Perfect multiplayer, Sub-bar story that weaves kind of well into BO1, and an over-hated assortment of zombies maps that are really fun in different settings.

overrated but that doesn't mean its horrible its just the zombies mode isn't the best and the multiplayer is basic but with friends this game can be pretty fun! just load zombies with a friend and you guys will be stuck playing for a little while!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanna talk first about the base game, no DLCs.

The game IS the most **** perfect game that ever touched the earth, the perfect union between past and the future of the campaign that made every mission count, even the side quest made a new type of play of the missions in it, unlockables the score design that made the game replayable, and the different endings depending of the choices, it was the most perfect campaign ever made to this day.

Now the multiplayer the maps and the weapons are perfectly designed and balanced the clicks and the reloads are made in a way that makes it satisfactory everytime, the sounds, the kills, the medals, the statistics, every aspect of this game makes me want more and the 10 accesories class makes it even more balanced, its just the perfect mode to have some fun with friends.

And now onto zombies the zombies are meh. tranzit was depressing, i really liked it before, but now that i have played it more as a critic than a player, its actually really bad, the denizens, the electricity and the pap+ the wonder weapon or jetgun are reallly complicated than it should be, and btw jetgun is **** **** green run as a whole is **** but if we just take out the maps and talk about town farm and depot, they are good, simple but really, really fun and i have very fond memories with it, still it doesn't make tranzit better in any way, but a good addon.

    Now onto the first DLC

The peacekeeper was a really good gun, precise and all, but still balanced.
Grind is **** marvelous, hydro and down hill are good as well i didn't really like mirage but its solid, die rise was **** horrendous, the verticality made it not fun, in theory was good and if you know how to play it is fun, but it isn't family friendly, slidiquifier is op, not game breaker like prepatch but its there, and the turned mode with friends was fun af, with randoms is fun too, caotic but really good design and easy to get around with the powerups.

    Second DLC

The MP had good maps, Studio and Encore were great designed, specially encore, i really like the use of a concert for it, and studio because of the movie things it had, magma was an ok map, the middle is really open but still solid, vertigo was really simple, three way map, the middle was chaotic.
Mob of the dead was perfect, the blundergat, the atmosphere of the jail, the zombies design, the afterlife, the characters, it all made it an all round masterpiece, the easter egg were you had to break the cycle was marvelous too, i'm just gonna say that its a map that you can still play this day and still get amazed by it, just a pure masterpiece.

    Third DLC

Cove was fun, a round map and really solid with the plane in between
Uplink was good too, but it was just a remaster, still a good atmosphere.
Rush was and is **** awesome, i like being in a paintball park shooting, and really good mapping.
Detour was fun with the two floor map, two ways to play the map and gave good rotation tactics.
Buried was a really fun map, with two wonder weapons, the colors and the mechanics such as leroy and the use of it in every way possible+ the bank made it a fun map to go goofing around.
And the mark II that was in every map if you buyed buried was a PERFECT input, really good gun for giving more to go for in the box, and the 21x multiplier is awesome.

    The fourth and last DLC

Im gonna talk first about pod, its a really average map, its good but nothing to say about it out of “its there”
Takeoff its good, good mapping and verticality, not too much but there were good sniping spots.
Frost was good, but mostly the atmosphere, i really liked the snow and the city it was made of. It was a really fun map.
Dig is really good, the two floor map made it perfect for trickshots, but it was weird, the map was really flat, but not flat like bland, literally flat.

Now… onto the best zombies map ever created, Origins I gotta start with the atmosphere, WW1 and the zombies design, all perfectly made to make you feel that everything is real, you're not dreaming, i don't know why but I still get chills when i hear the panzer going in at round 8, and the wonder weapons, since I don't wanna spoil anything, i just gotta say, that the way they are made and upgraded make so good sense you feel that it's gotta be made for the reason, the steps, are not complicated and can be tricky, but i gotta give this map the medal of the best zombies map ever made.
I didn’t wanna go into much details since 5000 characters aren't enough to explain how much i love this game, it changed my life for the better, if you have the chance its a must play in my opinion, thank you for reading this.

The campaign is what really separates Black Ops 2 from the other Call of Dutys. For the first time ever, the campaign featured a branching story line, which I must say worked out pretty well. The campaign also introduced choosing your load out before a mission which is such an appreciated quality of life change that adds replay-ability to the campaign.

    The multiplayer wasn’t anything

The multiplayer wasn’t anything special, but it wasn’t bad either. Black Ops 2 dips it’s toes in the water of a more futuristic setting without going all in, so the weapons and gear reflect that. The map selection is great and has pretty good collection of classics and originals.

Zombies is the main reason why a player might consider purchasing some of the downloadable content. The maps available for free are well, not enjoyable, many people have already gone into detail about why so I won’t linger on it. However, the dlc maps like Mob of the Dead, Buried, and Origins are great and deserve recognition.

