    Me enamore el juego desde el minuto 1. Es excelente en TODOS sus aspectos.
    La historia es el gran punto fuerte, es mejor que cualquier anime que haya visto en mi vida y da esa misma sensación, avanzas junto a los personajes y aprendes muchisimo sobre ellos y sobre como sienten y piensan, Los enemigos son completísimos a nivel emocional y no sabes hasta el último instante como va a cambiar    Me enamore el juego desde el minuto 1.     El gameplay y su curva de aprendizaje es fantástico, cada vez que jugás vas aprendiendo a hacerlo mejor, hasta trasformarte en experto.
    La dificultad está muy bien también, no es un juego que se vaya abriendo solo, hay que meterle ganas y eso se agradece.
    A nivel visual es hermosos.
    Todo te enamora de este juego, TODO. Uno de los mejores que he jugado en mi vida y no exagero.    … Expand

    Absolutely love the series and love the combat. Characters are easy to relate too and get invested in and the story is epic and great. It’s a long game at least 80-100 hours if you wanna complete everything so you will get your moneys worth with this game

    This is the perfect JRPG. Fantastic story with twists and turns, endearing characters that are all useful, music is still wonderful to this day, and combat is involved and very rewarding. Side quests all feel the same, but other than that it is now easier than ever to complete side quests. If you have never played Xenoblade Chronicles then you owe it to yourself to finally play it.

    Xenoblade Chronicles is a life changing experience of a game that really defines what an rpg can be. That may be a bit of an exaggeration but the story and characters are all written so amazingly. There's so much content, the music, graphics and combat are all phenomenal. There's a lot of locations to visit and they're all fun to explore. There's so much side content. Only small gripes are it is very long, though that can be a positive, as well as it can get grindy at times and the side quests don't give a ton of XP unless you start the large branches early. The colony building is cool, and again the plot and characters are just phenomenal. Another gripe is that there are some quests/areas that are locked away near the end making it impossible to 100% if you didn't do everything there which does hurt a game like this. Those are annoying, but the game is still so good it's a 10/10. Oh and futures connected is cool. The definition of a must play for JRPG fans.… Expand

    That is a basic take away of what this game is compared to the original, I had a few problems with the original despite it being my favourite game of all time... but damn, this game takes the cake.     This game is PERFECTION to me, and to many others it seems. I don't think it's humanly possible to describe the perfection of this game in only 5000 characters. But i'll go over all the aspects I can.
    Firstly:
    Story: I won't spoil this, even in this review I can't, just play it for yourself, it's honestly one of the greatest stories in a video game to date.
    Music: Almost every single song in this soundtrack is an amazing thing to hear, i love it so much... it's perfect at setting the mood in every location you go to, the battle music is always great and it's hard to describe what feeling the music of this game gives you.
    Characters: Every character in this game has a purpose, from the nerdy but brave Shulk, the heroic and downright bad-ass Dunban, to the lovable goofball that is Riki, each character has some sort of story, even the ones that are not in the main cast, each Side-quest has a great feeling to it, adding onto the world... oh yeah, side-quests!
    Side-quests: They managed to fix the bad side-quest system with the first game... My only problem with it. and it's great now, you can finally track the locations of enemies and items for side-quests instead of being lucky with the item orbs you get, you can finally complete each and every side-quest without it feeling like a drag which is just amazing to me.
    (Honestly, i might be able to finish this in less that 5k words because the story is such a big part of it, and i don't want to spoil any of it)
    Well, in short:
    Play this game, if you like RPGS or you are unsure on them, play this.

    This is my first time playing a Xenoblade game and I loved it! Awesome gameplay, awesome story, awesome music, I loved the battle system. It is addictive. In general this is an AWESOME RPG.

    I am currently „backtracking“ various RPGs on Switch that I missed first time they were around. Just recently, I have played Y‘s 8, Dragon Quest 11, Nino Kuni and this one for the very first time. All in all Xenobalde Chronicles is a great game, I just did not enjoy it as much as the others in my list above.

All in all Xenobalde Chronicles is a great game, I just did not enjoy it as much as the others in my list above.

