Colourful, playful and ultimately---nintendoesque. I've been playing it with my 3 children for a while now and it is brilliant fun. We are huge Mario fans in our house and we adore this game. A must for all nintendo fans and families.

This game is not terrible, what makes me rate it so low is how good it's prequals were. Marioparty 8 is far better, but I guess that's what Nintendo gets for giving the IP to NDCube.

It's a Mario Party game. Not much else to say, except that the car mechanic is made up for with the Bowser mode.

All three main game modes are a blast, and they are different enough (including different mini-games) that the game doesn't get stale. One car has upset most reviewers, but it's a great addition With specific bonus dice, you can easily set up the next person to fail by putting them in a bad spot. You have complete control over the location of the next person, forcing them to hit a space that takes away their stars. This is far more strategic than everyone moving on their own. Additionally, the amiibo support is great. Just as you would with a real board game, you use your game piece on every move, simulating the movement you would do on a real board game. I'm not sure why this has been lost on most reviewers, but it seems that the obvious is not always obvious for everyone.

The addition of bonus games puts this installment of mario party over the top. Each bonus game is easily a $6 or $7 dollar game on it's own, the inclusion keeps the game even more interesting and fun.

Overall, this is a fantastic game. The mini-games are a blast and vary by game type, the strategy is intense and fun, and the bonus games add a level of fun that isn't seen in most games. Give this game a shot, or at least watch game play before coming to a decision about it. Another solid release by Nintendo.

When I bought this game, I assumed it would annoy me as much as the 3DS one. Glad to say this is one of the most enjoyable Mario Parties in recent years. The graphics are nice, the sound is usual Nintendo goodness.

If you have 2-4 friends around, you'll have a great time with Bowser Party, the Bowser vs 4 mode where the mighty Koopa King's goal is to destroy all of Mario and friends hearts before they get to the end of the board. Might sound easy, but in the car thing from Mario Party 9, the 4 players have to race to the end, collecting extra hearts and special dice blocks to help them on their way, while avoiding certain spaces that will give Bowser the advantage or move you back. Once all players have their dice roll, they can only hope that Bowser''s 4 dice rolls don't get them, or else there will be a minigame with survival on the line. Games of Bowser party can get crazy, with most games being a close race to the end with barely any hearts. Greatest edition to Mario Party in my opinion.
Then if u have 2-4 Wii Remotes, you can have an enjoyable time with Mario Party. Most people who played one of the older Mario Party titles will probably dislike this, because of the "everyone moving in the same car" thing, and all boards being linear. I can understand that, and it would've been nice if they added a classic Mario Party style board or 2, but maybe they'll learn for the eventual #11. But if you don't mind linear, you'll have a good time. It's basically all 4 of you taking turns rolling dice, collecting Mini-Stars, while trying to avoid the Dark Mini Stars, with a couple of minigames thrown in if you land on the vs spaces. This is also a bad idea. Why the hell are their spaces for the minigames? They should be after every turn, not if your lucky and land on one. Then at the halfway point and the end, you'll have a Boss minigame, where you have to defeat an enemy with strange and fun minigames, with different bosses with each stage. Overall, a fun mode with mates, but personally prefer Bowser Party.
Now, if you like the original style Mario Party, you might enjoy amiibo party. It plays like a bare bones version of the boards of the old. Go around the board, collect coins, buy stars, minigames, sounds good. The major problem with this mode is amiibo. This could have easily just been a classic Mario Party mode. Also, it feels weird constantly touching on and off your amiibo from the NFC place to do majority of the board functions in this mode. Also, it feels unnecessary that it needs to wipe Smash Bros data.
I still had fun with the mode, but do not play if you don't want to wipe your Lv. 50 Luigi that taunts after every kill. If you have the money to buy separate amiibos for Mario Party, you'll have fun.
I haven't played all the minigames yet, but there seems to be a wide range of them. If you dislike the ones that revolve around luck, you can thankfully turn them off. And beyond the minigames you play on the board, there's also a "Connect the 4 or more different gems so you don't over the top and lose" game and badminton. Badminton was strangely fun with friends for some reason.
This game is enjoyable, but I wish they had more boards to play on. 5 boards for Mario Party? Even less for Bowser Party? You got access to a larger disk size and you barely put any different boards on it. Also, more Bowser Party minigames would be nice, because I feel it'll get boring with the same minigames over and over again. I also wish they had more characters to play as, or better choices for characters. Spike in this game seems like a weird choice to me and I'm one of those people who TRULY hates the fact that Rosalina is becoming playable in every damn Nintendo game. STOP IT, PLEASE! All she did was own a ship, and sit on her ass and read a book in Super Mario Galaxy. Are there really that many fans of Rosalina?
Overall, worth the money I spent. If you don't have friends that come over to your place often, or REALLY hate the car's return from MP9, don't. If you aren't one of those people, you'll have a blast.

