    i bout this game at midnight when it came out at first it felt really fun but after awhile it got really boring everyone camps and its no fun after a week just traded it back in for Need For Speed Rivals

    Sadly one of the worst games in the series.Every gun sounds alike and while the maps look alright upon inspection they're poorly detailed (the fire is doing that rotate along with you thing that really old games do. Seriously? This is 2013) it seems like Infinity ward is more focused on making their maps look blown up so they don't have to do as much. The "map destruction" is limited toSadly one of the worst games in the series.Every gun sounds alike and while the maps look alright upon inspection they're poorly detailed (the fire is doing that rotate along with you thing that really old games do. Seriously? This is 2013) it seems like Infinity ward is more focused on making their maps look blown up so they don't have to do as much. The "map destruction" is limited to little spots with the Ghost symbol so it's like they wanted to be "real" like Battlefield but don't want to do the work involved so they made like 2 spots. If you like killstreaks don't get your hopes up on this game because none of them are satisfying. There's one map killstreak that blows up the map (like a nuke because IW wants to milk the good things about MW2 without actually doing them) I'm giving this game a 1 because while it's absolutely terrible it's still functional so while everything about it screams worst game of 2013 the game works. If you feel like renting it then that's basically the only way I recommend playing this unless you find it for less than $20. In the meantime just play any other CoD game you'll enjoy it more and won't shell out $60 that could be used on a much better release.… Expand

Everything is the same as before. Hacking, quick scoping, not to mention the stupidity of the kills. I guess by not resting they meant adding crap no one care about.

    I really wanted to like this game. This is recycled garbage. I will still play it and beat it just for the gamerscore however this will probably be the last COD I buy. I am sick of the repetition and lack of story. It's getting worse and worse...totally unoriginal. The real talent at Infinity Ward is making Titanfall.

    No doubt one of the worst CoD games ever made. The first CoD ever made had a better ending than the entire campaign of Ghosts. I thought Black ops was bad but no thats even better than this crap. They should have just went off of Mw2 storyline but no lets make a entirely new CoD series. Lame!!! Im done woth Infinity Ward after this... Hello Battlefield!

    This is the most pathetic attempt yet in the CoD lineup. No creativity, nothing excitingly new, and most importantly, I feel like a bunch of the game changes aspects that were not broken. I don't understand what Infinity Ward was aiming for here, but it came up substantially short.

    -great character customization feature
    -guns are balanced, to those who argue, you can go online and see almost every submachine gun and almost every assult riffle being used. in MW2, all you saw was the ACR and UMP.
    -new tactical/lethal grenades.

    Things that are neutral (some players like it and some players dislike it):
    -pick 11 point system
    -variety of perks
    -knifing animation. it is very good but it takes far too long. you can knife someone for about 2.5 seconds and die, from another person, while knifing your enemy.

    things that are awful/majority of the players dislike:
    -a gun called the MSBS, which infinity ward won't make weaker
    -HUGE MAPS, I MEAN HUGE MAPS ABSOLUTLY GIANT MAPS. (this is comparing them to past COD maps.)
    -many maps are disliked throughout the community.
    -broken deadsilence, can hear footsteps even with it on. (competitive players dislike this.)
    -BARLEY SUPPORTS COMPETITIVE!!!
    (with BO2 being such a success with competetive call of duty, ghosts just kills it. they did not bring hardpoint back, they TOOK OUT capture the flag and replaced it with blitz. ((BLITZ IS NOT THE SAME AS CTF, NOT EVEN CLOSE))
    -NO THEATER
    -game started out with no SnD play list.
    -only 6 guns per category, some only have 4
    -NEW GUN CLASS CALLED MARKSMAN (overpowered guns that can be fired fast, can kill in 2 bullets and can scope in as far as a sniper. some dont have much recoil.)
    -DOG KILLSTREAK. oh my god this killstreak is the worse thing that has happened to call of duty. its a dog that is a 5 POINT streak. it runs around following its master. it can ONE shot people with its bite and is around 3 TIMES harder to kill than a person. A LOT OF TIMES IT CAN GLITCH THROUGH WALLS, SIT IN A CORNER OR BECOME INVISIBLE AND RE-APPEAR TO KILL YOU.
    -besides for the dog killstreak, most other killstreaks are bad and arent worth getting the kills for.
    -brought back the different pointstreaks per class.
    -did i mention how big the maps are?
    -leaning can be broken at times, bugs out and just keeps leaning back and forth
    -you have very little health. I MEAN IT. you can die from 2-3 bullets to the leg. 1-2 bullets to the head.
    -did i mention how annoying dogs are? it can take up to 10-12 bullets to kill one and YOU CAN NOT KNIFE IT (unless really weak.) YOU WILL GET A HITMARKER
    -you DO NOT pick up dog tags while knifing a player
    -LAST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, INFINITY WARD IS NOT LISTENING TO THEIR PLAYERS

