    This might become the most underrated Wii game. So i'm writing this to say, GET IT!!! It has excellent gameplay, multiple ways and strategies to defeat enemies and bosses. Great creepy story. One of the best soundtracks i've ever experienced. Very rich level design. 5 Different endings. Interesting inventory management and item creation. 13 different Zelda-like bosses, but harder.     If you are a fan of Majoras mask, Castlvania, God of War,Shadow of the Colosuss and JRPGs, your love this game. This a fresh experience that hasn't been replicated for a long time. Its game that invokes a feeling that when you put the controller down and walk away, your compelled to pick it right back up.

    The story is very basic yet well constructed. Without spoiling too much, its    If you are a fan of Majoras mask, Castlvania, God of War,Shadow of the Colosuss and JRPGs, your love this game. This a fresh experience that hasn't been replicated for a long time. Its game that invokes a feeling that when you put the controller down and walk away, your compelled to pick it right back up.

    The story is very basic yet well constructed. Without spoiling too much, its about a girl with a curse and a boy who needs to save her by eating flesh of monsters from a tower suspended over a large chasm. The towers hold a larger boss monster at the top called Masters. Each mash holds flesh, and you must feed the girl flesh of Masters to lift her curses. You also have to develop a bond with the girl in order to progress a happy ending.

    The battle mechanic is very robust and rudimentary. its akin to a hack-and-slash game of God of War, darksiders or castlvania. But what i loved most about the battle mechanic is the chain. the Oraclos chain is the center focus in the game. This chain is a secondary side weapons that feels like a primary weapons. Primary weapons are swords, blades, scythes and a Explosion stake. But the way you have to integrate the chain with the environment really brings the depth of the chain into play. you grab, swing, whip, bind, and stab enemies with the chain and work with your primary weopon to rip them apart.

    Each tower acts like a dungeon in Zelda. There are puzzles you have to solve, and equipment you can get. to progress further. But since the girl is curse and the curse gets worse if your not there with her, you cannot stay in the dtowers for long. YES THIS GAME IS TIMED. Its like Majoras Mask, and that you cant take your merry time with the dunsgeon and if you do you'll lose small items. Every time u enter a tower, do one thing first...look for flesh from servents. Servent flesh is like master flesh but only serves to reset the timer. the more "fresher the flesh" the more potent. If ur in a tower and the timer is getting lower, you need to find your way to the exit and feed her the flesh and go back to the tower. it seems annoying but brings a dynamic of urgency. And th thrill gets stronger when you finnaly get to the boss, but ur timer is almost up, but you know it takes longer to trek back to the exitso u fight the boss and nearly beat the clock. I love that feeling.

    Now lets talk about the girl. She's a gold digger...no really she is. You need to shower her in gifts in order to increase your bond with her. She loves undoubtedly and and says the most awkwardly pout lines. its cringe worthy at some times, but can get really heart felt most of the time. She could cook for you, make your inventory bag larger, and make medicne. She also decifers unreadable notes to uncover the lore in the game, a nice touch.

    This game is everything i love about the Wii, i enjoyed it from beginning until end. Aaron & Elena's characters and there relationship was very heart felt and touching; it makes you want to save from her fate. I thought the story was very well written and understandable; the music and level design where akin to the 3D Zelda title (that's a good thing in my book) .... and finally theThis game is everything i love about the Wii, i enjoyed it from beginning until end. The combat may suffer from annoying camera angles and a lack of characters which makes the characters repetitive in some sense. The story makes the game feel like a side-story in some way. Even after the boss battle I keep on forgetting "this is not a Zelda title, so stop looking around for the heart container and portal out of this dungeon/tower."… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I would say that this game is a pretty underrated game, even for a short, casual game. I have heard complaints of it being a JRPG with dating sim and that it's boring, but personally I found the game enjoyable. I would not say that this game is anything along the levels of popular titles like zelda, but it's not bad. The towers in the game are beautifully designed with themes in mind, your actions toward the girl you're trying to save has consequences and the combat, although not perfect, is not what I would consider to be overly hard to easy to use.

    This game is not one that has a lot of freedom, your aim is just to go to the towers, kill the monsters and stop the girl from turning into a monster. There's no grand elaborate storyline for you to follow, although there are bits of background information that you can find through notes and conversation. Furthermore, aside from the different endings, there's not much point in playing through the game more than once, there's a New Game option, but this does little other than unlock treasure rooms to make the game easier.