This is a great action packed sequel, with a really good campaign that gives you the possibility to make choices and alter the story.

Gunplay is fast paced while keeping some realistic elements from the past. The game does a very good job at mixing grounded war with futuristic elements, without going way too far. It also contains the best zombies mode in the series, the maps are iconic

The entire game is very complex all the way from the multiple choices/endings in the campaign, and the multiple easter eggs for zombies you are able to complete. This game does have some of the best maps in the series ranging from Mob of the Dead and clearly the best map, Tranzit. This game has a really fun multiplayer local or online, and it hardly takes long to learn how to play. In conclusion, Jason you have no taste in game. Expand

Great sequel to black ops! I understand that not everyone must like those futuristic moments in CoD... But here those moments were really good. It was nice to finally see some changes in mechanics. In terms of story game is superb! Mix of old and future warfare. Giving players some choices is also very nice. And the Avenged Sevenfold gig at the end was mind-blowing! Really awesome game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The BO2 Campaign not only follows up after BO1 Campaign but what made the BO2 Campaign amazing was that it had a branching storyline & there were multiple endings like saving "Karma" and killing Menendez or not saving "Karma" and capturing Menendez. Any of those endings could happen in any way possible because you have complete control of the whole mission. The feature I loved about BO2's campaign the most was that you can create custom load-outs for the mission where as the past campaigns give a preset loadout you can't edit. You can create a stealth class for Running & Gunning loudly or you can loudly run & gun through a stealth mission, that feature gave me the most excitement for playing the campaign.

Black Ops 2 Multiplayer was very addicting since it added League Play which separated the casual players from the sweaty, try-hard players, Wager Matches weren't brought back but all of those Party Games from Wager Matches were brought back and still gave a fun & casual experience for the player. The Pick-10 System is one of the best features added to Call of Duty where you can put anything on classes like any Primaries, Secondaries, Grenades, Perks, and Wildcards.

Black Ops 2 may arguably have the best Zombies Experience in the series because of all maps adding more guns, perk-a-colas, bosses, wonder weapons, wonder items, & build-ables. All of the Maps were recognizable and memorable for either being bad like Tranzit or great like Origins. TBH, Black Ops 2 would've been perfect all around if Tranzit & Die Rise wasn't bad.

Recurring characters from BO1, A new bad guy (Menendez) and new characters (David M, Harper, Salazar etc.) It was a complete shame that Treyarch threw all of the amazing things about BO1 and 2 out of the window with BO3. Multiplayer - This games multiplayer was very addictive and fun. Most of the community call this games multiplayer the best in the series (which I can agree with.) Weapon variety and balancing is spot-on in this game. The pick-10 system gave the players more freedom in what the wanted to use in combat. There isn’t much to complain about in this multiplayer, besides maybe modders infesting the game, which is bad but ironic for a game of this age.

Zombies - The zombies in this game is ok in my opinion. It was a step down from WaW and BO1 by a bit for me, but I can understand it’s appeal to the masses. The maps on here are pretty average and not too special, the general fun factor isn’t really there either. Not great but not bad simultaneously. Overall rankings:

I have played over 1000 games across many different consoles starting on game boy color and all the way up to the new PS5 and I would say that out of all of these the best would have to be Call of Duty Black Ops II for a few reasons. The game is easily accessible and you can switch game modes with two button presses. The campaign while not the best of all time, the multiple endings really made it very good. The multiplayer feels very similar to other older Call of Duty’s except for a few certain features like the swarm, wide variety of maps, and great weapons. Last but definitely not least is the zombies, the best thing to happen to the Call of Duty franchise. The zombies maps feel new unlike the bo1 maps that were mostly remade WaW maps. The wonder weapons really give each map their own feel. That is why Black Ops II is the best game I have ever played and most likely will play. Expand

The campaign was honestly the best in the series. The non linear levels were a good change of pace, and the changeable story was great too. The multiplayer was my second favorite in the series and is still fun. The only issue is the zombies map Tranzit, but the dlc was some of the best maps in zombies, so it partially made up for it.

The killstreak and the pointstreak system are much more fun than the scorestreak system as scorestreak kills only give 25 score towards the next killstreak....
And regarding the zombies mode I didn't really like it compared to all the other treyarch games.

After the events of Black Ops, the futuristic setting and approach from Treyarch still satisfies players till this day. This game still has its mojo in terms of delivering an intense story and fluid multiplayer, but the zombies mode doesn’t quite pack a punch. Overall, it’s quite familiar but not as masterfully crafted as the first Black Ops.

