    Don't listen to Game Informer, they are the worst and most biased reviewers out there. They're like the Armond White of the video game industry and their reviews are short and irrelevant to what matters: is the game fun? And the answer in this case is yes.

    Stop comparing it to the dated N64 game - this is a RE-IMAGINING. Not a remake.     A pretty damn good Wii shooter. Controls are much better even if too similar to the Call of Duty control scheme, Multi-player is still as fun as the N64 Goldeneye, either online or offline split screen and the story is a decent Bond story and probably better than the film. Though faithful to the original, it does have some issues. Online multi-player has some lag issues at times andA pretty damn good Wii shooter.     As far as graphics are concerned the GoldenEye 007 is a looker on the Wii, despite its constant straight lines and lack of curves on weapons (maybe this is due to its licensing limits, the only licensed guns are the AK-47 and P99 and even the AK-47 isn't completely accurate in terms of curves and straight lines).     I wanted to love this ... I didn't. First, the re-imaging is hard for me -- I don't believe in re-writing history. Second, the controls are dreadfully bad-- still don't know what people are talking about. Just move along, there's unfortunately nothing to see here ...

    Ok story now changed totally the first few level 's is ok but after you go to these other places that was NEVER in Golden eye in the first place so why put them in this game if they mean nothing to the game?

    And oh yes you get Dan Craig in this time not Bros man that I did not like they should stick with the old people the first people who was in this game.

    Also a new villain but I rather have back Sean Bean as him he was better.

    The on line part can be annoying if the host leaves you leave to due to lag and then you lose the points you gained then back for more games. On line can lag a bit for this game, then the levels has made a lot I never heard before in the other Golden eye game for the mu lit-player mode.

    As the health it regains instead of picking up armour like the old days this time it's like a COD wannabe to get the fans more money from them by selling short with this game and completely destroy most of it and trying to make it good to sell.

    It looks so sloppy and new levels that's it that you never heard before.

    Note, where is a guy who shoots at the screen? Har har he don't the other version did and no Golden eye music like the N64 one just a bad dull one they should copy and paste the music from N64 one then onto there so easy, instead having a new soundtrack to the game that sounds nothing like a James Bond theme at all.

    Weapons are almost gone too I only find a few looks like they ditched the other good guns on the other one too.

    A very solid effort for the Wii. Although not in the same league as its 64 brother, its still an enjoyable experience. Those looking to relive the old 64 days would be better served to get the old console out. This still has hours upon hours of game time with a good storyline and excellent multiplayer.

    Golden Eye 007 is a great game. the only hit i can give it is the frame rate drops sometimes. The story mode is fun and fresh. Remakes are rarely as good as the original which is why i think the changes they made to the story are welcome.     I just bought this game and I have to say this is one of the best games on the Wii. Having to not complete this yet, while noting that I have never played the N64 so I do not behold the nostalgic values over this, with amazing gameplay aside the not-so-great graphics, it still has a lot to live up to.     I didn't play the original but this was a very enjoyable game on its own. Particularly good was the stealth based missions. The game overall plays like Call of Duty, except that you are alone for pretty much the entire game and you need to sneak around a lot, which is definitely a huge plus for me. Overall the singleplayer was hugely enjoyable for me, so definitely worth a playthrough in my opinion.… Expand

    I personally think that this game is better than the N64 version.
    The AI is improved GREATLY, there are more weapons, the controls are better, and quite frankly, I like Daniel Craig more then Pierce Brosnan.
    The multiplayer is as good as ever.
    I only wish the modifiers could be used online. That would have been awesome.
    Either way, this is a must buy.