This seems simple enough, but Mario Party 10 takes this familiar game style and turns it on its head a bit by adding Bowser, and calling it….Bowser Party. Very creative. Bowser races around the game too, but instead of trying to win, he is simply trying to wreck everything and make your game less fun. He does this by swapping rules in games, inventing painful Bowser based mini games where your players are smashed, burned and swept away. Sometimes he just steals all your points. My son thoroughly enjoys the Mario Party line of games and was incredibly excited to play as Bowser in this most recent addition to the series. The game is well worth it for the little guy, he loves playing as Bowser and enjoys it even more with extra people playing. The more, the better. The game also supports Amiibo figures to unlock added fun in the game, as well as a special game mode called Amiibo Party. My son loves it, my husband loves it- it's good for everyone here. The amiibo mode is actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be considering how small the board is. It is very reminiscent of the classic mario party 1 gameplay style, and there are enough complexities to this mode that it actually does end up being fairly skill based (you can even select the minigame pack for this to be "no luck"). Negative dice roll blocks, warp pipes, swapping board pieces, powerup tokens, minigames after every round with legitimate reward values all add up to a great time.

If you're wondering about Amiibo usage, it basically opens up a very basic gameboard, with a relatively shallow experience. I did find that part of the game to be an afterthought. Thankfully there was enough content in the game to merit the purchase, and make for a great time thus far.

As an experience with friends, your wife, your girlfriend, your husband, or your boyfriend, it's a blast!

Good family fun! Mario Party 10 is not an amazing game, it is (much like other games in the series) fun when playing with friends or family. Being able to play as the nemesis - Bowser, is definitely the most fun addition. On the negative side, the game is by no means deep and the unlockables are anemic. Great fun as a board game with variety.

I thought this game was going to be absolutely terrible when I saw that they brought back the car from MP9. The gimmicks weren't selling it for me, so I wrote it off as more IP abuse. When a friend brought the game over, I was pleasantly surprised. The main mode "Mario Party" is almost exclusively random and quite dull, but the other game modes is where this game truly shines.

Bowser Party offers a huge shift in strategy and competitive balance that this franchise sorely needed. Sometimes it can seem like the coms are out to get you, but the team-based all-on-one gameplay is refreshing and offers great contrast to the free-for-all that is usually the case for Mario Party.

Amiibo Party (compatible Amiibo required) goes back to MP roots and gives each player a spot on the board in which the goal is to exchange coins for stars. The minigames are more balanced now with 1st being awarded 15 coins, 2nd getting 10, 3rd getting 5, and last getting nothing so there isn't such a huge gap between the person who wins the minigames and everyone else. The game is also quite generous with giving players special dice, so you can actually use strategy in planning your moves rather than it being totally random. You can even unlock more boards and extra stuff for your amiibo through playing - now that's a reason to play! It's a shame that they didn't include more stuff like Boo, a shop, or bonus stars because this could have been the definitive version of Mario Party in my opinion. My only issues with this mode is that you can't choose how long the game lasts, you have to touch the amiibo to the gamepad for literally any action, and the player with the amiibo sometimes gets extra items which gives them an unnecessary and unfair advantage. Trust me though, the fun of this mode outweighs the negatives.

There are also achievements and unlockables which give you a reason to come back and keep playing the game. The extra modes are actually pretty fun and help diversify the game's content. The most unfortunate thing about this game is the relatively small amount of content compared to other Mario Partys. There are only three boards for Bowser Party and the only type of item in Amiibo Party is special dice, which is a shame because those are the best two modes. If Nintendo adds more boards/minigames through an update, this game could be as good (or maybe even better!) than the N64 masterpieces, and that's really saying something.