Black Ops 2 has a really well put together campaign that introduces a whole new perspective on how the campaign should be set up. The addition of customizable classes and cool mission set-ups like the mission on Drone (Map). With this solid gameplay of the campaign, there are also two modes prior to the campaign: the good-old Multiplayer and the revive of Zombies. Multiplayer is very interesting, keeping most of its assets from the original Black Ops. The weapons reuse the same firing sounds and reload sounds, and 95% of the guns are overpowered as can be. There is new attachments such as iron sights for the sniper (Ballista), Hybrid Scope, Target Finder Sight, etc. With a new multiplayer comes new maps. The feeling of the maps are mixed, some are really liked by the community (Hijacked, Nuketown 2025, Carrier), and some are hated among the community (Yemen, Aftermath, Cargo). The video and screenshot sharing is still alive, and playercards are way more sophisticated. Prestige system is still pretty much the same. Now-a-days, modding infects the video sharing service and Search & Destroy matches. The Zombies mode had good gameplay, but not really good maps (if you never purchased any maps). Tranzit is a good idea that wasn't produced very well. The fog, the Denizens, the lava, the constant fear of the Avogadro. It all is more worrying than it is fun. I still believe that Zombies was great. Town was solid, with the three Pack-A-Punch system and the revival of old Black Ops guns. Tombstone and new perk jingles. All of it was immensely spectacular game with simple flaws that others take way too seriously. This game was a huge motivation to make even greater games from Treyarch, leading up to Black Ops 3 and 4. I hope one of these days that this game or the original Black Ops gets remastered, because these games are works of art. Expand

Zombies weren't as good as in BO, it started getting too convoluted for my taste, but I had fun with some of it.

I type this review because this is a great game and the campaign is a big reason for it! I'm amazingly disappointed that BO4 will not have a campaign. SOOOO disappointed, that I will not be buying it. The COD campaign is 90% of why I buy COD games. Zombies are 9% and multiplayer 1%. I like the adventures... Bring back the campaign and I'll start buying COD again.

And why pick a Black Ops game to stop the campaigns?? BO games had the best stories... again, disappointed. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I hope COD brings back campaigns going forward. Until then, COD will not be getting my money...

BUT.... BO2 does and did rock! High score from me...

staying on the bus is a hassle especially playing with others, and making the pack a punch is dumb

Nuketown: short, difficult, and pretty sweet.
The map is very small, but in some cases that is a good thing.
the way the perks work is annoying but doesnt ruin the experience

Mob of the dead: Great mechanics, awesome setting, but a bit on the difficult side.
You start out in the afterlife, a mode of transportation where you can go through some kinds of walls and turn on power
you have to revive your player in time or you die.
there are certain power outlets that you can kill yourself with so you can use the abilities of the after life.
The level is enjoyable but not the greatest in my opinion.
Die Rise: I like the setting of the skyscraper environment, but theres a lot of ways to kill yourself, or get cornered if you take the first elevator.
    overall, a pretty fun map

The multiplayer, from what I played, is a ton of fun, too. Granted, there are such things as noobs, screamers, bad hosts, and etc., but the multiplayer can be a lot of fun when things are done well. However, Treyarch could've fixed the customization in the emblems a tiny bit more than we got. The amount of times I see something... offensive is kind of crazy. But, if you want a decent futuristic CoD mutilplayer, this game will do.
The biggest problems I have are 1) some of the weapons in the multiplayer are a little too... insta-killy. Some of the Assault Rifles and Shotguns and Snipers and kill you easily. And 2) Zombies is a waste of time and fun. Don't bother with this game's Zombies mode.
Other than those, this game's actually pretty good.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Black ops 2 has the best feeling snipers ever. It has a dank slug shot and also the Remington. The campaign follows on from black ops 1 and further develops old characters returning to the series. No supply drops or micro transactions. No day 1 DLC. All DLC added new and FUN content such as maps and zombies mods. The peacekeeper was added in dlc however it wasn't overpowered and pay to win. Recently it has been plagued by hackers but in the prime days of this game it was the most fun i have ever had on any call of duty game ever. Everyone is good with different weapons within the game creating variety throughout the playing field. Snipers are deadly if used correct but awful if you cant use them. The kill streaks feel unique and rewarding and also giving streaks for points rather than kills rewards less skilled players or people who have their kills stolen to create fun for people lower than the skill gap that existed. League play on black ops 2 was tense and amazing struggling to get to a higher rank to be proud of on your profile. The emblem creator was creative and allowed freedom for the people who took the time to make art. Theater mode helped showcase good kills and find hackers creating another reason for a clean and varied battleground. The community formed many competitions and kept engaged throughout the lifespan of this game which is why i think personally in my opinion this game is the most enjoyable of the cod series. Not the most content or least buggy but the most enjoyable like a game should be :) Expand

    Campaign: 8.3/10

Black Ops 2 has some of the strongest story-telling they have ever shown. And we love it. It evolves from just a simple triple-A shooter to a detailed and complex Call of Duty game. They have shown us that Call of Duty isn't just shooting and can even better then most actions films of these days. The story is detailed and very well written. We believe that Black Ops 2 is the Activisions strongest game in terms of Story.

