of fun and nothing beats the game's couch co-op. The only issue I really have with the game is that it's story isn't really interesting at all. Seeing one of my favorite game series get used as a scam was very disappointing. Finding good end game equipment was next to impossible without spending some money at the Auction house... but that's beside the point.

Diablo 3 on console probably saved this game from obscurity. I have had more fun playing this then I have any xbox 360 game this year (still haven't played GTA V). Blizzard, I would say, has made some very good choices about how they went about this one and took care of the biggest complaints. The first being the Auction House. Nobody like it. Nobody that I knew. It was just another distraction that got in the way of actually playing and enjoying your game. But despite Blizzards claims that many "people" liked this "useful" feature, someone higher in there company took notice of the complaints and did away with it. What happened when they fixed that you ask? Well I can now get good loot when I play the game without fighting the same boss 30 times. It's better off without it.

Now let's talk DRM. I cannot stand these policies. In recent years, companies like Blizz, EA, and Ubi have been trying to press this always online thing. Why? because it means more money for them. What these dinosaurs fail to realize is that people will find ways to steal it, so it's a useless tactic that only punishes actual, paying customers. It seems they took the middle ground with consoles. You can't really pirate games on a console without expensive, illegal mods (just buy a PC, stop throwing away your money) so the "always online" thing has been done away with. Another reason it can be offline now? No more Auction house. It's a good thing all of us burnt PC gamers complain, because if enough people complain, and if a good company wants to keep making money, they fix the problem. The best part about offline play is that you can get up to four people together on the same screen and play without the hassle of DRMs and Accounts.

I love this game, and I'm glad I'm finally getting to enjoy it. The only reason it gets an 8 is because I'm still slightly disappointed with the watered down "RPG" elements. They really took the RPG part out of the game when Blizz did away with Attribute and Skill points. But it more than makes up for it with great gameplay and replayability. Some PC gamers get huffy and say the graphics are a step down... but really.... the only differences I've noticed are that there's a noticable screen tear every once in a while, slightly lower frame rates, and less anti-aliasing. This game looks great on 360 and I'm sure if you guys waited for the next console to play this one, you will find that the graphics are on par with an average gaming PC. This game looks great. It's easy to get into and gets you addicted within a matter of minutes. I miss the RPG part these games... but who knows. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Blizzard went out of their way and put lots of nice touches for this version. It might not be as deep as Diablo II, but the 3D effects (physics, etc) make it very entertaining to play. It also has lots of end game things to do, and with a shared stash as well as shared blacksmith upgrades and paragon levels that apply to all characters on the account, it's very fun to upgrade other characters and keep playing the game. 9/10 easily. One point removed for a few minor gripes; can't compare equipped items when viewing stashed items (only to what's in your inventory) and targeting a surrounded enemy can be tricky.

For any dungeon crawler fans who love the progression of great loot and unlocking skills, this one's a must own.

-Sound- 8/10. Much of the same things can be heard, but doesn't get boring too fast. But once you hear the same sound of the same enemy dying, it really drags along.

-Conclusion- Now, I have only played this for about 2 hours, and do not have much depth of what everything really is, but the time I played, I was excited to play it, but after a few hours, it began to feel a bit repetitive. Still, a good game, and probably one of the better ports of a PC to Console game than most, I give it an 8.5/10 (9/10).