    Some of the main reasons might be:
    It took me about 60+ hrs to get to the final 15% of the main story. Until that point, I have never died once, did lot´s of the side missions, had about level 65 and all of the sudden started to have no chance against bigger bosses. To be honest, through the entire game I was not going „full strategy“ on enemies, I was mainly using what worked last time, so I was a little surprised that the game obviously either wanted me to grind to higher levels (takes a lot of time here if you don‘t want to watch „Tutorials“) or learn a proper fighting technique (which is hard at the end of a game where the game gave you positive feedback on your fighting for the first 60 hrs). Luckily there is „Casual Mode“, so I switched to this, let´s say for the final 10%. I don‘t think that you miss out something playing that.

    I also did not feel the fun in changing my party throughout the game and learn how to play new characters. I like to stay with my party and upgrade it as good as possible. If you are someone who is up for switching and learning different characters, this is definitely the game for you.

    Xenoblade is always very good, great story, never boring and works great to be played in shorter „chunks“ of playtime (20-30min sessions). I simply did not enjoy it as much as other RPGs recently (re)released on the Switch.    … Expand

    Great video game, definitely worth playing. The story involves and is full of twists and turns. The combat system sometimes shows its weaknesses, but it is still a child of the Wii era.

    I started playing the second one first and right off the bat the English voice-overs are weird it just sounds off so then I done a quick google and from what I read from the fan base, you have one side of them saying play it in Japanese with the English subtitles there is no other way to play.

    I switched out between the two to see which I perfected and I decided to just stick it out with the English dubbed and it’s one of them ones where it kind of grows on you like the voice-overs and the way they say certain words at first YES it is odd but it's kinda adds charm to it it’s really strange to try and explain it and on the bonus side it saves you having to read all the time.

    I’m only on chapter 11 or 12 and I’m like 130+ but I’m one of the people who has to do everything I can in an area before I move on so that’s why my hours are what they are so high.
    But don't let the hours put off because there all side quests and you don't have to do them.

    And Lastly I hope you enjoy the game like I am and the game has so much charm it’s amazing!    … Expand

    if you have any taste for JRPGs. It combines the conveniences and gameplay seen in Western games with a strong story and an imaginative world. If you need to just be absorbed in a world for a long time, it's that and so much more!

    I haven't played the original since I did not have the Wii, but thank the developers and thanks that the Switch is a port machine. Having to play one of the biggest JRPG that was localized in the U.S. and finally played and finish the main story was satisfying. And this is the first JRPG that I poured time and effort and finished the game.     Uh, 10? Literally the best switch, 2nd best game ever made (after the OG FF7 of course.) I can't understand why the **** it's not an 11. Such an amazing game, and the characters look so cool.

    Legitimately one of the best games I’ve ever played. I have over two hundred hours and have played it three times through. I went into this thinking it would be like the second one, but it was way different. A word of advice: 1 and 2 are both good games, but if you go into this one expecting it to be like the second, you will be let down.

    The best game I have ever played by far. The story always kept me intrested and managed to suprise me many times.

    My only complaint is that the game throws way too many side quests at you and most of them are filler. But it doesnt take away from how absolutley amazing the story and world is.

    The gameplay is really fun for me. It feels so good to discover the right tactics, correct positioning, the right accessories/gems to wear, the most sound composition for a certain boss, etc. It's just so technical, and I liked it very much. Some battles were very easy because I over-levelled after doing so many side-quests but the challenging ones don't fail to surprise and leave me thinking of ways to be victorious.

    The story is mind-blowing, original, and successfully glues together all of its reasons of being with logic. It's like reading a good book and you just can't put it down.

    The music is very good as well. When laid out together, they create a unique experience that is Xenoblade Chronicles the same way final fantasy further built its worlds through memorable melodies.

    The world building is phenomenal; it is very unusual, but pulled off exquisitely. The places were laden with beauty and care. The details the developers put into the world are spot on.

    I loved the characters because they were "alive", logical, and will make the player really give a damn with what they want to achieve. They were unpredictable, and mostly outside the clichés of anime characters. The relationships between the protagonists are so wholesome that I often find myself smiling throughout cutscenes after cutscenes where they interact with one another. I also often found myself surprised with how events went for them.

    Don't hesitate. Buy it, play it, and be amazed.    … Expand

    This game has a lot of good things, first the world is pretty big and amazing to explore, music is 10/10 and the characters are nice. The story is a bit confusing until the very end but works well, the combat is complex and challenging. Overall a nice experience and a very good RPG for those who love the genre.

