    This game is an absolute masterpiece. Brilliant! A true homage to the SNES classics, but even better. Definitely a must buy for the Wii.
    If you're looking for fun and something worth your time and money, look no further.

    It's **** Kirby, what do you expect? Tanks and helicopters flying through the air? It's brilliant, and bringing it back to the original ways. I just love it.

    Masterful! The soundtrack, the gameplay, the everything! I have a huge amount of nostalgia for this game, and it has not aged since. That’s how good it is!

    Definitely more challenging than epic yarn and more fun.Graphics are colorful and beautiful and there are quite many stages and stuff to collect.Also the second, harder quest is much appreciated.This game deserves to be in any wii owner's library

    It's the first Kirby game that I actually finish and I'd play it again and again.
    Played the entire thing in co-op and I'm not sure if it'd hold up this well on single player mode, but that doesn't take away the fact that Return to Dreamland is extremely charming, entertaining, accessible, well paced and dynamic.     It can get repetitive, boss fights are a little rough, minigames are dull and playing as Kirby feels unique, but not quite as consistent as playing as Meta Knight or King Dedede.

    Anyway, Return to Dreamland is a quick and amiable game that's easy to play and get lost in it. Go have fun with it.    … Expand

    I love Kirby! Heck it's even in my name! This game was the first wii game I ever played. Its great and I recommend getting the switch version as its waaaaaaaayy cheaper!

    The best modern Kirby game, though Planet Robobot comes close. It revived the series in a beautiful fashion and adds so many mainstays for the series that are still used, such as new gimmicks for each game (Kirby's Stomach in Squeak Squad and Merging Copy Abilities in Crystal Shards were also gimmicks for those titles, but the titles proceeding them didn’t have them.     great game good platforming and if you are bad at games you can skip like the entire level and also great co op and you are not nodded to use motion controls only for the star block

    Its a fun, simple platforming game just like in the 90s. If you didn't like Kirby games back then, you probably wont like this one as well. It isn't a game that is suppose to frustrate you or test your skills as a gamer, it is a game that is just pure fun to play, especially if you can get a couple of friends to come over and play multiplayer

The level design, the enemies[new and old], the powers, the mini games, the difficulty, everything takes me back to the good old Kirby Super Star. It's just that good.     Very good game. A perfect edition to the Kirby series and a great way to make up for Epic Yarn (It wasn't bad, just too different and you can't die). HAL did a great job converting the classic copy abilities to a new game and adding new moves to them. Paired with the new copy abilities and the super copy abilities, it really adds to the game's dynamics. To make this game absolutely perfectVery good game. A perfect edition to the Kirby series and a great way to make up for Epic Yarn (It wasn't bad, just too different and you can't die). HAL did a great job converting the classic copy abilities to a new game and adding new moves to them. Paired with the new copy abilities and the super copy abilities, it really adds to the game's dynamics. To make this game absolutely perfect HAL should have integrated the copy ability mix system like in Crystal Shards and added a bit more worlds. Yes the game is extremely easy, with most enemies dying in 1 hit, but Kirby has always been really easy. The music is great, the art is great, the graphics are very good for a Wii game. Also there's no Wii-mote gimmicks to hinder game play just simply holding the controller sideways, no nunchuck to get in the way which is perfect because the game doesn't need it. The edition of multiplayer and the ability for another player to jump in/out at any time is great. The ability to unlock extras by collecting energy spheres gives you more stuff to do whilst playing through the game. The challenges (which you unlock by collecting a certain amount of energy spheres) are fun and are challenging at first but after a few runs though them they become easy, but still fun. The mini-games are very fun playing with someone or by yourself. I love how they added the copy ability rooms (once again, unlocked via energy spheres) so there's no need to scour levels for a certain copy ability. The game itself is relatively short (~8 hours) even if you collect all the energy spheres. The challenges will add an hour or two of gameplay but not a massive amount.That being said, once you beat the game you can unlock a hard mode option which makes the game harder (obviously). There's no need to speed through the game though. Take your time and admire the work put into the landscapes and music. In short, RTD is a great addition to the Kirby series and should be taken light-heartedly.… Expand

Plus there's a 'Hard Mode' you unlock after beating the extremely difficult final boss.     Absolutely Amazing, the game is just a nice recreations of Kirby's best gameplay, with multiple habilities by power and fun bosses, co-op gameplay and that nice soundtrack! If you find this game, BUY it.

