I will say that the Campaign Story was very engaging, though predictable. But that does not save it from the wretch of a multiplayer it claims to have.

I remember when this was announced, that one of the biggest claims they had was this was going to have little "camping" areas ,and more assault style game play. This got me excited for the game. However after playing, this should be renamed: Call of Duty: Spawn Camper's Paradise.

I put off buying this game for a while because of the bad reviews I heard, but figured I would give it a try. I regret purchasing this, even on sale. I am absolutely beyond words about how much I regret buying this game.

There is dumb **** flying around everywhere, along with tracking scopes and kill streaks where you don't need a kill streak. Everything is so busy the maps are stupid and confusing also way too big to play the game at any reasonable pace. Campaign Pros/Cons

    PROS:
    - Weapons have a nice feel to them
    - Finally... Some TANK missions
    - Not TOO many slo-mo breach and clears
    - OMFG A SPACE MISSION!!!
    - Underwater Missions
    - Lots of stealth missions (me like :D )

    CONS:
    - Seems like the same old CoD campaign (do this, kill these people, defend this guy, use this turret..)
    - Short (can be beaten EASY in one day
    - Characters don't really seem like i can connect with them. I didn't care if they died or not. Like in Black Ops 1, i legit LOVED that campaign. It was new ideas... New concepts... It was one of my favs!
    - The helicopter mission seems like its dragged out too long

Multiplayer Pros/Cons (prepare yourself... it's long)

    PROS:
    - Sorta like the squad points idea... Nice how you don't have to wait until certain level to unlock something. Also like how you don't have to get tons of kills with the weapon to get attachments. You can unlock them as you wish.
    - Like the whole squads idea...
    - LOVE search and rescue!
    - Blitz, Cranked were nice additions!
    - Some weapons have integrated attachments in them
    - Different soldiers to prestige. You don't lose everything.
    - SAFEGUARD! :D
    - Almost no lag...
    - Hit detection is AMAZING

    CONS:
    - No; Ground War, Demolition, or Hardpoint...
    - THE GOD DAMN DOG KILLSTREAK! It eats bullets and explosives for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday! Oh... and did i mention they have the range of only THE ENTIRE DAMN MAP!
    - The maps are TOO big. Unbelievable... 6 v 6 on giant maps like stonehaven... it means for very slow gameplay.
    - Of course... The CoD players worst enemy... SHOTGUNS. SO overpowered! Especially on Free Fall! #NerfShotguns!
    - Snipers are rather underpowered in my opinion.
    - Adding marksmen rifles was a bad move in my opinion. Semi auto assault rifles with the range and damage of snipers? If you have a modded controller you are practically INVINCIBLE!

    Extinction Pros/Cons

    PROS:
    - NONE. EXTINCTION IS CRAP.

    CONS:
    - INFINITY WARD PUT IT IN THE GAME. GOD I HATE EXTINCTION! AWFUL! LEAVE ZOMBIE TYPE GAMEMODES TO TREYARCH! ITS LIKE THE ONE THING THEY CAN DO RIGHT!

    Overall.....
Umm infinty ward. Look. You guys did AMAZING on MW2 series... I loved them! You really went downhill on ghosts. Sorry. But its true. This game has SO much potential! Just... FIX this please. And i think i speak for a good chunk of your fan base. You don't want to become hated like David Vonderhaar. Hated and disrespected. Fix parts of the game...! ADD DEMOLITION PLEASE! Thank you! :D

Really, a South American Union? The graphics are fair for the most part, but what's the point of interesting levels if you're simply moving upon a set path with no branching ways to take. Also if the squad you're controlling is suppose to be stealth killers, then shouldn't the game have way more stealth aspects to it? However I find it really stupid that you have multiple characters and each item you buy is not carried over to another. Spawning is by far the worst ever, almost reminds me of halo. I watched a kill cam of a guy seeing me spawn in front of him and shoot from 10 yards away.