    The game creates a beautiful world, a helpless girl and towers with monsters, that's all the game offers and with just that they have already created a world that I enjoyed spending my time in. If short cutscenes and dialogues about nothing more than the character and relationship development between characters and heart eating, beautifully designed environment and light hearted enjoyment is what you're looking for, then you'd probably enjoy this game. If you want deep story and complex gameplay, I suggest you look elsewhere.    … Expand

I had previously purchased the game for some $65, and it was the collector's edition with the steel-book and the art book, along with the cool box it came in. I beat the game 100% shortly before Xseed announced they were porting the game. I didn't know it would be coming to American shores. Well, now that it's here, I might as well review the game.

    Pandora's tower is an action RPG game in the vein of Zelda, Castlevania, and games of that like. It involves the growing relationship of the two main characters, Aeron and Elena, as Aeron fights for "beast flesh" that will keep Elena in her human form. The game largely focuses on Elena and Aeron's relationships, especially in the fact that you get different endings based on how close you are to Elena. The graphics of the game are a bit dated, but none the less look good on the wii. They remind me of twilight princess, except a bit sharper, but with lower frame rate. The level design of the game is very good, and the dungeons can be very enjoyable when you factor in the different collectables and monsters you get to fight. However, you'll meet some repetition when you go over the second wave of dungeons, from the over all aesthetics, to the monsters you encounter. Speaking of monsters, the combat in the game is reminiscent of Zelda, kingdom hearts, and other similar button mashers. You've a choice of some 4 weapons, if my memory serves me right, and they all offer unique advantages on combat, so you'll be swapping out weapons for certain situations. The player is given a magical chain that can be used for typical swinging and pulling puzzles, and also for ripping items/flesh out of monsters (can be pretty fun too ^_^). At the end of each dungeon is a tower master that you need to defeat in order to acquire it's flesh and further destroy Elena's curse. The boss battles are all unique, beautiful, and overall well designed. The music isn't extremely memorable, but it's done very well and the fits the atmosphere of the game. I urge you, if you're a wii owner and need some hardcore games to add to your collection, you'll be doing yourself a disservice by not owning this late-era wii game.    … Expand

    As the Wii approaches its end, original role playing games seem to be landing left and right. Xenoblade has its grand vistas, The Last Story has its amazingly natural dialogue, and Pandora's Tower well it has Elena. The aim of the game being to prevent a curse from turning her into a monster. To stop the curse you take control of the semi-silent protagonist Aeron; for the most part he's aAs the Wii approaches its end, original role playing games seem to be landing left and right. Xenoblade has its grand vistas, The Last Story has its amazingly natural dialogue, and Pandora's Tower well it has Elena. The aim of the game being to prevent a curse from turning her into a monster. To stop the curse you take control of the semi-silent protagonist Aeron; for the most part he's a bit like Link from the Zelda series or the vault dweller from fallout 3 but in scenes with drama he does talk. It's a nice halfway house that sets out to give you the immersion of playing the part of the character while at the same time allowing for dramatic scenes to feel fluid and not like a series of button prompts. Armed with the mystical oraclos chain, given to you by a creepy old woman named Mavda you are instructed to collect the flesh of beasts from the towers for Elena to chow down on. You soon find out that said beast flesh is only a temporary solution; it only delays the effects of the curse for 30 or 40 minutes. The only way to truly break the curse and save the day is to obtain flesh from the masters lying in wait at the top of each of the thirteen towers.

    The aforementioned towers are guarded by enemies and puzzles, in order to reach the final room of each tower the plucky hero must first unseal the rooms containing the dangerous creatures known as the masters. This is achieved by destroying a handful of pedestals which ground the chains barring entrance to the final room of a tower. As you begin scaling the towers you will notice two things, the first is that each tower corresponds to an element a bit like The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time's fire temple, water temple, forest temple etc. This is great for the first five towers as it keeps things fresh both in terms of art direction and game mechanics, the second half of the game isn't quite so interesting due to tower 6 to 10 repeating the themes of 1 to 5. Nobody really wants to go through two water temples. The second thing you will notice about the towers is that you are not going to manage to get through them in 30-40 minutes, most will require at least two trips back to the observatory. This could have easily made the whole experience a lot more tedious, to the developers credit though they have done an amazing job making backtracking bearable. Each tower has shortcuts you can open up in the form of unlocking barricaded doors and dropping down ladders, which make traversing to the top of each tower a quick and painless task. Also included is an item that instantaneously transports you back to the observatory, these are particularly useful in getting the most out of your time in the towers.

