A licensed game usually never manages to deliver a great experience, but Brave pulls this off well. Even though the combat is simple and repetitive, it's still fun. Even though it has a few down moments in it's platforming sections, it's still a great game.

Pros: Smooth gameplay Great locations Good controls The Elements you use for your bow and sword Excellent graphics Fun

I really enjoyed this game as did my kids. The game tied in nicely with the movie, the music was excellent and the graphics were surprisingly good (Wii). The Wii controls were a little clumsy but certainly not frustrating or detract much from the game. I actually like the fact that this game doesn't take forever to complete. I enjoy the likes of Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles (the reason II really enjoyed this game as did my kids. I enjoy the likes of Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles (the reason I still have my Wii), but those games require a substantial time commitment that's often hard for a casual player to find. I like that you can make significant headway through this game on a rainy afternoon. Good enjoyable fun for everyone in the family. Expand

A licensed game that manages to work on its own terms, but only just pulls it off. [Oct 2012, p.97]

Brave could have been more creative and capable. Extremely simple, linear and without great power of persuasion, only the younger ones may feel interested in investing some time in a game like this.

The motion-controlled melee combat is flawed, so the most effective way to defeat baddies is by playing the game like a twin-stick shooter---albeit a twin-stick shooter with sometimes-temperamental auto-aim. [July 2012, p.82]