To sum up, if you enjoyed playing any of the call of duty's from the previous game titles, do not buy this game. It will ruin your impression of the cod experience. I never thought I'd say this, but I may be switching to Battlefield..that had a sour taste..

I've been a big fan of the Modern Warfare series and didn't enjoy Black Ops quite as much, but with all the hype and granted amazing advertisements for it, I was hoping "Ghosts" would be something special. How naive. My biggest mistake was purchasing it as a download on sale...as I would've taken it to GameStop as a trade by now. I've only had it for about three weeks. I started the campaign and quickly became bored, so I went to the "Squads" mode to develop my skills and slowly improve my equipment options. This is a painfully slow process. It takes FOREVER to continually earn "squad points" that you can spend for simple upgrades. And you need them for virtually everything. There's no more of the standard leveling up of a weapon. But here's the thing. You never really feel like you need a launcher, or additional explosives, or tactical gear. They're seemingly pointless in how the game modes play out. One of my personal favorites of MW3 was Special Ops, playing alone or with a friend in survival mode. This was a great mode that did NOT need fixing. Now its "infected" hoards coming at you with random support being dropped around you. You no longer earn points to select how you want to defend yourself. Just pick up a sentry gun. Place it. Now watch as it "expires" after a certain amount of time. That's right, it just "expires", you lose it for no reason. It wasn't destroyed. I'm just not a fan of random aid being dropped from the sky. It eliminates the fun of actually establishing a strategy. And don't think you can setup in any decent defensive position. The maps are so open that nearly every time you think that you may have a decent defensive position it's probably compromised at some angle. Oh, Capture the Flag is gone (one of my personal multi-player favorites). I could go on and on. I keep wasting my life playing a bit more to see if anything grabs me. How can such a great title go down like this? Did they even beta test it. Did people really think it was that much fun? I need to find another source of entertainment as this game has now taken even more time from me in the form of a ranting review. Expand

I've always been more of a "run n' gun" kind of player; I do not enjoy spending my time in matches hiding in spots, waiting for people to walk by. this game does not lend itself to how i would like to play. this is not coming from a few bad games. this is coming from me putting time into the multiplayer, trying out each gun, reading the forums, watching the youtube videos, trying to figure out what the best guns and class setups for my playing style are. the first horrible aspect is the way you setup classes. at first, i thought it was cool that you could purchase some of the "better" guns by playing a few rounds, instead of grinding out challenges to level up quicker. however, after realizing how few of these credits you earn after each game, how much even the smallest attachments cost, and the downright RIDICULOUS cost of purchasing a fourth or fifth class was, i began to realize that this was a rather poor, and crippling, way to approach the multiplayer. this structure really did not allow for players to try out each gun as they progressed through the game, it was either spend points on gun A or gun B, and if you don't happen to like the gun you purchased, than god have mercy on your poor soul. overall, as stated before, every aspect of the multiplayer was disappointing. with each new map, it felt like the game rewarded the players that would just camp in spots the entire game, while punishing players like me, who preferred running around. even for maps where i had gotten a good feel for where i should go, and how to approach the map that fit my style, it was still a struggle. an endless source of frustration was the I.E.D., which to me was a certain kill, regardless of whether or not you were anywhere near it when it detonated. hell, there were times i saw these items kill players through walls and around corners, but it just wouldn't be a CoD multiplayer if the laws of physics weren't totally trampled. bottom line: the campaign was, by and far, the only part of the game that approached the realm of "fun", and for a game that puts all of its eggs in the multiplayer basket, that is not a good sign. avoid this game at all costs, it is just no good Expand

However, in execution it is let down by a rush to force players into more action and shooting. The game would benefit from taking more time to explain the story and add more depth in-level. I would encourage Activision to accept that a large percentage of players play Call of Duty for the multiplayer and focus on a short, story driven campaign, and be more daring with its ideas.

The level design is familiar to other Call of Duty's - narrow and linear passages, whereby your shot at from in-front. Additional gameplay elements would provide a better sense of accomplishment but there is nothing apparent wrong with gameplay.