There's an extra mode you can unlock where you have less health and have to deal with many more enemies. The boss fights are also more challenging. The game manages to be incredibly engaging regardless. OVERALL this is a game for Kirby fans, by Kirby creators, with ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD.

    Kirby returns to his roots in this fantastic game that made me realize how much I missed traditional Kirby games. Sure games like Mass Attack and Epic Yarn are great and all, but when it comes to Kirby, there's nothing better than sucking.

    the best local 4 players game that i have played, a great kirby game similar to the old one but with its own unique charm, a cute and sweet game, that is fun from begining to end :)

    If you ask me, which you are if you are reading my review, I think this game, like Scott said, isn't really meant to be a "24-hour hard-core" challenger. It's more like a "spend a weekend with your friends and have a nice, relaxing gaming experience" kind of game.     Excellent game, much better than Epic Yarn. Gave me a huge buzz of nostalgia for Kirby 64, yet it also reminded me of Superstar Ultra- this game is classic Kirby through and through. Nintendo`s annual console platformers keep getting better and better, can`t wait to see what 2D game they have planned for next year.

    I strongly disagree with IGN's review of Kirby's Return to Dream Land. Sure, the game may be easy (fortunately, the difficulty ramps up during later levels) and the plot may be somewhat unoriginal, but that's not the point; the point is that you are playing a gorgeous, finely-polished Kirby game that has been in development since Kirby 64 was released.

    This game was great! I enjoyed playing it with my friend alot, and it doesn't seem repetitive to me.
    The only reason I wouldn't give it a 10 cause its not completely flawless.

When I first started playing I started to worry the entire game was going to be easy and monotonous as well as short, but after continuing to play I realized how great a game this was. The plot twists and imaginatively creepy, amazing, and challenge boss battle, and the extra hard post-game mode madeAwesome. Because if they think that then either they're a master at Kirby games or simply didn't play it all the way through.     Kirby is back in Dreamland and the game runs exactly like a Kirby game should run. The improvement over Crystal Shards on the N64 is not much unfortunately. At times it becomes repetitive and certain areas feel empty. The difficulty level could be raised at least another bar as well.

    Amazing, thats the one word that describes this game, if you are a hardcore Kirby fan and was kinda burned by Epic Yarn and Mass attack. I promise that won't happen here. With new abilites, many unlockables, and great sub-games, by the end of the game, this could be among you favorite titles in the series.

This is a game that rivals NSMBW as the best platformer on the console. It may not be incredibly difficult, but the gameplay is so varied, refined and distilled, and the effect is pure bliss. This was the best Wii game of 2011, period. II've only played up into Level 2 and I can already tell that this game is a masterpiece. Far better than the overhyped and overblown Skyward Sword. The graphics are very cheerful and bright (although sometimes they are a little too simplistic to the point of looking a little bland), as is the music and story.     Well it's Kirby! I like super abilities and fact that each ability has multiple new attacks. Sounds and music are great. Multiplayer is awesome idea, but even two player mode is soooo much easier it sometimes isn't funny (can't imagine four player mode). I was slightly disappointed by difficulty. I think Kirby games should be chalenging.

    A nice little platformer featuring the most adorable Nintendo character ever. It has great levels, great copy abilities and above all, an amazing little story. The sub-games are brilliant too. It's definitely a masterpiece, and a must buy for wii gamers. Probably the most addictive Kirby game ever!

    Without a principal Kirby game on Nintendo's main console for years, this game feels like Crystal Shards, but, adding the main portable games features, distributing the gameplay to be handy playing alone and/or with friends. A funny and awesome adventure to enjoy, mainly with friends.