    so, if you were looking for a breakdown of the game, you can read my big list of things that are wrong with the game. and i actually gave this game a rating instead of a 0. this game is better than a 0 because it can provide some entertaining moments.

    last thing, they spent SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much time on character customization, but you barley see your player in game. infact they spent so much time on it that they forgot to create better/more guns.    … Expand

The game is bad. It is a simple rehash of MW2 and 3 and adds NOTHING new to the table. The campaign lacks complete imagination and the online is dreadful and boring. Hopefully IW and activision can pull it together before they buyer the CoD series. Or just hand the project off to Treyarch… Expand

    I tried! I really tried to like this game! Customizing your soldier and the new guns that they have to offer is a great addition to the new Call of Duty series. However, the multiplayer team death match modes rarely allow players to reach the kill limit because the maps are so big. There aren't any choke points like in previous installments of the Modern Warfare or Black Ops versions. ToI tried! I really tried to like this game!     Worst game I have ever bought for a first person shooter. Lazy effort put into this game by the creators people are hacking this game out of its mind and they are sitting back not doing anything about it. I have never had a problem with these guys until this game. if you are reading this and haven't wasted your money yet don't buy this game it is the worst $70 you will ever spend.

    This is by far the worst Call of Duty to date. The ranking system is awful, the maps are awful and the money system is awful. The game is nothing but a let down. I have had every Call of Duty made and wish I could say anything good about this one but I cant.

    this is by far the worst call of duty game I have ever played..... I'd rather play world at war than this. infinity ward used to have some good games like MW3 which I wasn't to big of a fan of on multiplayer but the single player was my favorite cod campaign yet. the campaign and online experiences are garbage....I couldn't even finish the single player for ghost

All maps are geared to snipers, in real warfare snipers make up less than 1% and dont run around why is your game biased to them. Utter rubbish traded in no more cod for me.     The Game is terrible. Quickscoping still exists, and sniper rifles are even more overpowered because of the bigger maps. C4 throwing, Y-Ying, and pretty much every other exploit still exists. The only good things are the graphics.

The guns are overpowered, the maps are weird, camping is more annoying than ever, you die more easily, you cannot even run with the juggernaut, the games are so small, the graphics are absurd, and the destruction is ridiculous. This game is the worst game I have ever had the misfortune of playing. I wasted ten minutes of my life playing this piece of crap.

    I felt very let down by this game. The build up for it was great and the marketing campaign phenomenal. However, the final product was incredibly sub-par. Yes, the improvement in graphics and minor aspects of gameplay are noticeable; however, besides an anticlimactic campaign with a frustrating ending, the multiplayer leaves much to be desired. It is a redo of previous COD games and itI felt very let down by this game. The build up for it was great and the marketing campaign phenomenal. However, the final product was incredibly sub-par.     I hate all the clan people taking over and ruining playing multi-player.
    I hate the incorrect matchups. It's a computer, statistics, do better!
    I hate the wait times to spawn in!
    You can count on getting shot immediately up spawn in!
    I hate the lag! I have a 30mb download and 20mb upload. Pure lag from Activsion servers!

    The story was pretty cheesy, and the multiplayer was pretty bad, as you would get killed every time you spawned, especially on Blitz.