    Multiplayer (8/10):

Multiplayer is similar to all other Call of Duty titles...and this isn't a bad thing. It is successful for a reason. It doesn't have the scope of Battlefield 4 but it possess a fun arcade charm.

There has been a lot of comments regarding hackers in lobbies. However, I have accumulated 24 hours of gameplay online and have failed to encounter a single one.

The introduction of squad points is an interesting addition. Although, almost everything purchasable is valued at a low cost. Therefore, the system misses out on the opportunity to provide a greater sense of accomplishment.

Level design on multiplayer is slightly different to previous generations. The maps are now larger. Personally, I prefer this change, it lends it self to different tactics. Some levels lack character but all are well designed for their purpose.

    Extinction:

I have only played extinction once. It isn't bad but I am not drawn to it. I think you either like it or dislike it.

    Overall (8/10):

I enjoy playing Ghosts. I prefer it to MW3 and am enjoying the multiplayer. I was previously playing Battlefield 4 on my PC (Max Settings - for those who are concerned with graphics) and I personally prefer Ghosts. The graphics aren't on par and the scope is smaller. But it is fun. I'd recommend those who are having second doubts about purchasing this game to just give it a go!

I also think machine guns are completely over powering the game, it might not be a very bad thing, but with Modern Warfare 2 (Being my favourite CoD so far) your able to use snipers which makes the game more fun for people that enjoy sniping. CoD Ghosts' campaign is a super slow starter that does peak a bit to the point of being interesting and worth finishing, but the methods of which this franchise's storyline will be carried on were pathetically scripted and made for a cheap excuse to continue on. Honestly, why bother with over-theatrical endings with impossible outcomes when you could just end it here and start fresh like just about every other company? That leaves us with the multiplayer to rally what has become a bothersome and uninspiring series over the last couple iterations. Like Black Ops 2, the multiplayer of Ghosts copycats its predecessors heavily but strips out a lot of the best things about the glory days. Gone are cool killstreaks like the AC-130 gunship, nuke strike, predator missiles, and such. Instead, we have things like rockets that are near impossible to nab kills with and high-end killstreaks that are incredibly tough to acquire. The setup is hilariously bad at times and saps some of the arcadey fun that we used to have back in Modern Warfare 2 and 3. Also noteworthy is the poor spawning system that seems to be setup for much larger maps but instead gets squeezed into the maps at hand and ultimately screw you over as players will literally spawn behind you, leaving you unaware and defenseless at random. Also, the dedicated servers that were promised are still missing in action. Infinity Ward have gone on to comment that they're coming, but no date has been given and it's been confirmed that they aren't even available for most platforms. Xbox One owners should eventually have access to them through the support of Xbox Live, but it's entirely possible that by the time they're implemented, we will all have sold off this mediocre excuse for next-generation gameplay and be on to something more promising like TitanFall or Destiny. If you are buying an Xbox One, or any other next-gen console, for a better experience, this is not where you want to end up. Try Battlefield 4 if you must have a shooter now, or try something else completely. Or... wait until March 11, 2013 for TitanFall, which is made by the guys who designed and helped write the first Modern Warfare game and made CoD great. Expand

1 and 2- 1 combined with 2 gives me a headache when playing.
3- There's no demolition, headquarters, CTF, ground war, hardpoint, and I think a few more. The only thing worth playing is Domination, and that gets old reeeaaaal fast.
    4. Most of the weapons in the multi-player are the same re-skinned guns.

First of the bat, this game is down right, over the moon, extraordinarily, ugly. I'm taking a computer games development course in college, I've mad maps in far greater detail in the span of a few hours and they spend a year or two on a few maps and they are by far the most horribly laid out and hideous looking I've ever seen. You can actually see the pixels up close, no game high budget games nowadays accept this. So where did the money go? That's right, into Activision's or Inifinty Ward's deep fat pockets from all of the children they entertain. Only children and low iQ people will enjoy this game because they do not understand the standards a game is suppose to set. Infinity Ward you played a pretty good joke, if this isn't a joke, what the hell are you doing? Can you please just accept you've had your moment in the sun with Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, so please, do us and every mature person a favor stop coming up with this horrible you call a game. You're the worse bunch of developers I've ever laid eyes on. It's a shame though, a lot of indie companies out there and other good developers would kill for the opportunity you guys have, and you spew up every year or two. Can't wait for the day you guys go out of business. T'will be a good day.