I was relieved to find the end game random star dump that made the n64 and Game Cube versions feel unfair and the winner arbitrary. There are still end game start rewards but they aren't the game changers they once were, now they feel more like tie barkers.

The mini games are fun and varied, I also liked the two main modes. Bowser party felt sort of unfair for everyone but me playing as Bowser on our first go though, but we got the hang of the mini games and it become much more fun. Classic mode was fun right out the gate. I have amiibo for the amiibo party but I have to admit I don't see using it much, but nice touch.

If you are looking for a party game to include your friends that aren't into Mario Kart or Smash this is perfect. Ideal for larger parties as the games last 15 to 30 min each, you need next to no game experience to get the hang of this and it's easy to put down and pick back up.

As MP9 was my first Mario Party title, the return of the car is not a negative in my book. It keeps the gameplay a bit simpler and not as disjointed as it would if everyone was in different places in a giant board. I have no problem with the mechanic whatsoever.

Mario Party 10 has three main modes: Mario Party, Bowser Party, and amiibo Party. Mario Party mode uses the car gameplay on five boards. Different spaces on the boards will earn you different things. One space might give you a special dice block and another will give you a minigame. The minigames are uniquely designed and I always found myself wanting more. For me, it was a bit rare to get a minigame which is a shame as they are a real highlight, particularly the boss battles.

Bowser Party puts one player on the GamePad as Bowser and the others on the TV. Bowser has to make all the normal players on Team Mario lose all of their hearts so he can win. Despite being very excited for it pre-launch, I was a bit disappointed with the mode. There are very few boards to play on and Bowser only has a measly 10 minigames to play. It feels a bit incomplete.

amiibo Party is more enjoyable than I expected but it's not amazing. Players move separately in this mode, controlling their amiibo (or cardboard cutout) on a plain square board. The layout of the board doesn't bring the mode down, however, because each character's board will have a clever twist implemented into it. For example, on Bowser's board there is a giant Bowser roulette statue that will determine how many bad spaces are created on the board. It's not a super addictive mode but it's not bad by any means.

Overall, Mario Party 10 is great fun but it feels a bit lacking in some aspects. The GamePad is used extensively which is nice but it never quite reaches my expectations or my experience with Mario Party 9 for that matter.

During this time players will take turns as the cart driver and collect mini stars. The player with the most mini starts at the end wins the game.
The game plays similarly to Mario Party 9. where all characters are together as they move across the board instead of separate and on their own. This add simplicity to the game but takes out a lot of fun, skill and competition. Instead of collecting coins, and battling it out in mini games every 4 turns players hope around aimlessly on a path collecting mini stars and other things that chance lets them fall on. In a whole game you might play as little as 4 mini games. And the winner usually turns out to be who ever was lucky enough to get the mini stars rather then who was skilled enough to win or smart enough to generate a winning strategy. This "all together" board movement and lack of actual play (aside from hitting a dice block) makes this game get REALLY boring REALLY fast. Every time you play a level, it goes basically exactly the same as the last time. There is little to enjoy, little to change, and little to come back and play for next time.
A few of the good things is that the game has a side game called "badminton" that is pretty fun and the mini games are fairly fun, even though you almost never play them during the actual play of a "party" game.
The game sticks with the standard Mario style of graphics and does look good on the screen. There isn't any eye popping amazing visuals but it then again this is a standard Mario Party game, and what you get is exactly what you expect which is what makes this perfect.
If you are buying this game for your small children the enjoy then they might like it, if you are like me and a life long Mario fan, looking for a new Mario Party game that will be fun, competitive and long lasting then DO NOT buy this game. Go plug in a N64, Game Cube or Wii and play any of them from Mario Party 1 - 8.
Lets all hope that if they do come in the future with a Mario Party 11, they return to the individual, continual board, turn based length, mini game after every turn style of game that it used to be.

