    WarioWare Smooth Moves is the WarioWare I grew up with (Alongside D.I.Y.) and in my opinion is the best game in the series.

    Sure, early Wii motion controls are a bit excessive here, in fact it's the bulk of controlling the game. But, WarioWare Smooth Moves is the only game on the Wii that shows the true power of the controller with its many ways to control the microgames. And the
    WarioWare Smooth Moves is the WarioWare I grew up with (Alongside D.I.Y.) and in my opinion is the best game in the series.

But, WarioWare Smooth Moves is the only game on the Wii that shows the true power of the controller with its many ways to control the microgames. And the presentation is top notch with its very funny tutorials and Multiplayer modes.

    Warioware: Smooth Moves was born to take advantage of the innovation related to the virgin technology of wiimote and motion controls. The game includes a bevy of incredibly entertaining and joyful mini games. It was clever for each character to have specialized ways to hold the Wiimote during mini games giving the player a digestible opportunity to memorize each control scheme. This reviewer’s only complaint is the sometimes finicky nature of Wiimote connection and the lack of forgiveness in game timers that do not pity the unconnected fool.     Fairly fun, if not a little repetitive after a while. Enjoying all the wacky charm this game has, but on the gameplay side it's somewhat weak.

    This game is so much fun, especially with other people. It's fast-paced and very randomized and that's what makes it fun. Now I do have to be in the right mood to play this game, but I still have a fun time even when I'm not in the mood. The motion controls don't work 100% of the time, but that is an issue with a lot of Wii games, so that issue isn't exclusive to this game.

    Not all of the minigames are exceptional, it's pretty short and it gets to a point towards the end where repetition sets in, but this game is so damn fun, *smooth*, quick and well put together that I couldn't complain. It's fun as **** I mean, how the hell did the team even reached these

    I mean, how the hell did the team even reached these ideas? I'm not only talking about the minigames themselves, but the whole package. Presentation, music, graphic style, story (?????) and design. Everything here was cleverly built to make you play, replay and have a blast.

    Some of the greatest times can be had playing this game. A forever wii classic, the function of the wii remote movement controls drive this game to hilarity and consistency.

    Cool and fun game. You have probably a hundred micro games at your disposal and each one is more or less different. I definitely recommend playing because the game also has a cool graphic style.

    Let me tell you, 2006/2007 was a pretty fun time to be a Nintendo fan (at least, it was for 8-9 year old me). Nintendo had just released their shiny, exciting, innovative new Wii system and they'd given us plenty of great games to play on it. Beyond fantastic titles like "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess," "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" and "Super Mario Galaxy," Nintendo experimentedLet me tell you, 2006/2007 was a pretty fun time to be a Nintendo fan (at least, it was for 8-9 year old me). Nintendo had just released their shiny, exciting, innovative new Wii system and they'd given us plenty of great games to play on it. Beyond fantastic titles like "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess," "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" and "Super Mario Galaxy," Nintendo experimented with plenty of games that, in ways, felt like interactive tech demos that showcased the Wii's motion controls. While "Wii Sports" might be the biggest example that might jump to mind, one that I personally loved as a child was "WarioWare: Smooth Moves." Having grown up with several previous installments in the franchise (specifically "WarioWare Inc.: Mega Party Games!" and "WarioWare: Touched!"), I was instantly excited to see the franchise arrive on the Wii, and I ended up sinking a ridiculous amount of time into the game, beating it several times over and never growing tired of it. And having just beaten it again recently, I can say that it definitely hasn't lost its luster.
    The Wii Remote and the "WarioWare" franchise are practically destined to be together: with the series' wacky gameplay style, along with the fact that it's never been afraid to show off what a certain system can do, making a "WarioWare" entry centered around the Wii Remote is fantastic, as it allows the Wii Remote to really show off the range of motions and styles of play the control can create. And it does so in a way that's extremely fun, never letting up in regards to microgame variety and never showing fear in getting a bit goofy. The vibrant, colorful, in-your-face visuals of the game are still as strong as ever, the sound design is rock solid (and the music is extremely memorable), and there's plenty of fun unlockables to pick out throughout the game. What's more, the return of multiplayer is a welcome addition, and the specific multiplayer games are fantastically bizarre and memorable, not only showing off the capabilities of the Wii Remote (and occasionally the Nunchuk), but making for quite the romp if you play it with a good few friends.
    Even so, the game is not without its flaws, chief among them being the short length. It's been beaten to death since the game's release 12 years ago, but really, in my latest playthrough of the game, I was able to beat the story, along with the Kelorometer and Elephant Buildings, in roughly an hour and a half. That's pretty much nothing for a game that's still selling at close to full price, and unless you decide to go through the legwork of playing the game enough to unlock all the microgames (which, even then, probably won't take that long), this is a game that you can beat in a day. Also, while the variety is strong and the Wii Remote's potential is shown off pretty brilliantly, I do think some of the forms can be a bit too difficult to control (I'm looking right at you, Mortar and Pestle), to the point where I wonder if the game would've been better off without them. Perhaps they could've given a few more Nunchuk-based sections, since the game is pretty short on them.
    Even so, I can safely say that "WarioWare: Smooth Moves," even if it gets lost in the pack of quality first-party Wii titles, is still a really great game and a strong showcase of the Wii Remote's potential (well, maybe not so much in 2019 where the Wii is essentially dead, but hey, it's a nice thing to jump back in time to!), and it's another entry in one of Nintendo's more underappreciated franchises. It's a whole lot of fun to play, and despite its short length, there's never a dull moment in this party game extravaganza.