Also, I absolutely loved all your hype about how a new engine. Your new engine is garbage, no gameplay feels different, feels exactly the same as the last one. It's surprising that with a new engine the style and feel would be different but no. This just shows how lame you are, that with a new engine you still catch the same repetitive feel and style you made in the previous games. That is a achievement. I never thought that was even possible.

By the way, stop paying companies to review your game good, not gonna do you have favors when people see the audience reviews and it completed contrasts with the "critics"

Multiplayer: They changed few things in certain areas and made it better. Don't expect to play like before and run around shooting everyone. To get kill streaks you need to use real skills. Not bunny hopping and quick scoping.
Extinction Amazing. Takes few rounds of game Play and learning to play as a team to see how amazing this mode is. It's action packed, Fun, tactical, and very original. Tops Zombies by a long shot.

    More details .
Campaign Some of the missions shows off the skills of "Ghosts" and adds to their name. New tactics used in game make this very fun. Plenty of action and entertaining. Story is good. NOT horrible like others say in their very negative reviews.
Multiplayer: The maps are bigger and well constructed. You do get plenty of kills and action, just not crazy hectic running around You do spawn at random spots, which is not a problem ONLY ONCE IN A WHILE you spawn near enemy. Maybe it happened more, the week of game release, but no more)
Yes, you do die faster. But this is a good thing. It prevents people from bunny hopping & moving side to side to avoid getting hit or rushing you to knife you.
Also They made quick scoping harder to do.
There is a new perk system, which is better! Just need to spend time learning it, Like most new things.
And for those who want to ONLY play the game 1st few days. You can just use default until your ready to change perks.
    Extinction: The Best MODE EVER!
At 1st it's very chaotic but after few games you see what is going on and what needs to be done.
The aliens move around randomly making this much more interactive and attention garbing.
As you progress new aliens come into the fight. Keeps you on your toes and keeps your interest/ makes it challenging.
Now for the Best part. You can buy verity of Guns and they get upgraded with random attachments found in game.
There are multiple traps you can use on aliens and you get points when they die with your traps.
You can use Sentry Gun, Rockets, and very cool perks. This makes this game very fun and addictive.
This is much much better than zombies.

Graphics: Good Graphics. Better than previous games.
People who say it has bad graphics are people who compare it to PS4 or XBOX ONE. Of course in that comparison it's not the same look.

This is a great game. I love it.
I prefer it over Battlefield 4. I Bought BF4 week it came out because i read all the bad reviews for COD: GHOSTS. I only bought COD: Ghosts because my GF wanted to play it. And i am very happy I got it. I literally just stopped playing BF4 after playing Ghosts. COD: Ghost is a great game!)

Also, for a game that is supposed to be advancing why did it go from useful uav to a backtracking sat com? You need several to do anything or make them useful. Sure campaign is fun but people buy it for the multiplayer, and they pretty much ruined that by removing game modes and using ridiculous maps. They also removed the crossbow that was the only useful counter weapon to the all annoying riot shield. Not surprised that the user rating is at 2.3 and that people are turning to bop II or battlefield. If you're a camper or a marksman class whore then you probably enjoy the endless camping spots and it is harder to see you when sitting stationary for whatever reason. But for others it is torture. To fix camping, they should put in an activity percentage, which would be a stat that shows how long your player is moving which would reveal how much you camp, and maybe weed out some campers. Just a thought. Also, I don't know what the deal is wtith the servers or something but it seems so laggy nearly half the time and no this is not due to a walmart connection mine is fine and I can play all other cod games online no problem, something about this game just doesn't work and lags easily and often. Overall the hype and trailers really let everyone down when it comes to actually playing this trash heap. The only good thing in can think of that stands out is some of the later kill streaks. Expand