    After reading different reviews and playing the game I really do need to say that only fans should apply. This game is everything a nostalgia trip should be, they modernized the 64 perfectly, altered the story (and changed bonds voice) just enough to breathe some original life into it.     God, I didn't expect such a great effort on the making of this game. It was completely worth every penny. The campaign is awesome and badass, Daniel Craig was a good replacement Bond, and even though I played the original game and knew all the plot twists coming up, I was still shocked at most of them! Two, the insanely difficult 007 Classic mode. Now, I love a good challenge, I love 'em. But seriously! Only people who have beaten Legend of Zelda without the sword could have a possible chance at beating it! Other than that, it's as good as gold. Get it?… Expand

    I bought the game pack with the classic controller + game + gun and was a bargain. The gun even looks better than the Wii Zapper. The problems of the game I found is the absence of bots (multiplayer) and hackers in the online mode but it happens to all games with the Wii online.
    Forget the modern warfare and all its clones, this is simply the best first person shooter on the Wii and quite    I bought the game pack with the classic controller + game + gun and was a bargain. If they didn't change the level design at all, then who in their right mind would pay them? LOL a good portion of the levels and the objectives I've played through are nearly identical. Yes, it plays like CoD... ACTIVISION MADE IT! This is my first review online for ANY game, but it doesn't take an expert critic to say that this is (so far) an entertaining and well made game with decent multiplayer action. I'll assume the replay value is high as there are multiple difficulty levels with different objectives (as well as online play!) If you think ANY wii game is worth $50 then pick this one up!… Expand

    This game is very good, like Goldeneye of Nintendo 64. Eurocom give to us a good remake of the best FPS in the world! The graphics and control are very good, but the soundtrack is not as good as the classic. The multiplayer is one of the best in the Wii and the online is good.

    If you have Wii and like FPS, you MUST play this game

I was trying to sit in class while thinking about this game coming out, i couldnt so i left and without any thought bought the game based simply on the name, even though Goldeneye 2 blew.     Not as good as the original. The short y-axis is silly, and the modern health recovery system takes away from the experience. Cowering behind crates while you heal just doesn't feel like Bond.

    Simply amazing, I loved the n64 original - the wii version is fantastic!! Great wii-remote controls, great splitscreen action and now I'm delving into the fantastic online multiplayer!!! Wow! Thankyou nintendo for bringing goldeneye back!

The great controls and tautly woven story segments make this a dream to play. Couple that with the excellent online features and this shooter rises above most shooters on ANY console this generation.     Grahics = 0 and why (8 for me, why? The Wii at it's best can't achieve a 10, where is HD when you need it.

    Sound = 0 and why (9 for me, why? There was much care given to sound in this game, every enviroment contained a very realistic sound for where the gameplay took place....the bullet impact was great.

    Gameplay = 0 and why (9 for me, why? The feel of this game, especially compared to the Conduit, was tighter, movement felt good, recoil seemed appropriate, etc...)

    Replay = 0 and why (7 for me, but I'm basing that score off of replying the SP mode only. The missions were all balanced and well done, but I can't see enjoying it as much with a second play-through, half of the fun was seeing (comparing) how they had changed/improved from the original. I haven't played the MP as of yet.    … Expand

Being able to shoot villains your self, is FAR more exciting, than HD-Ready graphics!!! I also recommend using Skype for voice chat when playing with friends, it makes Goldeneye Wii a complete modern FPS masterpice. Oh, and this is not the15    Best FPS on any system.

On that multi-player note, do not be fooled by the names of familiar locations--they are all noticeably different, not in a bad way (in fact the larger arenas with more options for cover and sniping positions is fun) but do not expect levels you are familiar with. Most notably what brings down an otherwise fresh take on a classic FPS is the severe lack of y-axis field of vision. You are limited to the top and bottom of your screen, as the y-axis will not pan up or down--making stairwells and hills particularly treacherous. The lack of bots in multi-player is also rather frustrating, as this wonderful addition to the FPS realm was implemented back in 2000 with Perfect Dark, so why this popular component was not included here is anyone's guess. While an enjoyable FPS game, in the mind of this long-time gamer the severe restriction on the y-axis leads to enough frustration to limit the amount of time you will spend with Agent 007.… Expand

    An excellent remake to an old classic, call it a tribute to the old times with all the thrill and excitement brought to life by a new James Bond. Thoroughly enjoy playing it for a long time to come.