I was laughing loud as I watch others lose their stars and I almost threw my controller when some last minute bad luck cost me the game. This isn't the Mario Party of the past but it is still a good game. Bowser mode is awesome and has a lot of potential. I wish party mode was turned based and not linear but I did enjoy the small level of strategy the game has now. Some of the mini-games have already become my all time favorites. I enjoyed this game a lot already and I know there are many more hours of enjoyment to come. But as a warning, this is a game that shines brightest with local multiplayer because it is meant for local multiplayer. Expand

Why do you do the horrible gimmick YET AGAIN and why do you NEED to have a wii u remote why can't we used the gamepad. The boards are bland, the bosses are so easy and the minigames are in total meh. And the modes are mediocre. But some of the minigames are decent and the graphics do look great. Very, very fun! The graphics are colorful, and the maps and minigames are very detailed. There are plenty of ways to play. You have standard Mario Party mode, where you'll traverse a board in a vehicle and compete to collect the most mini-stars, Bowser Party where Bowser will terrorize players (or one player can be Bowser), and Amiibo Party, where you can play using traditional Mario Party rules (using coins to buy stars) on a square board using compatible amiibo. All 3 modes are very fun, and there are various events that happen in each, which keeps things feeling new and exciting. The minigames are amazing, and most are a blast to play. The music is incredibly catchy as well! I love the song that plays when you come across Dragoneel in Whimsical Waters! There's also a Bonus Game called "Jewel Drop" that's an absolute blast to play! You have to connect four same-colored jewels in order to destroy them and get points, but as time goes on, the difficulty increases! It also has a multiplayer head-to-head mode, which is incredibly fun! The game also makes excellent use of the gamepad. If you put it next to the TV in Mario Party mode (or wherever else you wish to place it within view), you can see Bowser behind a cage, with the dice block numbers keeping him locked in. Whenever a number is rolled, the lock disappears and he's one step closer to being free. This information can only be viewed on the gamepad, and the only other way to know when he'll be free ahead of time is to memorize the numbers that haven't already been rolled (but most of us, surely, would prefer a visual display, which this game provides very well). He'll bash on the cage and roar at times while you're playing, his presence looming overhead as you continue the game. This is very fun and effective, and I really felt like he was trapped inside of the gamepad, outside of the game going on on the TV. Between this, Bowser minigames, and a particularly surprising captured Yellow Toad event on the Chaos Castle board (similar to the caged Bowser event referred to earlier), the gamepad is made excellent use of. In my opinion, it's the most unique and well done usage of the gamepad, in any game, to date. Negatives include the lack of an online multiplayer mode (I personally don't care all that much, but I do feel like it is behind the times a little having a largely multiplayer game that doesn't include it), and having to tap amiibo so frequently on the gamepad in Amiibo Party mode. A lot of people complain about the vehicles and the somewhat linear nature of the boards, but I personally enjoy them. It keeps everyone together, and part of the fun is strategizing on how to ensure that you get the mini-stars on the board, and not the other computers/players, as well as avoiding the mini-ztars (negative mini-stars). I've also heard that Bowser has far too great of an advantage in Bowser Party mode. I don't find this to be the case, as I nearly lost playing as him my first time playing the mode (and I'm a fairly decent video game player)! Another complaint I've heard is that not enough minigames occur on maps. While certainly less occur than in previous Mario Party games (Mario Party 1-8), I haven't found this to be that much of a problem at all. If no minigames occur for a certain amount of time (no one has landed on a vs space), the game has minigame blocks pop up on other spaces randomly after you land on them. You're also guaranteed two boss battle minigames per map. I've also heard that the game is incredibly luck-based. While luck does factor into the game, I would say that it's more about how you respond to that luck, and move forward. You have to strategize to either get ahead or to hold the lead, depending on who got lucky. I highly recommend this game! It's another excellent Mario Party game, and one that I plan to be playing for a very long time! Expand

And coins and stars were removed, because obviously people didn't like those. Oh and minigames only happen when people land on special minigame spaces, so the game feels more random than is even necessary.

The minigames are all very simple and or based on rng. Several minigames involve tracking an object and clicking the right one, except only one person can click it so many minigames are reduced to who can click the thing first when the countdown ends. The winner of boss fights are decided entirely by who lands the killing blow on the boss, which make them very silly.

The person who goes first is decided at random at the start of the game instead of based on dice rolls, which at least felt less random. Other than who goes first, order is decided by wiimote 'port', wo if you play multiple games in a sitting the order is the same every time. Oh and if you roll the wrong number bowser takes half your points. You can no longer set an amount of turns, so no 50 turn mario party extravaganzas. Maps are linear and take approx 30 mins to complete.

This game feels like its incomplete. Nothing about it is satisfying. The only enjoyment I got out of it was laughing with my friends at how much nintendo screwed up everything people liked about it.