    Wow! A masterpiece giant between masterpiece games! Love a million times this game! Everything is perfect and memorable. One the best games ever!! Did every quest possible, and explored everything! Worth every second of gameplay (80 hours plus) , enjoyed everything!

    Easily my favorite RPG of all time and just one of my favorites in general. The combat's fun, the characters (for the most part) are interesting, and the story is amazing. Also, it's not super grindy like some RPGs, thanks to it's many side quests.     Really lovely game. From the quality of the port, I can see how much love and care the devs put into this. Enhanced music is great, the battle system is fascinating, and some of the QoL features are lifesavers (just like Reyn). I would've preferred if they hid more secrets in the overworld, but this complaint is trivial. I don't know what much else to say. It's great.

    This was my first experience with the vast universe of Xenoblade Chronicles, and it was an absolute joy through and through. The memorable cast of characters, remarkably creative world, complex combat system and very well-written story have easily pushed this to my favorite game of all time.

I wish they spent more time fleshing out juju as most of the game is spent on plot devices like the mechon and the monado. Juju is such a chad he went to fight the mechon with just his bare hands and a buggy. The only improvement in defenitive editionThis game would be the worst thing ever if juju was not in the game, unfortunately juju is not playable however he is essential to the lore. I wish they spent more time fleshing out juju as most of the game is spent on plot devices like the mechon and the monado.     At last I was able to get hold of the game, I had it on wii and for this platform it was a graphic marvel, the switch version has better graphics but it is not a marvel for the console in my opinion they could do more in this section ...

    This version takes what was already a great game, and improves the graphics while adding welcome quality of life improvements, that makes scrolling through the menus and customizing your setup much more comfortable and quicker. Furthermore, a new epilogue story is added that expands on the story of a few other characters.     Voice acting, Story, Characters, Art style. All fantastic.

    I couldn’t even consider giving this game anything below a 10. If you have not played this game yet. Please do, you won’t regret it.

    This is a very beautiful videogame, the environments, the areas you can explore, and all the different biomes are genuinely breathtaking. Exploring feels nice, there are random errands and side quests scattered through the world, it's almost something like an Open World.

    I liked the characters, it's rare for a JRPG to have many characters and make them all likeable, but Xenoblade Chronicles managed to do that and I didn't expect it.
    Every character plays differently, and there's a lot of customization, like changing outfits or even weapons, swapping and leveling up abilities, and progressing the skill-tree.

    As for the combat, in the beginning it felt fresh but it did get quite repetitive later on, I do like it but it's not anything special, it's enjoyable for the most part and there's some depth to it, and some cool mechanics.

    Also the music is great, the soundtrack is memorable and it's varied with beautiful overworld exploration songs and some pretty iconic battle themes.

    This is genuinely a very solid game, it reminded me of some old school JRPGs, and for its time it was probably one of the biggest. When I started playing it, I wasn't really blown away, the pacing is slow and it takes a while for the story to pick up, but the last few chapters are honestly impressive, by the end it really got better and better, there are so many plot twists and interesting ideas, and the pay-off is worth it.

    Final Rating: "Amazing" ~ 9/10.    … Expand

    Xenoblade DE is absolutely amazing. The story is top notch, and has epic, emotional, and intense parts to it. The worlds look absolutely stunning, and the revamped art style from the Wii version is beautiful as well. The characters all go through meaningful events and changes, and none of them feel underdeveloped. The gameplay and combat is super fun and unique as well, with the visionXenoblade DE is absolutely amazing. The story is top notch, and has epic, emotional, and intense parts to it. The characters are phenomenal, the combat is a refreshing take on JRPG combat, the music is lovely in areas that are pretty and intense during moments of confrontation, the story will tug on your heartstrings by appealing to every human emotion you have. There are problems with this game sure, but upon completion this instantly became one of my favorite games of all time.

The game does have flaws though, half the quests are basic "kill x monsters" or "fetch x items" quests, which are boring and pad out the game unnecessarily. The quest tracking system is bad and you can easily get lost. The autorun system is not great and it's really frustrating how limited you are in increasing your walking speed. Despite these flaws, I'd still say this is a top quality game on the switch and if you like longer RPGs there is no reason not to buy. I will say though, that the future connected portion of the game is disappointingly shallow and needed much more work than it got. There are some fun moments there, but it simply does not deliver on the expectations a premise like it provides.