The best part of the game is the mulitplayer. Plain fun. No people abusing killstreaks. Just plain gun on gun fun. So many choices and combinations to play the game. The multiplayer has 200 options on how you can play it. It's amazing. Just like the N64 version. Must buy for any fan of Bond or shooters.… Expand

GoldenEye came completely out of nowhere, so obviously, all Wii owners got really hyped when it was announced. Instead of releasing the original GoldenEye onto Nintendos Wii VC, Activision basically said, let's do somethingThis game was a huge surprise when it was announced last year. Instead of releasing the original GoldenEye onto Nintendos Wii VC, Activision basically said, let's do something better than that. How about a whole freakin remake? An amazing idea in my opinion. So, without further distraction, let's jump into it. When I play a remake of a favorite game, what I expect to see is everything that the original had, but with new content. Does the remake do it? Absolutely. Some people might be sidetracked by the graphics and think the graphics are downgraded because of the fact that it's on Wii. On the contrary. Activision actually confirmed that they could've made the graphics alot better if they wanted to, regardless of the fact that it's a Wii exclusive. The reason they made the graphics like this is because they wanted to make the game feel like the original as much as possible, even graphics-wise. Smart move in my opinion, because most of the time if a remake has enhanced graphics, it ruins the feeling the original had. Even if the graphics are primitive compared to this gens games, the graphics still look great. But I'm a guy who doesn't give a crap about realistic graphics, so it's probably just me lol. The gameplay mechanics run more on the Call of Duty engine this time, so if you play alot of Call of Duty, you'll instantly become familiar with how the game plays. You also have a choice between 4 different controllers to use. GoldenEye Wii can be played the Wiimote and Numchuk, the Wii Zapper, the Classic Controller Pro, or the Gamecube controller. If that's not enough controller choice for you, you're just being difficult. Most people, however, will go with the Classic Controller Pro, since it's much like a PS2 controller, and unlike the regular Classic Controller, the Classic Controller Pro has trigger buttons that are meant for shooters. WIN! In my opinion, the Call of Duty engine works great with this game, and it's even better that the motion controls are completely optional for those who hate the motion control gimmick. Then of course you got the campaign. I have to say, the campaign is the weakest part of this game. I personally enjoyed it until I got to the final boss. The final boss is too long and alittle too hard. It took me about 20 tries before I finally beat him on NORMAL mode. lol. Then of course you got the multiplayer. Guess what? It has online multiplayer!! A very epic win!! Now some people might think the games multiplayer is horrible because of the Wiis laggy online. I have been playing this game online for months now, and I have yet to experience a laggy game at all. The online actually runs very smoothly in this game, and the best part is, it's harder to hack a Wii game than it is to hack a PS3 or 360 game, so you'll run into VERY few hackers and modders and cheaters in this game. The problem with the online though is, of course, trying to play with friends online. That's always a ploblem with the Wii's online, and of course the game doesn't support Wii Speak, so it's impossible to talk to players online while playing. These are a couple of bummers, but the game mainly promotes split screen, which I think is great. After all, playing online is fun for sure, but we all know that getting together with friends, and playing multiplayer on the couch, is way more fun than playing online. The problem with games today is that they mainly just do online multiplayer, some of the big favorites of today don't even have a split screen option. So the fact that there is a really great game out there that mainly promotes classic split screen is awesome. I mean, I love online multiplayer. But I still love split screen too. Split screen opens up to game parties, or just hanging with your beer buds. Bottom line, the game is fantastic. And though it lacks in the campaing and online areas, it's still alot of fun to play. And for those of you out there who are complaining that this game isn't on 360 or PS3, STOP BEING A FANBOY AND GET A LIFE!! The Wii is a great system, and it has great games, and this is one of them. If you can't handle the fact that the Wii has a great shooter that you guys want, why not just lighten up and buy a Wii? Fanboys.....     Fantastic re-do of the original. Love seeing the old levels with better polish and some new parts to them. Also love being able to play online and pretend I'm back in the dorms again with this great, classic shooter. A must buy for anyone around 30 years old with fond memories of the original.

    I have to say that I grow more and more tired of the same old drivel getting great scores from the brain dead reviewers of the art form we love. There is nothing wrong with this game other than the fact that it is a rather cynical attempt to rake in some cash.     It's so wonderful to see a re-imagining of a classic. Activision could have just copied all the original gameplay but they literally re-did all the games graphics, gameplay, sound, etc. The options for multiple control options is wonderful for multiplayer. Get the game if you want to have loads of fun with friends!