    The unique concept of having to come back at regular intervals to prevent the damsel in distress from mutating horrifically is quite gripping. On the one hand you want to fully explore the Towers and discover the mysteries behind them but on the other you don't want to watch Elena Gag as she eats raw oozing purple monster flesh. There aren't too many games that make you feel guilty for wanting to explore every nook and cranny. One of the thing the game does really well is make you want to protect Elena and get back before the curse takes hold. There's a kind of morbid curiosity at the start of the game where you want to see what happens when you leave it to the last minute to get back to Elena. Once you've watched that scene once, you will never want to see it again, probably the darkest thing you will ever see in a Nintendo published game.

    When you eventually reach one of the towers masters you will immediately be reminded of the colossi from Team Ico's epic shadow of the colossus, in the sense that each of the boss battles feels like a puzzle rather than a challenge of your reflexes or combat proficiency. It feels a lot more brain over brawn. The idea behind these master battles is to hook onto the glowing weak point with the oraclos chain and perform some abrupt, unwanted keyhole surgery. The difficulty comes from trying to figure out how to reveal the masters weak point and get off a fully charged yank. Generally if you impale something with a metal spike, they are not likely to sit there and wait for you to remove their aorta. So before going for their Achilles heel you will need to stun them, figuring out how to stun them is the important bit. It's a really interesting dynamic combined with the constantly draining hourglass, the pressure doesn't come from beating the boss but beating the boss in a timely fashion so as not to see Elena horribly deformed.

    These days every JRPG seems to feature a group of seven unlikely heroes saving the world from a generic bad guy on a power trip, it's refreshing to see a developer put some thought and originality into a game's story. It's not perfect by any means but it is memorable, and I'd take one flawed game with with spirit over 50 games that are more of the same but a little better.    … Expand

It borrows the best aspects of many different games and mix them together in a refreshing and deep experience while adding its own "personality" to the recipe.     This game has the feel of some great games, Castlevania, ICO and Zelda with the RPGness of Final Fantasy.

    Great Game with good gameplay, definitely worth a look for fans of those series or anyone with a Wii that wants a new game.

As a Wii title, it stands out as impressive use of almost every function of the controllers without going into useless, annoying "waggle to win" systems. In a lot of ways the mood, art, and gameplay reminds me a lot of Vagrant Story meets Metroid with an Original X concept in there. Game looks beautiful. It's a little cut-scene heavy for my tastes, but they still manage to hold your interest and sorta flesh out this story that is just bananas ambiguity in the first 10 minutes. It's an enjoyable game, with a high concept design scope. I look forward to a pandora's tower 2 or 3 which can maybe streamline some of the world camera work, the control scheme, and a little less watch the story and rather we can PLAY the story. This game really pushes the Wii on every level from gameplay concept, to art design, efficiency and breadth of controller input making ACTUAL use of the nunchuk-wiimote potential in a sensible manner, graphical prowess of the Wii, story-telling. This is one of the few games that ALMOST fully realized the potential of the Wii with minor stumbles. If you own a Wii, you need to play this game.… Expand

    This game is great!If you like the older zelda games like Ocarina of Time, then this is a must buy!It has a great storyline and the gameplay feels really good.This game gives us what Zelda couldn't give us for a long time now.Thank you Ganbarian and Nintendo!!!

    An all around great game that falls from being a 10 only because the graphics aspire to be better than they are which causes some areas to look bad or difficult to interpret. Some of the first rooms in the game look terrible which was off putting, though that is a minor complaint for such an involved and enjoyable title.