    Only a loner in a basement with a pre-determined mindset could possibly call this game a waste of money. It's an absolute blast. Gamers in my home love to get competitive with this game. Non-gamers in my home end up laughing so hard that they hold their sides in pain and wipe tears from their eyes- even those who aren't playing. And I'm talking about social adults, not little children. TheOnly a loner in a basement with a pre-determined mindset could possibly call this game a waste of money. It's an absolute blast. Don't get me wrong, all the classic characters were there and some new ones as well (who I really liked), and the individual stories are for me the best any WarioWare game offers bar Touched! on the DS, but I blasted through this in less than a day. Whether it be shaking the Wii Remote just right to get your unnamed man across a tightrope, or swinging it for dear life to escape an incoming boulder, the motion controls and interactivity allow for microgames to be fast-paced, to be fun, and most importantly to be enjoyable. And the speaker on the Wii Remote even blurts out random speech and noises from time-to-time, allowing for a more immersive and funny experience. New characters also come along too, most notably the ninja duo of Young Cricket and his teacher Master Mantis, both of whom have been recurring characters in the series.
    But, here's where my main issue with Smooth Moves is, and that's the length. There's only a few quick character missions each, and then the story mode is over and done with, and there's not a whole lot you can do after.
    Overall, Smooth Moves is a highly-enjoyable, fun and humourous game that kids in particular will really enjoy. The addition of motion controls is a welcome one, and gets you up and moving around, and really making you immerse yourself in each seconds-long microgame. Smooth Moves isn't too expensive either, if you have a spare ten pounds or so and you're interested in Smooth Moves then I say just go ahead and buy it. Smooth Moves is great fun... while it lasts that is.

    It's pretty lackluster compared to the GBA original. Each microgame only has 3 difficulty levels. It doesn't scale up forever like in the GBA game, so there's very little replay value. The multiplayer minigames are lackluster as well. There are collectable cards that are sort of awarded to you at random and really aren't worth taking the time to collect, so completionists will not likeIt's pretty lackluster compared to the GBA original. Each microgame only has 3 difficulty levels. It doesn't scale up forever like in the GBA game, so there's very little replay value. The multiplayer minigames are lackluster as well. There are collectable cards that are sort of awarded to you at random and really aren't worth taking the time to collect, so completionists will not like this game.     If you’ve played other games in the series, you know how crazy Wario’s money scheme of a game can be, with short amounts of time to do things from sharpening pencils to picking noses (yes, it’s true). For those of you who haven’t, be prepared, because Wario is lazy and impatient, and the very short and simple microgames he makes show it off.

