    People usually hate this game, but I think it's really underrated. It could be nostalgia, but I think the minigames and music are awesome! Sure playing on the boards is boring, but free play is alone is better than Poppy Playtime alone

    The party boards of the game are really not that good, but the rest of the game is amazing. The minigames are really fun, the controls simple and the multiplayer well-made.

    It's a great game. It's slandered so much but it's amazing. The car changes things up a little but it still has somewhat of a strategy element to the game with the different dice blocks.

    No matter what you think about this game, I still enjoy this game a bunch. Now, the characters move better, the frame rate is better, and the mini games are even better! Mario Party 9 deserves to be played!

    The best game to play with family or friends, the gameplay is very cool. If you are looking for a game to play with family, for parties or just to play with friends, then I advise you this game, you will not regret it.

    Mario Party 9 - 8/10 {recommend}

    It's a great game to play with family and friends, it's pretty chaotic in general, but it's good, it's not
    bad as others say. The issue of everyone in the same car is different and brings a differentiate
    for the game, but I don't consider it a disadvantage. Overall, it is worth it.

    This game is fun. Even thought it took much from the original mario party formula it still manages to still be something that many people can enjoy.

    Am i the only one who thinks the car mechanic is nice?

    I like this game, and its good for providing hours of entertainment. Massive collection of minigames, and there are extra characters you can choose from as well. The luck factor makes turns intense, as you could win or lose mini stars.

    I'm in the minority when I say this, but Mario Party 9 is my favorite in the series. The gameplay is a large shift, but I still find enjoyment in it, the production values are great and the minigames are some of the best I've played. Your enjoyment of Mario Party 9 will vary depending on how much of the older games you've played.     Not nearly as bad as they say, new formula isn't perfect but it's a good alternative. Mini-games are very good as well. Better than Mario Party 8, that's for sure.

    I don't personally understand the hate for this game. It's a perfectly fine game, and I'd consider it better than Mario Party 8. That game was pretty lame, but this is honestly really fun when you have multiple people, and I just don't understand why people don't like it.

    This is the first Mario Party game that was not developed by Hudson and the first game that was completely different from its predecessors. NDCube (the developer of this game) did a really good job at changing the classic Mario Party formula. In this game, all players are moving together in a vehicle to reach the end of the board instead of each player moving individually. Some people hated this change, some people (like myself) liked it, even though I still prefer the original one. However, I have to admit that the game relies a bit too much on luck, which is the only downside in my opinion. Furthermore, the game has 7 boards and each of them has a small gimmick and theme. The soundtrack of this game is really good, with a lot of catchy themes that I enjoyed listening to. The minigame selection is also fairly decent. They are fun, creative and worth playing. As for the presentation of this game, it's amazing. Mario Party 9 simply looks beautiful and it really shows what the Wii is capable of doing. The artstyle is colorful and the models are very detailed. Overall, Mario Party 9 is an example of making a good change to a franchise. Even though most people understandably prefer the original Mario Party formula, I appreciate a lot the fact that Nintendo tried something different.… Expand

    This was the game that made me love Mario and made my interested in Mario, it made my childhood! And when I am unbiased, this game changed Mario Party, it did something new, which is great!

    The minigames are phenomenal. The boards are creative. The story mode is decent and the gimmick...is...mediocre...well not everything can be perfect but why the change?

    eu nunca joguei o jogo mas pelo o que vi e pesquisei ele trás uma originalidade que eu nunca vi, esse mario party trás uma jogabilidade totalmente diferente entre os jogos anteriores da série.

    Mario Party 9 was great making a excelent use of motion controls to all new kind of games, the boards get a bit lame if you already played then before, but completing the ''story'' mode and going by all of then is very fun, and made me laugh a lot with my friends ... if you got friend to come by, and play wii, be sure to have a copy of Mario Party 9 by your side ...

    Mario Party has been going on for a long time. This game really stands out the most. The new vehicle mechanic is amazing. Great music, awesome graphics, and more than 80 new minigames

    This game is a lot better than people make it out to be. Though it may not be too similar to other Mario Party games, I thoroughly enjoyed this entry in the series, as the new mini games are fun and relaxing, while mostly still maintaining somewhat of a competitive feel. If you don't have anybody to play this with though, I suggest you save your money on something else.

    Graphics arent evewything,but this game gets a 9 for fun minigames,and great boss fights.The tables are,FANTASTIC! this is one of the best party games you will play.

    This game have better graphics and controls than Mario Party 8 but the vehicle ruined it for some but I personally enjoyed the minigames more in this game than Mario Party 10 because Mario party 10 had way too many easy minigames. I wished this game have more skill instead of luck but it is what it is.

    This is a great game. One of my favourite Mario Parties with 7 and 8. The graphics are just amazing. The gameplay is great. The minigames and bosses are awesome. The character selection is okay except that they took out so many. The boards are very good. Mario Party 9 is great and is worth getting. It's also SO underrated.

    This game is fun, and SO underrated! I like the story of Bowser stealing all the Ministars and Mario&his bro and friends set off on an adventure to stop Bowser. The music is great. The graphics are awesome; pure HD 1080. If you have a bro or a sis, this game is a great way to play with siblings instead of fighting all day. My bro fufufu and I enjoy it a lot.     In my opinion, Mario Party 9 is pretty underrated. It's not perfect, but it's not terrible either. Mario Party 9 proves to be a fun experience while it lasts.

    The boards are cleverly designed with the first board (Toad Road) and the fifth board (Magma Mine) being my personal favorites. Boo's Horror Castle is an incredibly unnecessary difficulty spike, therefore being my least favorite    In my opinion, Mario Party 9 is pretty underrated.     The boards are cleverly designed with the first board (Toad Road) and the fifth board (Magma Mine) being my personal favorites. Boo's Horror Castle is an incredibly unnecessary difficulty spike, therefore being my least favorite board of the bunch. There are two bosses in each stage with each one being pretty unique. While some of them (like the Whomp) are entirely luck-based, they still are engaging and they all feel like you played a part in them.

    The game's much more fun in multiplayer (then you usually have someone to blame for all of the things that go wrong) and this adds some much needed replay value. This also makes the wide variety of minigames more fun. The minigames themselves are extremely unique even if some of them are slightly confusing. I've played through all the minigames alone more than once!

    The museum in the game is great if you want to unlock the secret board, listen to the game's decent music selection, or unlock constellations and new vehicles. I myself have personally never completed the constellations myself. I didn't really find them interesting. In Minigame Mode, you can play through all the minigames as previously mentioned but there's some other games to choose from. Step It Up is my personal favorite of the bunch. Everytime you win a minigame you go up a few stairs. Whoever gets to the top first wins. Most of the other ones I didn't care for with the exception of Boss Rush.

    Overall, Mario Party 9 is a great family-friendly party game that has great replay value. The main fun will be found in the multiplayer and the minigames.    … Expand

    Mario Party 9 is a welcome entry to the series. It's not as great as the original Mario Party, but that doesn't mean it sucks or terrible. It has great and innovative new gameplay, great music, nice graphics, and addicting minigames that all adds up into this one good looking game. Don't listen to the haters and buy this game!

    People call this "the worst Mario Party game" and I see where they're coming from, it's a strange Mario Party game, and DRIVES the series in a weird direction. However, playing this, I had the most fun I'd had all series.

    I waited for this game a long time and it was worth, in my opinion this game is the best of all Mario Party games released so far It brought a way to play Mario Party very different to the one I was used to.     For those looking for the complete reinvention of the wheel will have to wait a bit longer. But Mario Party 9 has had enough tweaked in it to breathe some much-needed life back into the series.