    This game is fantastic as it should be expected. Eurocom is the king of making bond games in my opinion when they made Nightfire for PS2 it was the definitive successor to the original Goldeneye. They just completely understand what makes Bond what it is. I'm happy to report that they got this one right as well.     The gameplay is brilliant on the engaging single-player campaign mode, and of course on multiplayer, the latter available either on local split-screen (just like the good old days!) or online, with matches of up to 8 people. Online play is occasionally prone to the odd lag, but nothing you wouldn't expect on games like Halo or CoD. The large range of unlockables (weapons, gadgets, sights, perks etc) is also a good addition.

Off-line multi-player, you are bound throw away hours of your life with friends, killing each other up with proximity mines and golden guns. Online, you get to enjoy the same thing, although there are some hiccups here. There is no voice chat, a staple among online FPS, and game hosting (or rather the host leaving) can be a bit unnerving.

    If you are mostly interested in the single player mode, you wont be disappointed. While it does not exactly follow the movie or the original game scene for scene (or level for level), it takes its own route and does an excellent job at it. It does a great mix of simple FPS, button timing, and cut scenes. The biggest issue you may have is graphics. Keeping in mind that this is on the Wii, there are still better looking games on the Wii, however, they are decent and are no where near the worst Wii graphics.

    I do believe that all the good things about this game by far overshadow the missteps taken. Understanding that with a system like the Wii, some sacrifices must be made, and the ones taken were appropriate. I would give the single player a 9.5, offline multi-player a 9.5, and the offline multi-player a 8.5 to 9, so overall I would give this game a 9.    … Expand

In call of duty, you are a soldier in the army, they always paint it as serious and realistic. Here we see what kind of fps activision can make not restrained within the confines of the war motif. You are a secret agent and because of that this game gets to give the player settings and scenarios more fun then any, "kill all the terrorists" fsp campaign. Setpieces are ridiculous in scope and the graphics are nicely done and smooth. It isn't the exact same story as the movie either, it feels like they didn't just remake the game Goldeneye they also remade the movie on top of that. But in a real good way. It's replayable as heck! The concept of stealth verses force is always there and there is always a way to make through the level without being caught, This is exactly what i wanted from the campaign and it works so well.

    Controls are great in split screen and online multiplayer. I have become accustomed to wiimote/nunchuck controls in previous wii fps titles and really appreciate it. This game doesn't exactly do those pointer controls perfectly. Once in a while you'll point outside of the screen and seems very limited in the range of pointing. It makes the game more frantic since smaller adjustments really do do more in this case. But if your a dual analog addict then classic controller pro works great too but needs minor sensitivity adjustments before gameplay. The modes include all the greats from goldeneye plus some really creative new additions. The part that got me is the darn near pitch perfect multiplayer map design, tons of hiding places, a clear theme for weapons for each level, and each level has a flow and feel that makes it really feel like an old multiplayer game of goldeneye. If there was one thing they got right, it was that.

    All in all, this game is just plain fun, it offers a huge amount of content and replay. In my opinion it out does the original in many many ways. Don't believe the hate. This really and damned good game. In all rights it kinda does deserve the popularity of the original. Yet it will never happen because of the way gamers regard the wii today. But if your a real gamer, a gamer who didn't start gaming in 1996, this title is an absolute treat and more then worthy for you to "dig out that wii" for.    … Expand

