I want to like Arkanoid Live. I really do. I played Arkanoid on the NES like a fiend as a little boy. This Live Arcade version suffers big time from the lack of a wheel controller like the one that was packaged with the NES version. Arkanoid is Breakout without the boredom. Well, without as much. [May 2009, p.83]
  2. In addition to the welcome multiplayer action featured in Arkanoid Live!, Taito also included a rule set different than original coin-op version.

Arkanoid Live is good for some occasional casual fun -- as it's always been and always will be -- but with an iffy aesthetic and not much more variety outside of a standard two-player versus mode, it's probably not something you'll want to boot up often.