    I only started playing this game to see the story and to join the fans of the second part. Halfway through the game I was bored. It wasn't very interesting to me. The combat is good, but somehow without much excitement. But from the midgame I fell in love with, started looking under every rock and exploring every cave. The story impressed me.

The music is banging, the combat feels great and fluid, and the story is a fantastic adventure with a balance of humor and seriousness without feeling too anime like 2. Future Connected is a great add-on to the dish that closes Melia's arc while also looking towards the future of the series. They didn't need to put it in, but they did and even brought the cut Bionis' Shoulder as a bonus. 9/10 better then sex and the remastered music is a god send with an option to change back to the original. It is THE gold standard on how to do a remaster right and isn't a garbage rerelease that spits on the quality and legacy of the original.… Expand

    Great game! I never played the original Wii release or the 3DS release, but I hear that XCDE has all of the requested QoL improvements, and I found the playing to be very smooth and intuitive. I think that this story was overall more solid than XC2; however, I prefer the combat and characters in XC2 over XCDE.

    The developer didn't just overhaul the interface in combat, but every single menu, screen or function, the collection screen, empathic dialogues and especially the affinity chart, is now much clearer.

    I finally understand the hype and why the fans pressured Nintendo to release this game in the west on the Wii back in the day. Awesome world-building, great relatable characters, jaw-dropping visuals, a beautiful soundtrack, and excellent gameplay. The definitive edition on the switch is the best version of this game.

O cara mata um monte de gente, um verdadeiro genocida, mas fica aquela coisa irreal de "protagonista herói", que o vilão mata, mata, e mata, ele derrota o vilão, mas no final deixa ele ir embora porque tem um coração santo, e o cara volta a matar, você derrota ele de novo, e o ciclo recomeça. As the original, the game has an amazing story and a great soundtrack. It can get very grindy sometimes, but this versions has some quality of life upgrades that make the gaming experience better.

The voice acting can be a bit hard at times, if you're a fan of everyone having an English Accent (Dragon Quest, looking at you) then you'll have no problem with this.

Players control a party of characters, each with their own unique abilities, and engage in battles with a mix of standard attacks and special abilities called "Arts." Players can be caught out in areas, and dismantled very quickly, particularly towards the end of the game.

The game's slow pacing can be attributed to lengthy exposition, extensive dialogue, and sidequests that quite simply, are boring fetch quests. While this allows for ample exploration and character development, it may test the patience of some players, especially those accustomed to faster-paced RPGs. However, for those who appreciate a more deliberate and methodical approach to storytelling, the pacing can enhance the immersion and world-building aspects.

    Audio/Soundtrack [8/10] The remastered soundtrack in Xenoblade Chronicles - Definitive Edition is an absolute treat for the ears. The only thing stopping this game from producing a higher number on the scale for this section is, the lack of an OST in terms of tracks. Yes each area has 2 accompanying tracks, and they're all fantastic. Outside of this I can only really recall maybe 3 or 4 different tracks (2 being combat). Again, the quality of these tracks may be great, but I can't help but think they're could've been a bit more. Still, it gets an 8/10 which is a ode to how good the tracks in the game are.

    Additional Content [6/10]: The Definitive Edition introduces a new epilogue called "Future Connected" that provides additional story content for fans of the original game. This standalone adventure allows players to explore a new area and follow the story of Melia and her companions. While it adds a welcome extension to the narrative, it feels somewhat disconnected from the main game. The integration of this additional content could have been smoother to create a more seamless transition between the main story and the epilogue.

    Overall, Xenoblade Chronicles - Definitive Edition is a remarkable RPG that successfully enhances an already fantastic game. With its great visuals, captivating story, and decent quality of voice acting, it offers an immersive and memorable experience.     There are many times where Action RPGs are well worth their near-sixty-hour tenure, whether through gameplay or storytelling. Luckily, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition offers a balance of both while revamping the graphical quality of a Wii game. As of writing this review, Xenoblade has three mainline titles and one spinoff title, with each iteration offering varying levels of success, gameplay, and stories. With Xenoblade Chronicles, players start in Colony 9, a town located on Bionis. Shulk, Reyn, and Fiora are good friends with one another, with Dunban offering the trio guidance, especially since he’s Fiora’s brother. Dunban also wielded the Monado, a mythical sword created by Zanza to combat the raging hatred towards Bionis and its people by the Mechons from Mechonis.