    I really wanted to like this game, honestly I expected to love it, but it has so many flaws I couldn't help but hate it, first off this feels more like a Call of Duty game than a James Bond one, and while there are several control options of the ones I had the options of using all were flawed, which is sad because I had always thought that the controls would have worked really well withI really wanted to like this game, honestly I expected to love it, but it has so many flaws I couldn't help but hate it, first off this feels more like a Call of Duty game than a James Bond one, and while there are several control options of the ones I had the options of using all were flawed, which is sad because I had always thought that the controls would have worked really well with the Wii controller, but they don't, having to drag the reticle around the screen to turn hurts your reaction time, so I used the GameCube controller most of the game which had some responsiveness issues, I've never played the N64 version, but I have seen the movie, and this is definitely a re-imagining of the movies plot made to fit more with the Daniel Craig interpretation of Bond, so you'll notice twist on familiar characters or moments from the movie, the graphics are decent for a Wii game, and the voice acting is awesome, the guns in this game aren't really enjoyable, some are completely overpowered, I was able to drop an enemy with one shot halfway across the map with one shot with 90% of the shotguns, other weapons feel completely useless, and the campaign also contains a tank driving level which was the most fun part of the campaign, and I actually found that the tank controlled a little bit easier with the Wii controller and Nun-chuck, also it does have multiplayer but the control problems are also here, and the maps aren't really impressive, there also isn't any voice chat option, but that's a minor disappointment, honestly I really thought I was going to love this game, but I can't recommend this to anyone, avoid at all costs.… Expand

    I do think this is a great remake. The graphics could be better but they are ok. In some stages, particularly in the end, it can look really beautiful. The gameplay is awesome and the accuracy of the wiiremote plus as a gun is really good. The only thing missing is the classic intro where James shoots the screen ;)

    Now, I'm not totally blinded by nostalgia. I didn't expect a straight-up remake. GoldenEye on N64 is a game we all played and loved as children, but it hasn't aged well by any stretch of the imagination. That said, they could have taken the TimeSplitters approach and brought that style of gameplay up to a more modern standard, as well as stuck closer to the original blueprint in regards to level design.

    As it is, this is simply a decent game that fails at its two primary objectives: being a remake, and reminding us why we loved the original to begin with. If you're a Wii-only gamer looking for something worth playing, this should satiate you for a while. If you're someone who grew up on GoldenEye expecting to relive childhood memories, you're not going to find them here.    … Expand

    One thing that gets me is that the game can't decide what it wants to be, either CoD or N64 Goldeneye, then tries to be a mix of both and ends up feeling all wrong! It uses the CoD health system (in which your health regenerates) and yet tries to give it self more of a gun and run feel, I can't help but think this game should have brought back the old health pack and body armor way of FPShooters.

    The thing that most annoys me about this game is the stupid connection or lag the seems to plague my system... and by the look of some of the reviews I'd think it was only mine, till i reliese its purely down to host connection. I can't tell you how many times I have emptied an entire clip on someone only to hit them once or twice (With burst fire BTW) then have them turn around and waste me! All the guns other then shotgun are junk, meaning that the people who pick the shotgun with more often then not prosper, to be fair thou there is such a lack of guns in this game its unreal, its like the makers of the game wanted to keep true to the 64 game that this game mocks just by being one minute and then be modern the next with weapon scoping... What with like 5 guns!

    I hate the way that when you scope the game locks on to someone, however because no one in there right mind would stay still... especially after taking a few hits it really ends up doing more harm then good, Very frustrating.

    No Wii speak, No way of keeping in touch with people you meet on like, no fun to be had. Only saving grace is that there is still always a game to be had, but for the price you would be silly to not get CoD Black Ops if you want a Wii FPS    … Expand

(only requires 1 installed game from the list of 16 on steam, and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch is only 4.99) The source mod is free, just FYI.… Expand

    I'm about a year late reviewing this. I think this is easily one of the best shooting games for the Wii. It does not equal the excellence of Goldeneye of N64 but on its own merit, it is still a very good game. Great controls, good single player, and a surprisingly fun multiplayer mode that has a COD like unlocking system (the more levels you gain, the more weapons, etc. that unlock).I'm about a year late reviewing this. I think this is easily one of the best shooting games for the Wii. It does not equal the excellence of Goldeneye of N64 but on its own merit, it is still a very good game. Great controls, good single player, and a surprisingly fun multiplayer mode that has a COD like unlocking system (the more levels you gain, the more weapons, etc. that unlock). The only downsides are the graphics, which are a bit subpar even for a Wii game, and the lack of voice options in multiplayer (although I don't miss it too much because the voice chat on other systems can be annoying and downright obnoxious).

    If you're looking for a good shooter for the Wii, look no further. After being out for one year, I still pick this game up and play. And at $20 at most places now, this game is an absolute must for fans of first person shooters.    … Expand

The soundtrack is very appropriate and is pleasing when putting bullets into your enemies. The story is also well-constructed, following the Bond movie of the same name.