So while looking for the opponents, they're camping waiting for you around the corner. There's not enough assault kill streaks. No gun game. I play it on my ps4, so IThis is the worst call of Duty made thus far, the maps are huge for no reason. The guns suck. No spy planes. Overall prognosis, ghost sucks. Can't wait til November for the new Black Ops. I don't even play ghost that much, not even that long. I would play Black Ops for hours on in, smaller in your face maps, making it a rush, shoot em up style. Not like Ghost where most of the games end because time ran out. I might just stop playing it and switch to playing sports games only. P.S. I wish I could give it a negative score on top of another negative to the 3rd power.     BEGIN!

    - Same old generic campaign
    - Awful multiplayer spawns
    - **** DOG killstreak
    - Awful multiplayer maps

    - No campaign choices/loadout customization (BO2 Did it....)
    - 850 **** kills with a chrome barrel for a ghillie suit? What if i'm no good with snipers?! UNFAIR!
    - Marksmen rifles overpowered

    - Extinction is stupid
    - Squads are stupid
    - Why would Hesh be so insistant on killing Rorke himself? Why not just jump off the train, then have the space guys ODIN the **** out of the train? Boom.... Problem Solved

    This game is a huge disappointment. The multiplayer is very slow paced because of the huge maps. They brought back one if the most annoying perk in the cod franchise, Danger Close. Theses Battlefield sized maps causes people to camp with snipers. The gamemode Cranked doesnt make the game any better because the maps are huge and it can take forever to find person to kill before you die.This game is a huge disappointment.     No. Just no. This game was supposed to have all of this "Next Gen Gameplay." Well so far, I've seen none of that. This "Freefall bonus map" was supposed to have all of this levolution. The only levolution present is the occasional animation of the building falling, which in my opinion, isn't even levolution. Half of the guns in the game were taken from previous games and thrown in CoDNo. Just no. This game was supposed to have all of this "Next Gen Gameplay." Well so far, I've seen none of that. This "Freefall bonus map" was supposed to have all of this levolution. The only levolution present is the occasional animation of the building falling, which in my opinion, isn't even levolution. Half of the guns in the game were taken from previous games and thrown in CoD Ghosts with a new name. The Remington RS (ACR in MW3) is overpowered as usual. But! They've put in a new class of weapons, marksman rifles! Can you say overpowered much? These things are more overpowered than LMG's! No kick, two shot kill, huge ammo capacity. You can even put burst fire on it! LMG's are still very overpowered though, typical CoD. Riot shields are more overpowered than ever, using C4 and danger close. Now there are a few decent improvements, such as being able to customize your characters, but the levelution that was supposed to be very present, isn't anywhere to be found. You can get KEM Strikes (MOAB from MW3) in care packages now, making them less special. You can be a pro and go 25-0 while some other person is going 3-17, but he gets a KEM Strike too. The guard dog is insanely overpowered, as it takes three shots using a bolt-action sniper with increased damage to kill. There are also IED's, which are pretty much miniature IMS's that can be equipped as a lethal. You can no longer go prone to avoid IMS's as well, you here that sound and you go "Yup, I'm dead." The game feels exactly the same as MW3, even the sounds and animations. In a nutshell, this game isn't worth half of the money that they want for it. The campaign was honestly decent, and I'll give them props for that. That's really the only part of the game that doesn't make me want to rip someone's head off, along with extinction. Extinction is actually quite fun. It isn't like that promised "Zombie Campaign" that was promised in Black Ops 2. There is actually a strong storyline that you're forced to go through, unlike in Black Ops 2 where you just went through wave after wave and nobody really cared about the storyline. It's your typical CoD game, and that doesn't surprise me one bit. Not worth buying unless you're only in it for the campaign. The campaign doesn't make it worth $60, though.… Expand

    infinity ward went backwards, how can you mess up the formula so bad that you go backwards with your game? All assault rifles (which are less than the prequel) do kind of the same damage, have the same recoil, the same freaking everything. if that wasn't enough, you die so freaking fast that it is just a game of stealth now. and to top it all off you have to pay extra money to buy some newinfinity ward went backwards, how can you mess up the formula so bad that you go backwards with your game?     This game feels like a copy/paste of all of the past games in the series. I don't even consider new CoD games as new, just the past game with some tweaked maps and new guns. The big question is why are we shelling out all of this money when there are better FPS's that are free.