I would not only not recommend this to anyone, but this is the first game I have ever returned, and I created an account on metacritic just so that I could write this review.

If you are dead set on getting this game, don't pay more than $30 for it, its really not worth more than that.

The worse part to me was the recycling of games. Instead of having different games for the different modes like free-for-all, and 1-on-1, etc, you sometimes play the same game. I would've loved to play some of the older games in HD, a weak new game, or anything. Instead, we get a change the number of players.

I used to love Mario Party when I was younger playing on the N64 and the Gamecube, and I thought it would be fun to pick up a new one to play with friends and family. Boy was I wrong. This game feels VERY unfinished. Almost as if I am playing a demo for the official game, or a beta build. The game has three modes with very linear outcomes. No changing amount of turns, no setting time limit, no control over what goes on really everything is already set up for you in a poor manner. In all three modes the boards follow a very simple linear path that take no turns, no surprises, it's the same every time you play. Sure there are some fun minigames, but in these modes it is more-of based on plain luck and randomness for you to win, no skill to win minigames needed whatsoever! Not to mention there is a very small amount of minigames and I ended up playing them all and winning at least once within the first couple hours. Sure some of the minigames are fun, but there are not nearly enough of them, and there are quite a few that are way too simple and not fun to play. I definitely feel as though this game is intended very young children, possibly ages 4-7, because this game holds your hand and walks you through every step, all down to the amiibo support where you have to make the figure 'jump' to roll the dice every turn. This game is definitely not intended for anyone over the age of 13+. Unless you are plan on buying this game for your child DO NOT waste your money on this trust me! I am very disappointed in Nintendo for making a game in such poor quality. Not worth mentioning- visuals are okay, and the gameplay seems to be at 60fps steadily. Giving this a 2/10 due to the fact that I might have enjoyed this game when I was 6 years old. Expand

I strongly believe that some of the Mario spin-off games should really die, and the Party series along with the "New" Super Mario Bros series must really be killed.

If Nintendo really wants to sell more Wii Us, they need to offer more quality software like Sm4sh, Bayonettta and the upcoming Zelda and Xenoblade Chronicles X. If we had games of franchises like Star Fox (yes, i know is coming) , F-Zero (sadly it won't happen), Fire Emblem (is getting better, but we won't see a FE for Wii U), Metroid (highly speculated) and Eternal Darkness (perhaps it could happen, perhaps not) ,plus the previous Zelda & Xenoblade: the Wii U without a doubt will be a must-own system.

It is painful to see that the 3DS not only has more games, but they are also better all-around, and this game (Mario Party 10) will hurt Nintendo in attempting to achieve publisher of the year again.

Beautiful When I bought this game, I assumed it would annoy me as much as the 3DS one. Glad to say this is one of the most enjoyable Mario Parties in recent years. The graphics are nice, the sound is usual Nintendo goodness.
If you have 2-4 friends around, you'll have a great time with Bowser Party, the Bowser vs 4 mode where the mighty Koopa King's goal is to destroy all of Mario and friends…

The game continues to give you practice round opportunities, which gives players a better understanding of how to play.

The Kart mode returns, Bowser and vs bowser adds a new twist, the amiibo mode brings it back to the original. Minigames have the arcade and wii remote style of previous entries. Gamepad is also used well with unique controls for Bowser. The Tournament, Bowser tournament and extra modes in the sub menu are also alot of fun.

Definitely a must for the Wii U.

I don't see how sharing 1 car is a bad thing, it gives the game more depth and it's hilarious when you set people up for epic fail.

Only gripe is the game doesn't have enough main boards in my opinion. Playing the same 6 boards may get old after a few parties. I don't like the idea of buying Amiibos for boards...That said, even if you have the same group of friends over every time, this game should last you a good 3 to 4 parties, given that I had only paid $30 for the game I think it's well worth it!

While fun, what Mario Party 10 suffers most is the lack of content. there are 3 modes you can play with AI controlled members or the amiibo game board (i forgot the 3rd one) and while Mario Party 10 brings new fun into the table, it certainly isn't worth 60 bucks but for 30 or 20 i would recommend it if you want something to play with your friends

I could play with friends and it would be entertaining. Problem with this is that this mode only has 3 boards and it gets boring after a bit. The mario party mode is boring and that is because of the car. The car does NOT go well with this mode.... They should look back at mario party 8 instead of mario party 9. The car doesn't work in my opinion. Then the mini games. I personally like the mini games. It was much better then 8 or 9's but they do lack variety in some minigame modes (like 1v3, 2v2 and the 4vboss)

but overall I'm not completely disappointed it wasn't a franchise killer unlike mario party 9. I think nintendo has a chance to make a mario party we can all love. But nintendo is also running out of time and ideas.... so only time can tell if the next installment of mario party will be a end or a successor.

