    Angry Birds Trilogy is a new collection for the Wii U featuring the first three games in the series; Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons andAngry Birds Trilogy is a new collection for the Wii U featuring the first three games in the series; Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio but does not include the more recent titles like Angry Birds Star Wars and Angry Birds Space.

    This game is really a product with two interesting and polarizing aspects to it.

    The first is that these three Angry Birds games have sold millions of copies on other devices and have spawned toys, animated shorts and merchandise that fans scoop up. The games are all super addictive and as someone who has beaten all three games on my iPhone, although sometimes with only one or two stars, I can attest to their lasting appeal. The games traslate very well to the Wii U system with the HD visuals which look good on my TV as well as on the Gamepad screen.

    You can use the Gamepads screen to play the games with the touch screen, use the analog stick and buttons to play or use the Wii Remote, the last of which is not how I would suggest playing. The game supports off-TV play and has online leader boards so you can challenge the world with your bird slinging skills and overall the game looks and plays great and does nothing to turn off fans of the game.

    The second aspect is something that has been brought up with every mention of the game and that is the $50 price tag on it. Considering that the games are a few years old and they are often priced at a couple dollars or even free it seems to many like highway robbery that Activision is charging that amount for the game. While I do agree that the price tag is too high, a thirty dollar tag would have been a better one for me, the price comparisons are a little off. Those free and super cheap versions use in-app purchases to unlock content that the Wii U version does not so they are not quite as cheap as they may appear.

    I will not defend their pricing structure but what needs to be remembered is that when Activision released the Trilogy for the 3DS it became the sixth best-selling 3rd party title on the system. Half a million copies at $30 each for a repackaged collection is a nice profit for them and I can bet that they will sell enough of this one to make it worth their time.

    So, what we have is a classic mobile game that is that is overpriced. The game itself is good with nice controls tons of levels to explore and will take players dozens of hours to beat everything so what's the verdict? If you know someone that has never played any of the games or if you want to get your kids off of your new iPhone then you may get your moneys worth. If this had been a bargain priced title it would have been a no-brainer so I would suggest you hold off until it drops down into the twenty dollar price range and that will resolve the main issue people have with the game.    … Full Review »
