Niki is what WiiWare was created for: small developers to create new, innovative games at an affordable price. Whilst Niki takes some elements from older platform games, it's still a great new experience. With a little practice, you'll soon find yourself rolling, bouncing and thrashing your way through each stage to earn the best times on each level. 1. Bplus has succeeded in creating a very fun little action-platformer with Niki – Rock ā€˜n’ Ball. The simplicity of the game and its fun gameplay structure makes it perfect for a quick play now and again, despite the unforgiving learning curve after the first few worlds.

The price of Niki: Rock and Ball is small, but so is the game's fun factor and challenge. I appreciate the attempt to recreate the feel and simple quick-shot action of classics like Bubble Bobble, but what the team created on the Wii just doesn't stack up to its inspiration.
  3. Niki is undeniably a ball, but this platformer does not rock.