Also the grafics are bad, they look like grafics from CoD World at War, and this is FIVE years after it, I'd have a better time playing Doom on SNES if I only cared about grafics.     There's no reason for a game to be so horrible. Single player was weak as piss, and the online is the same as it ever was. In fact, I get more enjoyment out of playing Black Ops 2 multiplayer.

    Also what's with the abysmal frame-rate? This is coming from a person who can run Crysis 3 maxed out 110 FPS.

I'm not going to be one of those COD haters, because I generally liked some of the COD games, I even found them enjoyable for a couple of months, but this game is perhaps the biggest disappointment, As soon as I played the campaign through I couldn't believe what I had just played, it was terrible, there was no innovation, the gameplay was exactly like other titles and it's like they're not even trying anymore, the story was boring, the guns and gun sounds were basic and the characters were boring, not to spoil the story but I even laughed when Elias died because they tried to make it seem like a touching scene, but I felt no emotional attachment to the character whatsoever.
    Moving onto the multiplayer and it becomes even more terrible, there is no need to play any objectives, no incentive to do anything, boring maps and no music to have any atmosphere in the game at all. The COD series now has unfortunately become a cheap money grab, and IW have no need to change at all if we keep buying this crap excuse for a game, has to be one of the worst games I have played for a long time    … Expand

    It feels like I played this game 4 years ago. The netcode is broken, with folks rubberbanding and sliding around. The level design has taken a step backwards and the overall experience is..."lesser." I've played the campaign and I've played hours of the single player and I am done. Back it goes to Gamestop; I am moving on to Battlefield 4.

    I regret getting this game, its the same as mw3 just worse. They removed search and destroy, and the graphics look like a game from 2008! The single player is not even notable anymore, all of this is crappy and the only good quality is the extinction mode enough said.

    The only positive that came out of this game was a tested engine for Treyarch to capitalize on for their next iteration in the franchise. Save your money IW has gone to since its fiasco in 2010 firing the now vengeful squad making Titanfall.

    I was also very disappointed with the "customize your soldier", I was expecting something along the lines of rainbow six ,but it was more like GTA 4's customization options; barely anything to choose from.
    My major complaint though is the removal of Search and Destroy from pub games, I used to love playing Search and Destroy with my team, now its been replaced by this stupid search and kill confirm game type.
    The series sure went down hill after they fired West and Zampella. MW2 was a masterpiece, after that, it was the same call of duty trash. The series has officially died for me. Time to move on. Looking forward to Titan fall, which IMO is the true successor to MW2.    … Expand

    - Took away the ping thing when you look at scores.
    - ‘Sat Coms’ (replaced UAVs)… are sortof useless. The whole point of it is to have a UAV that’s placed on the map, instead of plying in the air.. however.. I found that they don’t do much in showing people on the map. And… they self destruct wayyy to quickly. What’s the purpose in putting in effort into hiding it well when they just blow up shortly after placing it?
    - Characters and models… blend in wayy too much. Both just look like a grey blob. Makes camping soo much easier cause it’s too tough to notice people sitting still.
    - I don’t know if it’s just me… but, there’s something off about how fast and easy it is to get killed.. For example, you seem to just die instantly, but then you watch the kill cam and see he pumped 6 or 7 shots into you and makes you wonder why it only felt like one.
    Conclusion: Skip this one. While trying to the make the game more ‘teamwork’ focused, Infinity Ward broke the simple fun COD game play I’ve come to love. Only way you’ll do alright and not get shot in the back is if you camp… yeah.    … Expand

    Weapons are a step back from Black ops 2, both handling and hit-feedback is the worst i have ever experienced.. almost every time I shoot at someone I look at the death feed to see if i killed the opponent or if i have to keep shooting... graphics on the maps are ok, but as previously mentioned everything else looks like it has been created in MS PAINT..by a 4-year old girl...

    We were looking forward to this new game coming out. We bought it yesterday and played last night. It was VERY disappointing. It seems like the game was not as advanced and fun as BO2 and the excitement and fun went backwards. We went back and started playing BO2. We are going to see if we can return GHOST today. Do not buy. You will be disappointed.