    GAMEPLAY:
    The single-player campaign on Goldeneye 007 is a great blast, full of cinematic shots and bullet-storms. The Wii handles the constant shots from everywhere very well, and the shooting is very good. With multiple control methods, there will definitely be something for you: I prefer the Classic Controller Pro but many like the IR pointer controls. The multiplayer is also a great experience which runs really well. There are a good quantity of modes and maps, allowing for a variety of gameplay styles. Are you a sniper? Go play 'Jungle'. Like intense fire fights? Sewer's for you! This game is also pretty long- the campaign will last you 8 hours but the multiplayer will suck hours from your life!

    Play this game. You have to. This re-imagining of the N64 classic is well worth the money, with tight, long-lasting gameplay. 9/10    … Expand

    A great game on the Wii. Multiplayer is fun and very competitive. Problems I have is that you can't chat with other players. Also, it is very easy to spawn kill. The single player is fun. Graphics are pretty good considering it's a Wii game. They could be a bit better.

    The graphics and sound are great for a Wii game. The game does suffer some framerate drops here and there. The gunplay is satisfying with the wiimote and the controls work well. The AI is overall good and the mission structure works well. The level design is also impressive. The game features plenty of online modes and a four player splitscreen option. One of the best wii shooters.

The Graphics are very good for the wii but at some points the framrate will drop when the scene is hectic.     Classic FPS with motion controls and I love the on-line. Goodbye Dual analog sticks you got love DP3 plus Golden Gun. Daniel Craig makes not only good movies he makes great video games. Activision finally impressed me.

The multiplayer is pretty cool as well. in all honesty, the only thing I didn't like about local multilayer was that some areas would be sealed off, but open in online multiplayer. As for online multiplayer, it's does fairly well, but isn't real fun, since the friend system requires the whole "Friend Code" thing, and no voice chat supporting the game baffles me. There were some aspects, however, that I did not like as much. The graphics are ok, but sometimes look a bit glaring. I find myself lost sometimes because of really dark or really bright areas. other than that, character models and settings look very nice for a Wii game. Overall, the game is a nice remake that I believe manages to improve on single player, but not so much in multiplayer. if you're going to get this for the multiplayer, forewarning: it won't be as fun as the original N64 game. if you're looking for a better single player, I'd recommend this game.… Expand

    This is the best fps game ever created. It has memorable levels and weapons. Single player is very fun and doesn't get boring. Online multiplayer is super fun. I have played it a lot, I mean a lot.

    The game is played quite cheerfully and uses Wiimote on purpose, sometimes the truth is quite a pain management. So zhehochetsya say that the game is shorter than the original 2-3 hours. But in general it poredelenno worth your attention.

    An engaging storyline, multiple difficulties, and several different control options give this game an incredible replay value. The option to play the game with the GameCube controller is what really sealed the deal for me, though. The multiplayer mode allows you to play as characters from the game as well as previous Bond villains, like Oddjob and Mr. Scaramanga. All in all, a great game.

Some gamers might not like that the story has been modernized and that the cast is different from the movie but if you can accept this fact, you will probably enjoy the game. The game has fourteen missions with four difficulty settings to choose from including 007 classic which means that you must pick up body armor to prevent yourself from being wounded. This health system is exactly the same as GoldenEye N64, The World is Not Enough and Nightfire. The other difficulty settings have your health regenerate but personally, I never liked the regenerating health system especially for first person shooters. There are also time trials for each mission but unfortunately they don't unlock anything.
    While the single player was good, the multiplayer was the real highlight. The multiplayer maps were good and the weapons were balanced out nicely. The shotguns weren't overpowered like in GoldenEye Reloaded or Quantum Of Solace or underpowered like in Blood Stone. Instead you get a good selection of gadgets, weapons and weapon attachments which you get by leveling up. This process ends at level 56 and which takes most gamers about 8 days to reach so it's rewarding when you get there. The only problems I had with the multiplayer were the hackers, the lack of a host migration, the occasional glitches and lag and the fact that everyone had access to the grenade launcher. Still, in terms of modern multiplayer James Bond games, GoldenEye 007 Wii is the best one by far.    … Expand

    The only good Bond game Activision made. The motion controls work really well. The story is serviceable, they rewrote it to make it more up to date. Its nothing special and I prefer the original plot, but it does the job. The gameplay is exciting enough, however there is very little replay value.