Gloriously colorful graphics, beloved characters, simple formula, astonishing Nintendo Sound Delight, quite a lot of really fun minigames... Really, what is here not to love?

Quite a few things, sadly. See, I am a newcomer to the series. I know that earlier installment of this game had a different core of a mechanic, in which each player had its own pawn to move around the board, strengthening the sense of competition. You could easily see who was triumphing and who was falling behind. And therefore, I understand Nintendo decision to change it and drop all players into a single vehicle, so all of the players progress the same way and the victory is mostly decided on how well they are handling themselves in the minigames and of course on a stroke of luck. Less frustration, right? And you know what? It works! Thanks to this change in the core mechanic all players are always engaged 100%, because no one have a feeling that they are horribly behind others with no visible chance at redemption and victory.

And that is the point in which Bowser Party mode fails to some degree. I /love/ the idea of this mode. Gosh, it's pretty darn brilliant! A whole team of friends fighting not against computer, not between themselves, but against another living player who not only try to outwit them in various mischievous ways on the board but also will test his buddies mettle in brutally delightful minigames of carnage, where as Bowser we aim to eliminate other players swiftly. It sounds, looks and at first plays beautifully, it looks like so much fun!

And it is! Sometimes, that is... The biggest failing in Bowser Party is how uneven the games can be. We play one time, and it's amazing - lots of tension, narrow escapes, reviving buddies by winning hearts, minigames pretty much every round... It was a total blast! But then we play another game, and it's the Most Boring Thing in the Universe. Bowser tosses like a pansy and can barely catch the party once or twice in the course of whole game... Basically turning the whole experience into tossing a dice and moving through the board. Thrilling? i don't think so.

The elimination also kills the fun, it's a usual problem with the 'you are out' mechanic. It's a party game, right? I and /all of my buddies/ wants to have fun, right? So how can they have fun when I basically out them off the game? I had a game once when 3 out of 4 players were eliminated halfway through the map and until the very end of the game they never jumped in... And so 3 people were just watching 2 others plays. Riveting.

And to add another minus to the list above... /THREE/ boards? THREE? Huh... The boards are lovely, both in look and design, and they offer quite a bit of fun, but since they are always adamantly the same, the replayability of them dwindles rapidly away. Shame!

Why 7 then out of 10? 7 is quite a high grade, it means "it's good, It's fun, but it is flawed enough to not be considered great in any way". And that's MP10 for me... It's beautiful. It sound amazing. It /offers quite a few sweet thrills/ and you will have fun with it. But it lacks meat on the bone, so to speak, and on occasion it will let you down...

I recall one Party Mode game where I won all the minigames, yet I still lost due to random chance working against me. In addition, the gameplay from Mario Party 9 where all players move around together in a vehicle returns, which in my case, is a negative point, as I preferred the individual movement from other Mario Party games. However, unlike in Mario Party 9, the individual movement is still present, although to a limited capacity, as it is only accessible through amiibo Party mode, which, as the name suggests, requires a compatible amiibo figure to play. On top of that, the amiibo Party boards are quite linear, which is disappointing, considering that more money needs to be spent to purchase an amiibo. Regardless of the negatives, Mario Party 10 has positive aspects, such as the minigames being as fun as ever, especially the new Bowser Party minigames, which I had a blast playing. Overall, Mario Party 10 is a good game; not excellent nor horrible, just good. Expand

Once you catch up to them, you're all force to play a Bowser minigame. This minigames focused on getting rid of all the hearts from all of the players. Once that player run out of hearts, he or she is out of the game, unless the remaining players managed to restore their hearts. I also like the addition of Rosalina & Spike to the mix. Rosalina is my favorite character, and Spike is a interesting choice. Finally, the minigames are pretty fun, too.