    Multiplayer: 8/10

Call of Duty's multiplayer this year is as fun as it was in MW2. In fact its even better. The multiplayer in this years Call of Duty is the most ambitious yet. I hated MW2's multiplayer but for the people who liked it your gonna love this. This years Call of Duty is colorful and very much played its predecessors.

    Zombies: 9/10

Another great Zombies experience from treyarch. When will they ever go wrong with zombies? Everyone loves it. I think this years zombie is just as good as its predecessors.

    Verdict.

Black Ops 2 is a step up in just about every way possible from the first Black Ops, and a refreshing change of pace from MW3, which felt too similar to MW2 in too many ways. The campaign is as bombastic as ever (with branching paths and unique endings), the multiplayer has been tweaked just enough to keep things interesting, and the zombies are back as Treyarch's well-known signature on the franchise. There are a few things that don't work quite as well as they could have (the Strike Force missions are wonky in the A.I. department), and the execution of some of the plot elements are ham-fisted at times, as with just about any other CoD title. If you liked Black Ops or you're into fast-paced shooters, Blops 2 is a no-brainer.

A very fun multiplayer tainted by poor hit detection and terrible lag compensation. The first half of the match 2-3 bullet kills. "Switching sides" 5-6 bullet kills.

Best BO game. The campaign was engaging and very fun to play. The multiple options having different effects later on in the game was something new that I enjoyed. Online was fun but I felt they went too far with the customizability. A little structure in COD is always good IMO. If you’ve been living under a rock over the last couple of months let me bring to your attention, Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Formed by the team at Treyarch and brought to the world by Activision. BLOPs II as it’s widely known takes us on a journey from 1986 all the way to the future, 2025 to be exact.

In this fast paced First-Person-Shooter the campaign drops you in the boots of Alex and David Mason, a father and son combo along with other roles as sub-characters as the story progresses through multiple choices/ endings. Everyone was optimistic of how the game would lay between the past release and this current second title. But the link between the two time eras slot together in my eyes perfectly, laying down the storyline with force and action. Although there may be too many cut scenes for the personal taste, I stayed gripped and was fascinated by all the new tech and side missions, named Strike Force.

The Strike Force missions were a great insight into the multi-player maps as these are both two of the same, so when I did venture onto the huge multi-player goodness, I was equip with the Intel and ammo ready to take on the world. The only problem whilst aiming through the online MP was the host migration and connection problems, which are being ironed out. This still didn’t deter from playing endless games in the mass variety of play-lists from Kill Confirmed and Domination through to the good old Party Games of Gun Game and Sticks & Stones that BLOPS is renowned for.

A great new online feature to highlight is League Play, with the developers taking great thought into the pro gaming/ eSports following. Players are put through their skill base in different class leagues in a tournament style layout, the more you win the more you progress, from the Iron League or with the top flight in the Masters League. All weapons are unlocked also, so there is no blaming the gun that you have picked from the vast array that’s at hand. If all this is a bit too much for you and you just want to, I don’t know, shot Zombies?!? Then come on in!

Zombies Mode is a groovy addition to the BLOPS series, with a lot of people gunning to just play this mode alone. Many maps are available with a good chunk of achievements/ trophies being held here for endless zombie hordes and crazy voices. The new improved look & play is great and reminiscent of its predecessor. Party up or go it lone ranger it’s up to you, but believe me safety, is as they say, in numbers.

There is so much detail that can discussed but its best to just go and buy this game, you shall not be disappointed. If you do and come across some dude running around with Monk above his head, that would be me, so say hi & please… don’t shoot me.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is first person shooter game. It has a big selection of guns and score streaks. There are 15 standard maps and 16 DLC maps. Black Ops 2 has zombie mode which has 3 standard maps and 5 DLC maps. The graphics are average as game was released in 2012, but by that time the graphics were good. The sound is realistic. The pluses of this game are:
    • Good graphics
    • Good

Once again Treyarch and Activision has done another successful Call of duty game. This is not to say it's a bad game, it's just not different enough from previous Call of Duty titles. The story isn't memorable, the maps and weapons aren't any different to what we've previously experienced, the gameplay is near identical to previous games, and when it's not identical it falls flat and fails to impress.

It's fun, and an indication that Treyarch is willing to explore ideas that Infinity Ward has thus far ignored. [Issue#93, p.74]

If the original Black Ops was Treyarch's coming-out party, then Black Ops 2 is the studio's affirmation that their COD expertise was no flash in the pan. If you're one of the 16 people who hasn't played this gem yet, go buy it now. Conversely, if you're among those who bought the game but hasn't ventured into the single-player campaign (yes, it happens), there's a great narrative and divergent gameplay awaiting your experimentation, so check it out.
