    How can the same team that produced the outstanding Fight Night Round 3 - which is arguably the best boxing simulation in videogame history - also associate its name with one of the poorest boxing titles every made? I honestly have no idea - and call me stuck in my ways, but I'm off to download Punch-Out!! from the Virtual Console and have myself some actual fun.

    For someone who absolutely must have a new fighting game at his next Wii get-together with friends, sure, FaceBreaker K.O. Party is the way to go, and it's only 40 bucks. But for anyone looking to fight a friend for hours at a time (on one console, of course; the Wii version did lose online capabilities), or to enjoy a robust and reasonably challenging single-player mode, this just isn't comparable to something from, say, the Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, or Soul Calibur franchises.

    All in all FaceBreaker K.O Party is a decent Wii boxing game. Its definitely not up to standards with the Fight Night series, but it also doesn’t strive to be.

    Facebreaker is a hard title to rate. It’s lacks the depth of a fighter, the skill of a boxing title, and the super cheap AI can and will put most people off. Yet, the gameplay is so fast and furious, it does have the potential to be fun. Add a few friends to the mix, and you’ve got a reason to at least rent it for a weekend.

    If you're after some boxing action on the Wii, it might be best to stick with Wii Sports for now and wait for Punch-Out!! This simply won't satisfy.

    Facebreaker shows some promise at the start; it’s plucky, full of spunk, and mildly charming. But play it more and it becomes apparent that it’s nothing but a one tricky pony. That charm and dazzle soon withers away along with your enthusiasm, and Facebreaker ends up punching itself in the face.

    Facebreaker K.O. Party is a bit of a let down, it should have improved on the Xbox 360 version but the controllers do not add anything, in fact they make the game a bit worse.

It's just so fun to virtually beat the sh*t out of your friends/girlfriend :) The controls are very good, in fact 1:1 responsive, nice graphics, nice EA Trax soundtrack as usual, the characters are nice and funny, but nowhere near as iconic as MK or Tekken characters.
    The only problem is the cheap Cpu A.I. It cheats sometimes, therefore you have to try many times if you want to win. Choose Romeo or Molotov, it's much easier to play with them, and you wont get pissed so often.
    It's a great partygame even if not the best fighting game on the system, but definately better, than what the critics say    … Full Review »

In my opinion better graphics than the rest if ya like the cartoony comic type of stuff. Really easy to jump into a quick game. Was disappointed that there is no first person perspective in any of the scenarios, Boooo. It also lacks the immersion of being in the game as far as actual body movements with the remotes, not bad tough. All in all it was worth the $40 but no more. Still waiting for a more realistic version of the Wii sports boxing! Please someone give us a decent first person perspective.… Full Review »