But this game does have some flaws. One of my bigger problems in the return of the vehicle gameplay from Mario Party 9. It wasn't well received in that game, and it doesn't do well in this game. It takes away a lot of the fun stuff the old format had. Another thing is the lack of content. There aren't many modes, boards, and I which there were more things to unlock. The minigames, though fun, also had some things lacking. I'm specifically talking about 2-vs-2 and 1-vs-2/3 minigames. I way kinda disappointed that there were only 10 minigames in both of those category.

This game does support amiibos. Taping an amiibo from the Mario series will unlock amiibo mode, where a board based on the character you placed can be played on. Those amiibos are: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Wario, Rosalina, Donkey Kong, & Bowser. Any other amiibos allows you to play scratch cards to win Mario Party Points, which are used to unlock stuff.
The amiibo mode used the old gameplay from Mario Party 1-8. Where you collect coins and try to get as many stars as possible. While I like that they did return the old gameplay, I don't understand while it's only in amiibo mode. Also, the boards are particularly the same, just with different stuff add on it.

Overall, Mario Party 10 is mostly fun when you're playing with friends. Bowser Party is a blast, and the minigames are fun, but the lack of content can turn you off. A game for family fun, or if you're a fan of the Mario Party series.

“Mario Party 10” is a party-based game where you can play with friends or cons (computers) that try to beat you in minigames and in party mode. There are three different game modes to play from and they are Mario Party, Bowser Party, or Amiibo Party. It is kind of like you are living game pieces playing on a giant game board where the enemy is always Bowser, Baby Bowser, or some other miniboss. The game was published by Nintendo and released on March 12, 2015. The game was developed by Nd Cube and released for the Wii U starting at a price of $49.99.

When I first discovered this game I was really happy to see another “Mario Party” game had come out. I loved the last game, “Mario Party 9” that I knew that I would enjoy the newest release very much. So I asked for the at Christmas during 2015, but unfortunately, I didn’t get the game until the next Christmas where I did get it and I was so happy! So, what I did on that Christmas morning was, I played the game hoping that it would be great because since I loved to play the last release a lot. I was kind of disappointed to see the final product because I just didn’t get that feeling of excitement while I was playing.

People that I would recommend this game, are people that just like to have a party any date and time. I would not recommend this game to people who are very social and actually go out and eat with friends and family unless that person would happen to be a gamer. “Mario Party 10” is rated “E” for everyone of all ages. My final word about this game is the word “ok.”

My overall experience with the game is surprisingly not as exciting as I thought it would be. The minigames are probably the best part of the whole game which is not a very good thing because the main picture is supposed to be all about the party mode. Graphics are pretty good like most Nintendo-published games, as well as the controls, they’re pretty easy to learn and get the hang of quickly. I definitely did enjoy playing this game for the most part because of the feature of being able to select any minigame when not in party mode.

This has got to be the most creatively bankrupt Mario game ever. This game represents the apex of everything wrong with Mario Party and it took some years just to re-fix it again. Looking back, this was truly a dark time for Mario Party. Everything about this game is simply soulless and does nothing to make it good. Sure it's technically an ok game but I know they could've done better. This has got to be the most creatively bankrupt Mario game ever. Stay For Bowser
The Mario Party part is bland as hell, But the Bowser parts are fun.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I actually like this game.
The Mario Party mode still has the cars again, but the boards and minigames are very fun.
The Bowser Party mode is unbalanced towards both sides (Team Mario gets a lot of lives and moves while Team Bowser is overpowered in the minigames), but it's still a lot of fun imo.
The Amiibo Party mode might just have squares for boards, which sounds disappointing, but I like the spaces, the gameplay of playing a minigame every round, and the special features of specific boards.
I like this game a lot. While I don't love it as much as Mario Party 5-7, I still have fun.

After Mario Party 9, I was expecting Mario Party 10 to be a complete failure, but I was wrong! Although it doesn't return to the classic Mario Party gameplay, it's still extremely fun to play. Although there aren't many boards to play, the ones that do exist are fun, unexpected, and quite long. Mario Party 10 definitely isn't the worst Mario Party, but at the same time isn't the best. Nintendo needs to go back to the classic gameplay so we cal all relive our childhood memories. If you have some spare money and some friends to play with, I do suggest you give this game a shot. And trust me, it's a lot better with friends! Expand

Too skill-less for adults, too random for kids, Mario Party hangs on its largely uninspired minigames. [May 2015, p.79]