    The power struggle persists throughout Shulk and his party’s adventure, kickstarted by Shulk seeking revenge for Fiora’s death at the hands of Metal Face. The game perfectly broadens the scope of what’s at stake during Shulk’s journey by adding Sharla, a medic from Colony 6 in search of her brother, Melia, the daughter of the High Entia Emperor, and Riki, the chosen legendary Heropon of Frontier Village. Together, the party deals with emotional highs and lows. Those emotions reach the player in inspiring ways thanks to each character’s goals and backgrounds, which are given great detail due to the main storyline and heart-to-heart exchanges. Players notice the party dynamic grow and strengthen, ultimately expressed through their compassion and comradery.

    The gameplay also adds depth to the already stunning storyline. Players travel around Bionis and Mechonis, revealing the game’s massive world derived from a low-powered console in 2010. Biome diversity and collectibles only heighten the experience, giving way to often unique enemies to fight in the open world. The combat isn’t my thing, but the game offers a few different modes depending on the player’s skill behind a controller. Combining two or more characters’ move sets is satisfying, especially when players divvy high amounts of damage to enemies. The game also lets players rejoin boss battles if their party members perish before defeating them, making boss battles better streamlined than many other titles.

    Unfortunately, Xenoblade Chronicles includes a few imperfections. While the story remains conventional for most of the playthrough, the endgame route is unexpected. Regardless of if it’s a player’s first Action RPG, the game’s finale is a bit extreme but is still entertaining to experience. With it being an Action RPG, it also comes with a 60-hour playtime. It will take players a while to finish the game before realizing Definitive Edition includes a postgame, adding more hours to the title. However, the game maintains satisfaction despite its playtime, becoming a title for those wanting an introduction to the Action RPG genre. This game is not perfect, but it is very close to it, and I am glad I got to join Shulk and his friends on such an awe-inspiring journey.    … Expand

It's incredible how good this game is. This is how an adventure feels. It is also the first jrpg I recommend the english voice cast over the japanese one. I had previously tried playing the original XC on the Wii and Nintendo 3DS, but found the controls of the former and the visuals of the latter to be too off-putting.

    XC:DE fixes all the flaws of the first two versions and then goes a thousand miles further, making for an outstanding and unforgettable experience. The battle system takes some getting used to, but after getting past that initial hurdle, I found myself quickly enamored with the characters and their plights. The voice acting is generally good, though repetitive in battles, and the story wound up being one of my favorites in any game I've ever played.

    I can't recommend this game enough for RPG fans. It looks great, plays great, and packs some emotional wallops along with a few twists in the plot. The music is excellent and I still listen to the soundtrack from time to time.

    Having never finished the original on Wii, I was determined to beat it when I got my Switch and it did not disappoint! Such an amazing story and game, the visuals are stunning! Only a few things kept it from that 10 rating but that's just nit picking it is a MUST play

    Absolute masterpiece. Seeing the characters I'm more of an anime style is really fitting. And the soundtrack is top tier. Mostly everything about this game is on point. Only knock I really have is the combat menu. Though you can up you combat the way that you like, picking moves can sometimes be a pain in the butt, especially when the action picks up.

    It's very hard for me to give any game a perfect 10/10, simply because there will always be flaws, but the good in this game is simply too good to deserve anything less.

    The Definitive Edition is a improvement over the original. The graphics have been completely overhauled, and the game now looks absolutely stunning. The framerate is also much smoother, making the combat feel even more fluid.

    Xenoblade Chronicles is still one of the best games of the genre, which 10 years later continues to delight and surprise with a unique world, luxurious epic landscapes, an incredible sense of freedom, beautiful music and a really interesting story. Of course, it is a pity that the Definitive Edition has a technical limitation in terms of resolution, which does not allow the image to really shine in 2020, but otherwise it is a chic project that every fan of the genre of adventure and Japanese role-playing games should play.

    It’s hard to believe this is a game that released in 2012 and not more recently. Though there are some dated and heavy systems, the atmosphere and a combat system that gives freedom and depth make Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition an RPG for the ages.