    Tied for my favorite Kirby game, this release cemented Kirby as my all time favorite Nintendo series. The merging of the world format of Adventure with the level design and wide range of multi-move abilities from Super Star makes for a beautifully paced nostalgia-ridden masterpiece. One of my all-time favorite games.

    In kirby series this game is one of my favourites games. It can be in 2nd or 3rd place. Anyway Gameplay is just great. Nice boss fights, nice controls, nice story. Ideal game.

But don't get me wrong, this is overall a fun experience, and especially accessible to younger children.     This is "the" game, if you want to play with your loved one, and she's not very experienced in video games. This is my first Kirby game, and I already know what makes this series so popular. Cute, fun and simple, great for co-op. However, it may seem boring at times, since there's no real challenge throughout the game.     You know, after playing through "Kirby's Epic Yarn" and having an opinion on it that probably most would disagree with (I gave it a 6 out of 10 over here on Metacritic), I was a bit worried walking into "Kirby's Return to Dream Land." Not only was it a return to the core style of Kirby that had been sorely missed since "Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards," but the game had to overcome nearly aYou know, after playing through "Kirby's Epic Yarn" and having an opinion on it that probably most would disagree with (I gave it a 6 out of 10 over here on Metacritic), I was a bit worried walking into "Kirby's Return to Dream Land." Not only was it a return to the core style of Kirby that had been sorely missed since "Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards," but the game had to overcome nearly a decade of development troubles and several different builds. Not only that, but having also recently played "Kirby Star Allies" and finding myself really enjoying it, there was some worry that going back to an almost 7-year old game after playing and loving the most recent one in the franchise would reveal some aged elements. I had some small worries that the game would stumble and fall a little bit, but as it turned out, there's pretty much no poorly-aged elements to speak of and, in fact, this might actually be Kirby's finest adventure yet!
    "Kirby's Return to Dream Land" is gorgeous. Even on an underpowered system like the Wii that wasn't capable of HD visuals, the game is just brimming with life and stuffed with vibrant colors, and said visuals are absolutely mesmerizing. The game is also extremely fun (as I said, it's a return to the "Kirby 64" style that was so successful back in the Nintendo 64 days), it controls well, the copy abilities and combat are great, and things like the "Super Inhale" and "Super Abilities" add a neat layer to the gameplay. While storytelling has never been the strongest thing about the "Kirby" games, this one does have a cute and charming little story with a solid twist, and while length has also never been one of the series' strong suits, this game actually has a surprising amount of beef to it, even more so, in fact, than the latest entry in the series, "Kirby Star Allies."
    Admittedly, it's not a perfect 10 out of 10 game, I couldn't shake that the game didn't really provide much of a challenge outside of the final boss fight (which, in and of itself, doesn't really take too long), and while it's not as easy as "Kirby's Epic Yarn" (at least you can die this time), I did hope the game would provide just a little more difficulty.
    Even so, "Kirby's Return to Dream Land" is one of the pink puffball's best adventures, and it's a satisfying game that any Wii owner should play!

    The story is epic, it has an extra mode for hardcore people, has good uses of the wii-mote (shaking is used frequently) and a lot of challenges in magolor's airship for tons of fun.

    I am a HUGE fan of Kirby (I sleep with a Kirby plush and own all the Kirby games), but this game fell short! Getting this game was like Christmas morning, but after a while I got bored of it, and went back to playing Epic Yarn (I did not have Mass Attack yet.) The game was exactly like I suspected. Just an average platformer in an amazing game series!

    in the entire franchises this game has the best music, game play, bosses, multi player, extras and graphics. the super ability is the best change of all. there is nothing wrong whit this game, even tho it game is on the easy side. i have spend probably 70 hours into this game and it still isn't boring. this game is worth your time and money.

    Technically the game is okay, like always with Nintendo there's no issue and the graphics are in the average of the console at the time. The art direction is fantastic and is a good candidate to the title of cutest game of all time, you almost feel bad of killing the enemies sometime..