Finally I thought, one of the few games that wasn't a first person shooter.As I walked into the shop and bought the game my brain went all fuzzy as I brushed the lower part of my torso, I had a warm feeling inside me as I inserted the game into my console and started the game.My brother then proceeded to shout "Alien Paedophiles" as he watched Cowboys and Aliens. IAaah, Pandoras Tower. Finally I thought, one of the few games that wasn't a first person shooter.As I walked into the shop and bought the game my brain went all fuzzy as I brushed the lower part of my torso, I had a warm feeling inside me as I inserted the game into my console and started the game.My brother then proceeded to shout "Alien Paedophiles" as he watched Cowboys and Aliens. I told him to shut up and started my intense journey through Pandoras tower. When I finished the game I went and watched Cowboys and Aliens. I then watched some porn and felt that this was a slightly more satisfying experience than Pandoras Tower. The game just doesn't have enough to make me feel like I truly invested my valuable time in to. If only they had spent a little more time on this. But if you like JRPGS then you may want to pick up this game amid a market of similar games… Expand

    Pandora's Tower was sadly forgotten about because of the hype surrounding Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story. Now, that's not to say those aren't fantastic games, too, as The Last Story is my favorite of the 3 swansong JRPGs for the Wii, but Pandora's Tower deserved more attention, much more attention, in addition to a North American localization. Quite frankly, this is an exceptionalPandora's Tower was sadly forgotten about because of the hype surrounding Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story. Now, that's not to say those aren't fantastic games, too, as The Last Story is my favorite of the 3 swansong JRPGs for the Wii, but Pandora's Tower deserved more attention, much more attention, in addition to a North American localization. Quite frankly, this is an exceptional game, featuring an emotional story, fun combat and platforming with the chain, a great time mechanic, etc. This game's truly a landmark JRPG for the Wii.… Expand

    I was quite disappointed in the game, I mean, the tralier was pretty cool, but all the game really is that of a crappy version of Zelda with some rpg elements, its not that bad, but its not great.

    Pandora tower looked like a ps3 game in my 1st sight.... After game play , i found that most of the things really good , but the boss fight really too easy , easy dungeon , weak monster , low level puzzle , but overall it is still a good game for you 0 0

    awesome premise and game. somewhat lacking in leveling up and the game felt a bit rushed in some levels. also, need a fixed us port. this is the reason to encourage region free multilanguage editions for all games. sometimes, gems like this could be missed. viva rainfall!!!

    Story is great though, although very depressing. Lastly, some people might not like the difficulty curve that comes with it.     the game story go's like this, a young 18 year old girl named Elena gets cursed with a master guardian of the 12 laws named Zeron she was separated for her family and used as a war machine for the Elyrian army so Aeron the main character also the one you play as take's Elena to a tower near the mist of 13 other towers. each tower contains a boss linked to the 12 laws of Elyrian. the 12 law were establish by the Elyrian army for better order across the lands but the experiment went wrong and the 13 master got out of hand. It's now up to Aeron to bring back the flesh of 13 masters Elena will have to eat the flesh in order to stay human and not fall under zeron's curse and become a master. There's a lot of detail and deepness in the story it's emotional and every time you defeat a master you will get a dream sequence leading to the events of the making of the 13 towers.

    The bond 10/10

    When you're not out hunting for master flesh your at the observatory tower either buying items off of Mavda a old merchant who carries an old man on her back. Mavda will sell use healing items combining items stats boosting items and gift items to give to Elena more items like that are available in new game + which i will get to later. anyway either buying staff from Mavda or talking to Elena. every time to talk to Elena bring back master flesh or give her a gift item the bond metre to the left of the screen will grow you can even get a better ending depending on how high the metre is at the final boss and I'll get to the ending's later but it's not just the multiple ending's to want out of talking to her it's how realistic and varied the interaction's and dialogue between Aeron and Elena are. Elena no generic princess stereotype and just to let you know she's not even a princess. The idea of wanting to help as much as possible by curing this curse is a compelling narrative and the partial love story help's pull you through the anxiety.

    The universe 10/10

    The universe is an enchanting paradise of deep chasm's under 13 magically sculpted towers. there a lot to know about the mythos and how each master was once part of the 12 laws of Athos.

    The environments 10/10

    The environments as expected are gorgeous fantasy realms.

    The ending 12/10

    They are 5 different ending if you don't include Elena's full transformations ending S A B C D are ranked in order from happiness to sadist. The happier the ending the more you learn about Zero's curse. i like all the ending but ending S is my favourite it's emotional and satisfying possibly the best ending in a video game ever. On my first play-through which took me about 30 hours i got ending b which was still very good but when you go into new game + your bond metre stays the same so i replayed using chapter select the last half of the game into i got ending S.