The normal COD game every year consists of; mediocre graphics (for a AAA game), addicting/fun multiplayer, co-op and a campaign that contains you in a certain area and guides you as though you're 6 years old. COD games a generally fun for a while until it becomes that one game that sits in the corner until you buy the next game in the series next year. Alot of people hate COD because the dev's keep making the same game every year and asking for $60 even though it hasn't changed that much. I completely agree with this statement because its true. I generally wait 2-3 years before i buy a COD game again instead of throwing money away. The COD games are good games you can't deny that. The multiplayer is strong, lots of different play styles and the co-op is so damn fun when you and a bunch of friends team up and play it. This year the maps are larger which sucks because it has only 12 or 18 player slots because it was meant for next-gen. If you have Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 do your self a favor and just play that because i found the kill-streaks more fun in that game, the maps were smaller so you never went long times without finding people and the entire setting of the future was more interesting than the somewhat gloomy presence of Ghosts. The campaign is about what you'd expect, pretty decent. Extinction is probably the best and most unique part of the game. It's fun, expansive, and almost as good of an experience as Zombies.

I have been a fan of Call of Duty for a while now, since BLOPS1 to be exact. But this game was a slight dissapointment. It felt unchanged. If Infinity ward had spent more time on this game, there could have been much more to it. The campaign had a ridiculous ending, Rorke is somehow alive after being SHOT and left UNDERWATER to DROWN. That doesn't make sense! The multiplayer, while somewhat of an improvement (I personally enjoyed Cranked to some degree, as well as Search and Rescue do to the one life thing from Search and Destroy), has its cons. The maps are enormous, that's no exaggeration. I remember reading somewhere that the smallest map in Ghosts, (I believe it's freefall, I don't know) is the same size as the largest map in Black Ops 2. It's also noticeably easier to die in multiplayer matches. By that, I mean that from personal experience, I have died without so much as a hit marker on my screen. I literally dropped dead as soon as the other player starts shooting. Plus, the explosion physics seem to be bipolar on how they work. I toss a C4 charge at one person, it's 2 feet in front of his face, he only gets hurt. He throws a C4 charge at me, it's 2 feet in front of MY face, I die. Don't get me started on the spawns either. Overall, the game had potential, but it was thrown away in favor of pretty pictures, dogs, and fish A.I.

The perfect word for Call of Duty:GHOSTS is "a waste of money" For whoever has played Black Ops2 and thought it was bad...BO2 is heaven while playing GHOSTS....the campaign is short and dreading, the multiplayer is very slow paced and the new squads mode is just a fancy word for private BOT matches from previous Call of Dutys.
The game is not worth anyones money and should be complained about.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. IW's first bad game. I normally look forward to the IW release every other year over treyarch, and I thought after the fairly disappointing MW3 launch in 2011, that they'll step it up again in 2013. Well, I was wrong. They took a step back this time. 3 steps back to be exact. They focused way too much and the tiny details rather than focusing on the main idea. It was rather boring to be honest. The campaign seemed to just drag on and on. One of the worst things about the campaign was that it felt more like some copy and paste things (just retextured and more dog in it) from the MW series, but get this, it felt like a goddamn WW2 game during some parts. I mean WTF? This game is set during 2023 (I think). Not only that, I'm pretty sure they got somebody from a previous WW2 COD game to voice Rorke, I mean he even sounds exacly like the Sgt. from COD 2:Big Red One, except louder. And the trenches too. Yep, there's trenches, I was thinking that they retextured that from a scrapped WW1 or WW2 game a while back, I mean it feels like the Trenches in COD 2:BRO. And another thing too... physics doesn't seem to apply much in it, as you can shoot guns in space, and as far as I'm aware of, oxygen doesn't exist in the vacuum of space, so how do they fire? In the underwater level, the sharks are way too aggressive, actually I don't even think IW knows about sharks. For example, sharks in real life are way more scared of us then we are of them. Should you shoot 1 shark once, instead of swimming away, every shark in the whole goddamn ocean decides to swim faster than a bullet at you and attacks you. How does that work??? And even if you shoot it, if it comes within 15 feet of you, every move you do will freeze, and the shark commando lunges (MW2 reference if you don't get it) you, and you can't even defend yourself. And even if you kill one, another pops out of nowhere and does the same thing. Another thing too is that Riley, the dog/STAR of the game is soooo annoying. It's Riley this, use your dog for a really long part of the mission that if you fail you have to start at the beginning of that part again, or just plain carrying the poor thing. It's just annoying. Then back to Rorke. So IW, what if you're shot by a .44 Magnum round in the heart? Shouldn't you die? Yes of course you should, escpically when you're 10 feet away from the gun too. Yeah, so you shoot Rorke at the end underwater with that gun, and yet he magically lives. And what's better is that there's no way he could have come up from 50 feet with a bullet wound underwater and live.So basically if you wanted there to be a Ghosts 2 or whatever (Oh god please no), you could've done something more believable at the end. Moving to Extinction mode. It's short and sweet. It's very boring. For MP... Poor map designs, bad support, and just too many campers (which I guess it the same thing as the map design.). Well that's it. Expand