This is even more obnoxious because both are preceded by lengthy cutscenes that cannot be skipped but must be watched ad nauseum.
    If you are playing this for the multiplayer only and no longer expect any length or quality from the single player campaign--well, you expectations have been met. I avoid giving it a zero because the multiplayer is still fun, even if it hasn't really been updated since MW1.    … Expand

Because Activision wanted those guys to go in a different direction than what they wanted. The originals from IW knew what COD gamers wanted, a niche FPS, and they thrived at that. So here we are, with a watered down version of what used to be. These things happen unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The only way to make your voice heard is through your money. I have poured 100s if not 1000s of dollars into this franchise and related items, and up until now, have received great return in the form of fun and entertainment. It's sad to see this franchise go in this way, but that just leaves us with new doors to open and explore. This may not be the death of COD, but an awakening for Activision. We can only hope.… Expand

    Horrible... Not only did Activion do a terrible job on the campaign.. they also ruined the Multiplayer/competitive aspect of the game as well as the Zombie community by introducing thier sad excuse extinction. Oh and to add insult to injury they also charged $60 for this.

Single player is not the reason to buy the game, there is a reason maybe for replayability in the aliens mode but that ends here.     Being a long time cod player and taking a break because of things like camping, spawn camping, frustration with cheep play and inconsistent game play, I played my brothers copy of BO2 and looked toward to Ghost. What a let down!!
    The multi maps are horrific perfect for camping. I can't walk into a room with out getting shot from three places.     Campaign is just ok while visually stunning it lacks substance, guns are the only cool part as long as you use Assault and smgs or snips you will be out gunned.

The graphics are terrible, the campaign was mindless, and the multiplayer is idiotic. There is no strategy, the maps are way too open and large for 6 on 6 play. With the random spawn points you are dead within a few seconds of spawning half the time.

    I don't think the campaign has any AI, not like you really care when you are playing it. Everything is so cheesy with set pieces trying so hard to be cool that the game feels like a joke. Like IW decided to make a game as bad as they possibly could and see how many pro reviewers would still give it an 8-10.

    Just when I thought the game couldn't get any worse, it ended. The ending was so bad I almost wanted to throw my controller though my TV. Perhaps I should have since I have a Gorilla Glass screen. Maybe if it did break I could add something else Infinity Ward should pay for. Not only should they give me a refund, but they should have to pay me for my time to play the piece of crap to at least think I got my money's worth. I've played a lot of games but that ending was one of the worst in history.

    The only good part is that I didn't encounter any bugs and the framerate was pretty smooth. Yes the campaign stages were varied, but just because a level is set in outer space or under water doesn't make it good.

    It's like IW tried to make Domination so unplayable that it would force people to play the new multiplayer modes that aren't even fun. Black Ops maps were laid out well, but I skipped BOII. Both Modern Warfare games were a blast in multiplayer. I've tried to play Ghosts multiplayer for a week and have given up. It is about as fun as getting your teeth drilled. Wow I ran around the massive castle map and didn't see a single player, then I died without seeing who shot me, then spawned and was immediately shot again. You can practically take flags at will in domination because there are not enough players to populate the map and the maps are so open.

    I am not being harsh enough. The game is that bad. If you rated this game higher than a 0, there is something wrong with you. Last year's Medal of Honor was a perfect 10 compared to Ghosts. The multiplayer had its problems at launch but the first patch really turned that game around. There was strategy and skill required, the game was genuinely fun.

    When you play a masterpiece like The Last of Us and then play this game, it makes you want to quit gaming forever. Thanks Infinity Ward you made me question ever buying a video game again.    … Expand

    One big piece of crap! Played in all CoD games (except 3) with pleasure, but this is the worst CoD ever! Weapons plastic, sound disgusting, dog, which was the main feature of the game, made a very bad! True epic fail! CoD, please change or die.

    There are too many bugs. And why 6gb ram for this game and will need?
    Compared before and better, but I still long is too low.
    Lost to Battlefield 4 is clear.

    This should be announced the scam of the year. The game is so terrible it hurts. Wooden animations, low quality textures, small maps, camera going through objects, poor sounds, etc.
    They even copied Modern Warfare 2 ending.... pathetic. And they ask that much for this? Stop treating gamers as idiots already.