    The bosses 7.5/10

    the bosses all fell unique with they own different attack patters. they look great but sadly some of the bosses repeat earlier bosses skin and size types.

    The characters 7/10

    The characters are Aeron Elena Mavda the leader of the Elyrian army and Zeron. Elena a true gem of them all and the rest are alright.

    game-play 7/10

    You have a chain that you use to grab pull and decapitate enemies you have to point the Wii remote and hover it over the object you went to chain you also have other weapons as main attacks i wound like a bit more variation in the weapons besides damage and speed. The real problem with the game-play is that with mainstream enemies you can use the same technique on them over and over angina chain they're body up so they can't move and than attack them and repeat this for most enemies also there's a lack of enemy variety.

    Level design 5/10

    In each tower there's a boss a few chains to beak and groups. May sound good at first but after the fifth tower the same 5 tower repeat. It's fells like something that should be in new game + but sadly it's tedious compulsory to pad out the game. You also have a time limit to adds fun challenge.    … Expand

    La historia está bien aunque un tanto explotada haciéndonos ver otra vez lo que somos capaces de hacer los humanos por amor.
    La jugabilidad está bien pero a veces la cámara se pone en el peor angulo posible para que podamos ver cuándo para el golpe.

    I have really enjoyed this game so far. I haven't completed it yet but I'm up to tower 10 so have a good feel for the game. The graphics are great (for a Wii), the story cut-scenes are not too long and really add to the atmosphere of the game. Having multiple possible endings dependent on the bond between your character and Elena is a great idea. The game moves along nicely and having eachI have really enjoyed this game so far. I haven't completed it yet but I'm up to tower 10 so have a good feel for the game. The game moves along nicely and having each level time dependant is great for someone like me (limited available time for gaming). The game can be a little repetitive but still highly enjoyable. The dramatic music when you battle each boss is great and really adds to the overall tension/ enjoyment. I really like this game. My kids are playing it also so it's been a big hit. Superb game. 8/10… Expand

    Absolutely loved the game. Granted, I was fairly uncertain about it on my initial playthrough, but it didn't take long for the game to win me over. And this is honestly saying some as I'm someone who's not really a fan of going through dungeons in Zelda games, and the majority of this game is spent going around the towers. But on top of the enjoyable gameplay and towers being wellAbsolutely loved the game. Granted, I was fairly uncertain about it on my initial playthrough, but it didn't take long for the game to win me over. And this is honestly saying some as I'm someone who's not really a fan of going through dungeons in Zelda games, and the majority of this game is spent going around the towers. But on top of the enjoyable gameplay and towers being well designed, the way the story is presented and Elena herself just cemented this as being among my favorite Wii games. Though w/ that being said, this game isn't for everyone. I can certainly see how this game may not connect w/ certain people as much as it connected w/ me. Though despite that, this game is definitely worth a look. The fact that I'm writing this review in 2017 shows just how much Pandora's Tower resonated w/ me.… Expand

    Es excelente, pero el bug que impide avanzar arruina el ritmo del juego y eso suponiendo que puedas evitar que se siga trabando. Además ocurre justo cuando la historia comienza a desvelarse y ponerse más interesante.

    one of the most impressive game experiences I've ever had before. this game is quite amazing if you give it a chance. Unfortunately there are a few problems the game has a terrible glitch that almost butchers the end of the game but in all honesty I thought it made the game more of a challenged and by the time I was at the end of the game I was so immersed that the glitch only added to theone of the most impressive game experiences I've ever had before. this game is quite amazing if you give it a chance.     No other game is like this one and everything from the story to the game mechanics works really well.
    Writing this in 2023 while playing the game once more after many years. Still rocks today.

    This game should get a modern port. Just like Xenoblade Chronicles got another chance, Pandora's Tower deserves the same.

    Pandora's Tower is an enjoyable RPG, and if the Affinity thing wasn't involved, I'd easily put this up to the ranks of four stars and beyond. There's a lot of exploring to do, puzzles to solve, and great action that requires serious thinking. The gameplay as well as the presentation are top-shelf. If you can put up with Elena, in either form, you'll find this to be a great action adventure title.