The campaign was rather fun, but the multiplayer is a buggy, rushed piece of trash. It has about 4 guns per category instead of the usual 6 or 7, and is prone to skipping frames, especially when you are in a combat situation. To be brutally honest Infinity Ward should have stuck with making what they already are good at: Modern Warfare.

I'll give IW props for trying to create an entirely new physics setup, but clearly there is an issue with how they thought this through. When every map in multiplayer is the same "all-is-medium-ranged" layout where assault rifles dominate all, along with every other weapon class watered down in the area of being unique. The ability to create a soldier is just spectacular, but the modified Pick-10 System is slightly off. Breaking up all abilities from perks into seperate perks makes selection difficult when you never feel like you have all that you need. The system was moderately confusing as well. I won't fully detail the aspects of the gameplay mechanics due to how complicated it is, but I will say that gameplay is frustrating with the poor lag compensation, mediocre kill-cams, and the lighting system (light seen through walls). I see potential in this game, if I absolutely wanted to play on the same kinds of maps all day long. DLC, which will have to be payed for, will probably be entirely a rip-off considering that every COD game's map type remains the same throughout the game, DLC or not, generating little variety.

The campaign was worthwhile, however. The storyline was somewhat unique, even if unexplained in some areas, such as why South America has capabilities beyond the U.S. Military's, how did South American combatants get into space when currently there are enough problems as is, even if in the future, and other areas. On a better note, there is an interesting ending to the campaign, and there is that tactical feel to the whole gameplay within campaign.

I've not played enough of Extinction mode to know where it could go to better itself, that is if there is much to be bettered othere than the lack of map availability. Perhaps it's just me being used to Black Ops 2, but I prefer having interesting weapons and different ways to go in a map, not being forced to play a certain way. I also thought IW was just trying to replicate Treyarch's Zombies idea, but with their own twist, causing distortions in design, like the modified Pick-10 System. In general, I believe Extinction is respectable, but not exactly superb in any way whatsoever.

In summary, this game has some good ideas to present, but you simply can't polish a blemish and expect it to win hearts. There are plenty of problems to iron out, and I hope they do iron them out, but the issues are simply unbearable to play on, so I will give this game a lower score for now.

