Oct 18, 2018While the arena segments and shooting remind me of arcade classics like Smash TV or Robotron, I have never played a game like that with such heartfelt characters and story, pieces that didn’t just feel like an afterthought. I won’t go so far as to say Zarvot has the wit and soul of a poet, but the writing gives the game life, and it’s a title that will stand out this year as having the types of genuinely touching moments we don’t often see in video games. I can’t give anymore, so check out Zarvot and fall in love with these cubes.

Nov 3, 2018Zarvot is definitely a fun time and if you don’t get it, you’re probably a square (not a cube). It has loads of charm and the gameplay doesn’t get old.

Nov 7, 2018Whether you're working through the single player story mode, challenging the immediately gratifying arcade mode, or battling a few friends in versus mode, Zarvot offers awesome shooting gameplay and an incredible amount of content.
-
Oct 22, 2018Zarvot offers the kind of tight arcade-shooter action that lends itself well to epic local competitive scraps; what we have here is a charming, eclectic package that goes all-out to appeal to both solo and social players. It's perhaps a little too scattershot in its mixture of styles and tones, and not all of its ideas hit the target, but there's a whole lot of heart and humour to Snowhydra's little box of tricks, and that goes a long way.
-
Nov 25, 2018Fun but modest arcade shooter that is one of the hidden surprises on the eShop.
-
Nov 14, 2018Its commitment to manic, arcade shooting is one of its biggest strengths, but this unfortunately highlights the game’s weaker elements, namely the platforming. The narrative is ultimately the stand out feature here, as the nuanced character writing highlights the surprisingly profound overarching narrative in a way that keeps players engaged.
-
Oct 22, 2018The game’s multiplayer mode, each player using one Joy-Con, is the game’s prime redeeming feature and is a heck of a lot of fun in its own right. But weighed down by a middling-at-best single player mode, no matter how quirky it attempts to be, Zarvot’s trying, polyhedral antics don’t justify the price of admission.