    This game is great, still 9 years after launch this is one of my favourite games. Really liked it and hope Activision make some more great games like this that isn't filled with microtransactions like Call of Duty Black Ops 4 (their most recent game.) Campaing is great as well as the multiplayer (even though you can rarely find games anymore.)

    As a huge fan of the original, this is a fine game. One of the things that I love about this game are its motion controls. I know they get a bad rep but I think they work wonderfully here. The sound design in this game is fantastic and its really at its best in the first 2 levels. The game also has a dynamic soundtrack.     I'll start talking about the campaign. Unfortunately I did not get to finish it, because the file got deleted. However I was pretty far into it. Throughout most of the campaign the game gives you the option to go about it in a stealth style or run/gun/cover. Bond always has his silenced P99, which is good for stealth kills. There are a bunch of enemies situated around every level such that you can go about it undercover. However, enemies can notice you very fast with just a mistake and you appear in the open, or if you shoot an enemy that is located in a group and you do not kill off the others fast enough. Personally, I always end up run/gun/cover. I find it more fun that way. I'm not much of a stealth player.

    The story was all right from what I've played of it. I found out the ending from reading up in forums, and I didn't see it coming.

    I don't know if it was really necessary for Activision to incorporate a nostalgic feel to this game to the N64 version. The story isn't even the same. Neither is the game play really. To me, they should have made the graphics better. I am sure the wii can handle much better than this.

    What I really want to talk about is the online multiplayer mode. I've put in a lot of play time here, roughly 11 days. I was about the 10~15th person to reach the top level(56). I think this is the best part of the game and the part that gives it the most replay value. The modes in the online multiplayer is very fun, but the gameplay suffers from some faults. The connection runs relatively smoothly unless you are the host of a game. If you are the host you will lag most of the time. However some people don't lag if they have an amazing connection. My connection is pretty dam good, and I still lag.

    Now host lagging wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't "host quitting". Now, host quitting is when a host of a game leaves. This makes the game end and no XP to be earned. Basically, when the host quits he has just wasted the time and effort you had spent in that match. Not to mention how much XP it takes to reach level 56, this just makes it even more of a pain in the ***. On average in one game, you can get 800, I would say. It is really annoying when you are doing very well and the host gets mad and rage quits. Your efforts have been all wasted.

    There is also a glitch on the friend list where if you add someone and they don't add you back that slot in your friend list is always going to be taken up until they add you back. So if you add someone and they end up quitting and not adding you back ever, then that slot will be forever void.

    In one of the modes, there is a major fault. That is Heroes mode. In that mode each player is given a chance to spawn as the hero. A hero gets extra health, and more power. Not too much though. The fault comes when each person gets a choice whether to be the hero or not. Because the perks of a hero isn't too high people do not have the incentive to spawn hero. Hence the entire match can end up having no heroes which turns into one long team conflict. This totally defeats the purpose of Heroes mode.

    Most important thing I want to talk about is "ADS snap". This is where the player's reticule will automatically snap to the core of the target when he or she aims down their sights. Alright, this would be completely fine if it were only in single player mode, so that novices can have a crutch. But no, it can be enabled in online play. I find this feature ridiculously broken. At a distance, without ads snap it actually takes a bit to aim and shoot for a headshot. With ADS snap, you can aim down your sights, tilt up a bit and boom, head shot, in no time. Only time it is not useful is close range combat, but overall I find it broken.

    Attractive looking update of the groundbreaking N64 game that features all of the added polish you'd expect from the greater processing power involved. Not a classic like its predecessor, but a it's a good, solid FPS that'll please Bond fans.

    GoldenEye doesn't tarnish the original and doesn't try to be a carbon copy either, but it is hindered by problems which were always going to be hard to surmount. If you're panging for a bit of Bond and something to play with friends round, you could do a lot worse than what is a fine revival of a classic.