Activision has a lot of updating to do before Multiplayer is worth playing if you don't want to give yourself an ulcer or become a complete douche bag in your style of play. The game has it's moments, but you'd be happier with an extra $60 in your pocket or a higher quality game. Expand

I haven't really cared much for extinction, not really interested in it but never the less i had a go, it was quite impressive, something a little different, i found it extremely hard even with 4 people. Online so far has been a moderate yet fun experience (despite not being able to play it much). Apart from spawn points being a joke, S&D being removed (which is back in now i believe), the ability to see who is chatting in your games by removing the mic icons and also the fact that the barracks have been roomed and in order to do a challenge for an unlock etc you have to select it in the operations screen, i preferred it where once i hit certain levels i unlocked the challenges myself and could do them whenever i please. I don't see any greatly overused guns and the majority of games i have been in have been quite balanced. The good selection is very nice with a variety of guns in each category. In conclusion i this the 2.3 user score that this game has gotten is from users that are either bad at the game or are getting beaten. Especially when it got a 7.4 off critics. Bad players don't make a bad game. Expand

The funny thing in my mind is that if Ghosts actually went by its apparent ideas of guerrilla warfare, of laying traps, using stolen enemy weapons and approaching enemies with more thought than shooting anything that moves, that it would be a cult hit for those longing for an expansion of CoD4's All Ghillied Up missions Unfortunately, in the hands of a post Zampella/West Inifinity Ward,The funny thing in my mind is that if Ghosts actually went by its apparent ideas of guerrilla warfare, of laying traps, using stolen enemy weapons and approaching enemies with more thought than shooting anything that moves, that it would be a cult hit for those longing for an expansion of CoD4's All Ghillied Up missions Unfortunately, in the hands of a post Zampella/West Inifinity Ward, it is bizarrely as bad, even worse than its World War 3 styled predecessors in terms of bombastic set pieces, and about as stealthy as a truck with giant amps blaring out nu-metal full blast at the enemy.

The graphics may claim to be better, but such bland art direction makes it look worse than Black Ops 2's near future style. Gameplay is as recycled as you can get, and new ideas seem to be taken as jokes by the devs, who would much rather stick with their formula than try anything remotely new, in case players have a weird fear of change.

The campaign is very forgettable, and considering that an oscar winner wrote it that's a surprise. It is just as racially insensitive as MW3 when it comes to depicting anyone other than the U.S (come on, South america this time?), and there is no emotional connection to the player character. Crucially, it takes itself far too seriously, so there is no fun to be had at its own silliness the way Blops 2 had.

Simply put, doesn't live up to its promises, and instead sticks to a far too worn path that most have got sick of at this point.

Parts are lifted from different movies that did it better. I don't expect much from a cod story, but please don't let every line be cheesy as possible. And don't let the villain devolve into Friday the 13th style schlock. We know you're planning to sell dlc centered around it, you're not being clever. Dog is cool but under utilized and is used as an obvious pull-the-heart-strings. I've was around a military dog once and have talked with guys how've worked with them; they are not friendly creatures like the one in this game is.

I think I would've given this a higher score if it was a midway decent game by a new company. Instead of a midway decent game from the leftovers of infinity ward. Don't pretend you're the same company as before in an effort to sell games and then claim it was a decent first effort at the same time. From what I saw, 10% was brilliant and the rest was either tired or substandard. I think the ten percent was from work done by infinity ward before they dissolved.

Kudos for getting a game out under such difficult circumstances. Hopefully next year's will be better.

Yes, this game is VERY similar to COD Black Ops 2. But it still keeps a sense of entertainment. I thought it was good and fulfilled personal expectations along with keeping the hype going. I don't blame the COD industry for not trying to step out of the box. The game is well designed and has amazing game play. Biggest factors of gaming when you don't care about previous games.

I have played all the CoD's, and this one is by far the worst. I LOVE and played many hours on all the previous ones, but I cannot do that on this one. They diverted from the typical CoD formula with this game, and as a result many other CoD fans and myself are not pleased. This is the worst CoD I have ever played. One of my biggest problems is that in the previous games, you had a chance to retaliate when someone saw you first, but this game will rarely give you the chance. It is a game of whoever sees the other person first, and I do not like it. I am not sure if this is true, but it FEELS like they changed the amount of bullets to kill someone and it ruined the game. They also changed the prestige system to some awful character system which sounded cool, but sucks. I was very excited when I purchased it and am now typing this with disappointment. I WANTED to love this game, but I can't. It's terrible. I gave it a 2 because of character customization (finally!) and some cool killstreaks like the Maniac. But I can't get myself to look past all the garbage and see the good things... the bad out weighs the good. It saddens me that this game is so awful. Hopefully CoD 2014 will be better and nothing like this piece of trash. Expand

Overall Ghosts is a great COD and in my opinion the best one to date. I never thought I'd see a COD beat COD4, but I must admit it has now happened. If you like the COD's before this, it's a must own!