    Since this was made for the Wii, motion controls and the sensor bar are almost the only things that you use (aside from a few clicks of the A and B buttons), though the microgames Nintendo has come up with are original and fun despite being weird and short. Actions range from shaking to swinging to dancing, and the game never feels too easy - there are actually some that are more difficult than others, though this doesn’t feel negative in any way. And there are about 20 starting ‘forms’, or positions, at the start of each microgame, which tells you how you should position yourself for each game, like holding the Wii Remote vertically or holding it on top of your head.

    I can’t say anything specific about the microgame graphics - they’re all meant to give a different feel to the games. One microgame might be a 3D flipping of a pancake, and the next might be pixel Mario collecting coins from a block. The cutscenes and world map have a cartoonish style, but there isn’t much animation in the characters, they’re all either stop motions or moving pictures. Then there’s the sound. There’s music everywhere; there’s almost always music playing. The sound effects are really fitting if not sometimes funny, like when Wario bursts out from a wanted poster you had to flatten on to the wall.

    Although the story part of the game is short and could be completed in a few hours, you only discover half of the microgames the first time ‘round. There are over 200 microgames, and if you want them all, you have to replay the section in which the microgame comes from, which can get a little bit repetitive if you’re unlucky. Every time you play, the game randomizes the microgames that you go through. After a certain amount of microgames, they get faster and you have less time to complete them, and eventually you’ll get to a boss game, that is challenging but has no time limit. After that, the minigames become harder, and you’ll cycle through that 3 times before reaching a point where every microgame you play gets a little bit faster.

    After completing the game, there are the extras. First there’s the actual, full games, which include a bird version of Space Invaders and a block stacking game. Then there’s a set of microgames that use the Balance Stone, a.k.a the Nunchuk. There’s a fitness-type stage that has you moving a lot. There’s a sound studio, and finally, there are four games that mix up all the microgames in different ways, for example, starting out really fast or not telling you what form to use.

    Fast and fun, WarioWare Smooth Moves has over 200 microgames and makes really good use of the Wii’s motion controls and sensor bar, though multiplayer could be improved a bit with more game modes and multi-controller support.

    *This is part of a school project for review writing, but still, consider this as a legitimate review, as it is mostly based on my experience.

    If you don't have friends or family DON'T BUY THIS GAME! The single player is very easy and I beat it within 4 hours and had every mode unlocked. This game is extremely fun to play with other people, but not a very good experience alone.

    Perfect party game! If you and your friends are drinking and looking to play a fun game, this is it. It get's everyone involved and is always a blassssssssssssssssttttttttttttttttt!

    Smooth mooves as some of the best fun you can have with friends or by yourself... for about an hour. The problem with such short minigames is that they don't add up to much game. Anybody with a pulse and a working body will have fun with Smooth Mooves, but just not for long. Surely worth renting.

    WarioWare could only be called a good game if you like fun. The controls are great and everything about this game is pure delight. Highly recommended for children, drunks, and anyone else who knows how to have a good time.

Once the nunchuk gets involved, gameplay becomes very challenging -- I doubt anyone calling the game easy has made it to the "red elephant." Playing the hard levels works up a sweat and requires a fair amount of mental agility to keep up. While the majority of controls and concepts are very intuitive, there are a couple I still don't understand and fail at every time the mini-game comes up. The game is absolutely hilarious in some parts with graphic devs showing a great eye for absurdity. That said, the "movies" in the game should have been skippable because they were simply "cute" -- not funny, interesting, or disturbing - an odd part of the game which in a different universe from the rest of the game's atmosphere. The game has solid replay value and is one of the only Wii games I find myself picking up every now and then to play after having effectively finished it. Expand
