my second favourite game. A magnificent improvement and huge innovation in the games industry. It's a wide range of dudes to play as my favourite being Drobot and Ninjini. The oracle level is brilliant and the final one is awesome. Buy this!

Great gameplay and protagonists, but the villain is so comic relief-y! Why does there have to be such a stupid and generic antagonist as him! For the love of God, lose Kaos and you have a great game on your hands!

I like the game because of it's great humor most of the humor comes from Flynn but it's just so nice to have an character like Flynn only problem are the legendary treasures I only saw 2 of them during my play through and got 1 of them I had to watch a guide to find them but the story is very ok but the chapters are way to long and it's way to hard to find everything in 10 mis I only got 1 star in every single chapter of the game. The music is GREAT I like what they did with the music on flynn's ship.(that every song there is a remix from the main part of the ship) overall it was very nice to play but sadly very short. Please give us a second skylanders game like this. Expand

I replayed this game and I remember everything. The story is good, the multiplayer battle mode is the cherry on top, and my favorite game in the series. Everyone that is a fan of skylanders should 1000% try this. You will not regret.

Different toys and characters but otherwise more of the same. Fun, but very easy and somewhat disappointing. There are less levels and very easy puzzles, compared to the first Skylanders game, so much so that my 7yo (not a big gamer at all) completed it with his cousins over 3 days and asked 'was that it?'. Well I bought this game thinking that it could be fun. While the game is somewhat decent, it really bothers me that Activision keeps pushing people to buy a whole bunch of plastic junk. It's essentially "physical dlc" and ends up costing you even more. So to get the full package, you have to spend hundreds of dollars on this single game. That is just despicable.

Skylanders Giants is one of the games I've looked back on for years and still have many, many fond memories of playing it with my friend. It's story is great, the characters are extremely memorable, and playing through it is just plain old fun. It's one of those games you won't put down for hours.

Les Giants sont beaux mais parfois pas aussi fort qu'on pourrait l'imaginer. Comparé au premier Skylanders celui ci est beaucoup trop facile, y compris le boss final qu'on bat du premier coup.

Fun and addictive, but I find myself not willing to re do levels. The only thing I can do over and over is the pvp battle mode, which adds a fun competitive air to the game. The levels should be more realistic with less stupid humor. Another thing i noticed was that the quality of the figurines PLUMMETED in Skylanders Giants. Another thing i noticed was that the quality of the figurines PLUMMETED in Skylanders Giants. In Spyro's Adventure, the figurines are fairly well made and painted. All I can sat for Giants is landfill fodder. Levels got way too easy in this game. In Spyro's Adventure, defeating Kaos was a huge challenge. Even me and my brother working to gather could not defeat him, we must have tried some twenty times, until my brother died, and i finally "killed" Kaos by myself. In Giants, defeating Kaos takes twenty minutes tops in one try; if you were trying to play during a HURRICANE!! I would say five to ten minutes.

Now on to some things I do like about it. The extra five levels on each character are a great addition, because leveling up is something a lot of people like to do. In my case, only for the pvp battle's sake, but whatever. The new characters are okay.

Over all, it is a slightly entertaining, if not decent game. I would only recommend it for those who like pvp, or puzzles so easy you could do them in your sleep.

Not counting the pay to play elements of the game it’s a very fun 3D platformer with a passable plot. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to play it, but if you do I’m sure you’ll find some enjoyment Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Skylanders Giants is a much better game than Spyro's Adventure, but it's hard to call it the ideal Skylanders experience considering that it is still a very flawed game. It's polished sequel, but not a breaking one. Little kids will still have a grand time bashing trolls and collecting secret jewels. But much like Spyro's Adventure, it doesn't carry much staying power.

Pokemon games are constantly replayed because they have interesting settings and lore to revisit to go with the satisfying gameplay. While Giants likes to focus on telling childish jokes and use elements that are solely meant to entertain a younger audience. Even more so thanks to the new difficulty settings. Making this game much more easier than Spyro's Adventure. And I actually think that's for the best.

Beat 'em up games designed for children are at their strongest when they feel flexible to play. Knocking out waves of enemies with a buddy has always brought me a satisfying feeling. And that satisfaction gained from causing total destruction on the battlefield, being further enhanced with the Giants, it's a great title to just pick up and play.

This game is just so much more comfortable to play than its predecessor. The bosses aren't tedious, the hub area is just right, and even the extra content is more satisfying. This is all well and good, but it still feels like the series is holding back. For instance, I find the lore surrounding Kaos' family interesting, but it's never fully fleshed out. Their's plenty of clues to follow, but there isn't enough evidence to solve the mystery of why his family left.

This is why I can never take Kaos seriously, the developers still don't give him an interesting enough back story to make players respect him as a villain. If you ask me, the "The Iron Fist of Arkus", is the true villain of this game. I'm glad they get more spotlight here, seeing how they were the most interesting enemy race in the last adventure.

I think all future Skylanders games should do this, I'm sick to death seeing Kaos being the final boss of almost every single game in the series. Show some love to the zombies, the trolls, or the lost Kaos family. If this series ever makes a comeback, it needs to learn how to appeal to both old and new fans of the series in a breathtaking manner.

This game will always hold a special place in my heart, this game has a mediocre plot, but if you don't care about story like I do this is one of the best third party wii games you will ever play, the characters in this game are very memorable and NPC's like Flynn are some real fun once you hear him talk. Overall very nostalgic and very fun to constantly replay.

This was the first game I played in the series so it’s the one with the most magic for me. I love all the characters available and at the time the toys to life mechanic was fresh. The Giants are just bigger skylanders but they are fine for what they are. It’s a really fun game and the graphics hold up well.

I've played the whole saga. I like the idea behind the game. The gameplay is fun but the best part is the character design of the various characters.

  1. The gotta buy 'em all mentality is as ferociously addictive as ever, but the delightful characters deserve a more imaginative, better made game. [Christmas 2012, p.108]

Ultimately, Skylanders: Giants isn't going to convert many gamers my age as I think we might be a little too cynical for a game that's so blatant in its "pay-to-play" model.

Skylanders Giants is, at its core, a child-friendly dungeon crawler with simplistic smash-everything gameplay, but what elevates it is its understanding of its market. There's plenty of variety to keep kids entertained and loads of things to collect, all wrapped in an appealing package – and the toy aspect is still a stroke of genius, an undeniably cool idea that speaks directly to kids and big kids alike. If you or a younger member of your family is a fan of the series, this could be another expensive Christmas.