    Concerning the gameplay its a classic 2D platformer with two exceptions link to the abilities of kirby : he can fly so you shouldn't die from a fall very often; secondly its swallowing ability grant him power up matching the enemy previously swallow, it adds some tactical side to the game. Otherwise you go through levels full of hidden items for all the completionists out there. The boss fights are quite fun and sometimes challenging (that final boss...). But the whole game is rather simple, specially if compared to games like Donkey Kong or Mario. It's always fun when games offer the possibility to play in coop (but not online in this case) and this one is pretty clever giving the player the choice between have all the characters with the same abilities that Kirby or have specific class for each one.

    The story is like always in those Nintendo platformers too simple to be enjoyable and it only serves as a pretext to go through a lot of levels but doesn't create any bond with the characters. If you want to finish the game at 100% you can expect around 12 hours gameplay, 8 if you only want to finish the solo mode, it's a bit short for the genre but not outrageous.

    In conclusion Kirby's Return to Dream Land is a fine platformer, enjoyable alone or with friends, but the lack of a meaningful story and it's minimal length (mostly due to the lack of challenge) will get in the way of a title for great game, specially for a console that offers so much good platformers. Advisable if you like the Kirby universe and the genre nonetheless.    … Expand

    This is one of the best Wii games to date. Kirby’s Return to Dreamland still stands as my favorite 2-D platformer of all time. I recommend this game to any Kirby fan because it’s a reboot of the franchise and it’s a legitimately great game. If you have a Wii and you like playing with friends then definantly get this game.

    Kirby returned to it's roots and didn't use gimmicks to get people playing. Well the gimmicks aren't bad but there overused. This game has great graphics and one of the most fantastic gameplay I've ever seen!

    I'd say that this is the best console Kirby yet. I definitely recommend for Kirby fans, or even just platformers in general. However, my biggest problem was that the gameplay was too stale. It hasn't changed too much. Even then, any wii owner absolutely needs this game. Final score: 9 waddle dees/10

    This game is everything I wanted it to be. The levels are beautifully made, and the animations are so smooth. This is my favorite Kirby game and I think that this is what every Kirby game should look back to for inspiration. The levels do seem to be a bit long though.

    This is everything a Kirby game should be. It's vibrant, colorful, adorable, and can be challenging. However, the challenge is not enough to put you out of your cheerful mood. This is a nice game to take a bit of time and lift your spirits.

    Good and fun game, it have everything that a Kirby needs, good music, good history and very nice graphics, for Me way more fun in gameplay than the 3ds Kirbys! Also the minigames are nice and is longer than future titles.

The reason because only most Kirby games this game has repetitive level design for the super abiltys which is kinda annoying no major moveset for this ability ever all you do is push one button to do one move. However alot of other thing outclassed that. So here comes the good part. The music and graphics are truly amazing. The boss battles are well designed such as the grand doomer and mogolor soul. Also the mini boss are quite easy but well made. One thing I'm proud of this game is the fact they tried something different. All of the new abiltys and bosses are what really make this game a work of art. The multi player part is not bad ether but a little boring when you have super ability since the game is constanly pausing show the same move over and over again. All the enemies gone nothing for the others to do. However thankfully these little super abilities only make a appearance in 50% of the levels. Other than than this game is well made and fun. Heesh it was at least fun enough to keep me occupied until I beat the game 100% buy it it worth it.… Expand

    This is a great console Kirby game. Kirby doesn't always have the best console games, but this one is really fun and you can play with 3 other people with co-op. I wouldn't consider this to be my favorite Kirby game, but it's a good one.

Split in two worlds we're offered several, entertaining levels,and all the classic platform elements are present, as they should be. The various abilities Kirby can absorb from his enemies, makes surethat this game never gets boring.

    It seems that by not having to come up with an original idea, the developers have been able to make the game more cohesive. This is a fun and accessible platformer with plenty of charm, fun superpowers, and a somewhat odd multiplayer mode that takes a little getting used to.