I would've rated the game higher, but I'm a bit upset that demolition and headquarters wasn't included in the multiplayer game modes.

I have bought a couple of COD games in the past (MW1 MW2 World at War) and I think this game is better in terms of graphics and gameplay. The single player is good, but not something special. The multiplayer works perfectly and is really enjoyable. A lot of people complain about the big maps and about camping, but I do not agree with them. In the beginning, you will not be as good as some players, because you really have to get to know the surroundings. At the moment, I have a K-D ratio near 2.0 and I run like a rabbit (if you move well and look at the right spots, you will beat the campers easily). As your experience growths over time, you will also kill more people when playing the big maps. I also think that the killstreaks are not too powerful, which is a good thing. In this COD, you can have a lot of strategies due to the large variety of perks, weapons and killstreaks and you can play with several characters in different outfits! I also like it that you can do prestige without huge disadvantages in the beginning! It is a very solid shooter! Expand

The reviews for this game make me wonder whether popular gaming magazines are bought and paid for. The spawn points are terrible, the maps are overly large and cluttered, promoting camping. It's a less fun version of modern warfare 3, which was a less entertaining version of modern warfare. I regret I bought this game. Thankfully I was drunk so I can blame it on that

Worst online game plae of call of duty yet. The online game play is horrible. Team death match is joke. Spawn points are horrendous. Maps are stupid. Weapons are just silly. Pissed I spent 60 dollars on it. I will now stay away from infinity ward. I created this account simply for the fact that I am so disappointed with the game I hope it stops people from buying the game.

Flanking and getting around corners to fire on your position as well as flushing with equipment use.
But most of the locations are forgetful, many of the other characters may be well voice acted but they are still forgettable save for Riley "Dog". You fight well amongst the ranks and though they kill enemies as well you are left to mop up the bulk of the troops. However it would have been nice to play a character with a voice.. The last CoD games gave you that satisfaction at least. Knowing that your character was there and had a voice to let his own existence be heard and felt.

Multiplayer is where this game shines as with all the CoD games. It boast a rather decent roster of weapons and items to use in combat, as well as perks and kill streaks to help keep the enemy dead and staying there. However I found myself missing many of the items and weapons from Black Ops2. "Namely the Ballistic Knife" But other weapons helped easy that loss, including the knew grenade launcher. Weapon balance is thrown off at times by the aim assist and even gives the quick scope players some problems at times "serves them right"
Character customization is a new and welcome addition, I currently have an almost full list of troops in my squad and each of them host and different flavor of play. This stacked with the ability to unlock items and patches with challenge completions fill my complietionest niche nicely. Not to mention extinction, though I admit I do miss my zombies however I can feel its time to leave that behind as well. As well as the ability to have skill sets and abilities in the new horde mode as well.

    Well done on that end.

All in all I enjoyed the game, the fast paced and well made story coupled with a villain that I can easily want to kill as much as the next guy and in my opinion an award winning multiplayer as always. Only held back by some of its more small problems still showing their ugly heads.

A must buy for any FPS fan.

If you like this game then you like camping in one spot constantly looking in your site for someone to run by, NOT rushing friendly by any means. after all the camping issues in pervious cods, who the hell thought it would be a good idea to make the game the most camper friendly yet such a huge dissapointment, i cannot think of 1 positive feature in this awful game. I wish games would stop trying to be like each other and just be themselves, thats what makes games diverse from each other. CoD, your not battlefield.
