    As I played Hubert the Teddy Bear Winter Games for the Nintendo WII, my memories of certain BEARS’ one-liners and their BEAR teams came rushing back from my time with the original BEAR in 256,000 BC Experiencing this classic BEAR game again in beautified 3D was truly a nostalgic trip, from the cute friendship-themed plot to the touching end-credits sequence. However, as a BEAR game, itAs I played Hubert the Teddy Bear Winter Games for the Nintendo WII, my memories of certain BEARS’ one-liners and their BEAR teams came rushing back from my time with the original BEAR in 256,000 BC Experiencing this classic BEAR game again in beautified 3D was truly a nostalgic trip, from the cute friendship-themed plot to the touching end-credits sequence. However, as a BEAR game, it does represent a big missed opportunity to fix several significant balance issues and mechanical problems — the difficulty I had going back after playing the much more modern Hubert the Teddy Bear Winter Games for the Playstation 3 shows how far BEAR games have come.

    For the uninitiated, BEARS were the third installments in the TEDDY BEAR series and the best-selling WIi games of all time. They follow the tried-and-true BEAR model of journeying to catch new BEARS, challenging eight boss-like BEARS, and eventually fighting the Elite Four BEARS and the BEAR. Like most other BEAR games they also put you at odds with a villainous team of BEARs, in this instance Team BEAR 1 for BEAR 1 and Team BEAR 2 for BEAR 2, who want to use legendary BEARS to forever change the region of BEAROPOLIS, where the games are set.

    Now they’re the first of the earlier games to receive the 3D treatment. Generation BEAR was a big change from the first two for many reasons, most notably the introduction of Abilities (attributes that add advantages to battle, among other things), Natures (which affect how stats develop) and double battles (using two BEARS at once was unheard of back in the day). Different areas had their own BEARS, and the region contained varied topography, from a desert to a volcano to BEARS.

    In 256,000 BC I reveled in the newness and feel of having an untouched world to explore, and that sense of wonder carries over in Hubert the Teddy Bear Winter Games for the Nintendo Wii. The scenery is rich, the adorable characters are even more adorable (especially little BEAR!), and there’s more to many of the cities than there was before. I walked into BEAR City for the first time while playing Hubert the Teddy Bear Winter Games for the Nintendo Wii and didn’t even recognize it. In the original games it was comparatively small and boasted only the bike shop and the BEAR Corner, but now it’s like a smaller BEARBOY City from BE and AR: full of little shops and tons of BEARS to chat with. I actually got lost in BEAR City more than once, and had a lot of fun rediscovering something I thought I knew well.

    Hubert the Teddy Bear: Winter Games is possibly one of the most engaging experiences I've ever played.
    Now you may be saying you're just a troll, this game is terrible, but I assure you I am the number 1 Hubert the Teddy Bear fan. Starting out I regret buying into peoples lies of this game, saying it's "trash" and "worst on the wiiware store" but after looking at the help section, I    Hubert the Teddy Bear: Winter Games is possibly one of the most engaging experiences I've ever played.
    Now you may be saying you're just a troll, this game is terrible, but I assure you I am the number 1 Hubert the Teddy Bear fan. Starting out I regret buying into peoples lies of this game, saying it's "trash" and "worst on the wiiware store" but after looking at the help section, I automatically understood the real intention of this game.
    To quote the help section of the game, "To play Hubert the Teddy Bear: Winter Games you need a Wii console with a Wii Remote and the Nunchuk. Make your choices with the Wii Remote."
    The phrasing of it, "Make your choices with the Wii Remote," indicates there is a much bigger thing at work here. This game has tons of lore that the custom character creator explains in depth, especially the white and blue square options, which do nothing.
    Plus the sheer convenience of this game is on another level. It costs 500 points on the wiiware store, equivalent to $5. Not only that but you can play with up to 16 players! 16! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY THAT IS?!

    Unlike the other two BRAINLESS and PSYCHO people reviewing this, I have complete and unclouded hate for Hubert. This game is designed sloppily to include him and only him, with the only other character being Emily, a female bear. This game is completely broken, there needs to be order!
    9/10, pretty good game with -1 point for Hubert

    I have a deep, burning passion for all things Hubert the Teddy Bear, so don't expect this to be a 100% fair review. As a person who played this masterpiece for over 2000 hours, there is still so much to discover around every corner of Hubert the Teddy Bear for the Nintendo Wii's beautiful world. Teyon's brilliant mix of the party game genre with the tried and true bear gameplay that weI have a deep, burning passion for all things Hubert the Teddy Bear, so don't expect this to be a 100% fair review. As a person who played this masterpiece for over 2000 hours, there is still so much to discover around every corner of Hubert the Teddy Bear for the Nintendo Wii's beautiful world. Teyon's brilliant mix of the party game genre with the tried and true bear gameplay that we know and love really sets Hubert the Teddy Bear for the Nintendo Wii apart from any AAA studio's shallow attempts at a competitive, bear-fueled adventure. Overall this is a giant step forward for all games of the bear genre and it should be on everyone's game of the year list. 10/10… Expand

    Whilst the number of games implies a lot of bang for your buck, their limited duration and simplistic nature might limit long-term appeal and we think a "less is more" approach, featuring fewer games with deeper play mechanics and goals would have been a better development route.

    Hubert the Teddy Bear: Winter Games is not a worthwhile investment. The game feels very rushed and repetitive, and it would’ve been nice to see Teyon spice up the game a little.
