Terrible on switch. I wish I could get my money back but, since I can't I made an account to warn other people. There's a delay when steering, its too touchy it's basically unplayable. Save your money.

I strongly think this game deserves more attention and I’m glad Kylotonn made this port.
I’ve put quite a lot time on WRC 8, and though both games are not that different from each other, I do think that WRC 9 is worth a purchase even if you own the previous installment. Main reasons for me are :

I’ve put quite a lot time on WRC 8, and though both games are not that different from each other, I do think that WRC 9 is worth a purchase even if you own the previous installment. Main reasons for me are :
    - All the glitches that I would personally be irritated by, were fixed. Such as the erratic “jump” the car was making before it would get to the start line, or some “missing text” glitch on the reports you got after an event, or those horrendous water splashes showing up before the car would actually touch the water, or in my case being stuck in WRC 2 forever despite performing all the recommended actions and being WRC2 champ multiple times (heard that it was a bug very early on). The most important one is that the Argentina stages are now all playable with a perfectly constant 30 fps.
    - There is now depth of field in WRC 9. This might not seem like a big deal, but during replays it is like night and day with respect to the overall looks of the game. Especially on Switch where the surroundings are far from being detailed, with low resolution, etc. It really adds a lot to the aesthetics, by “hiding” some of the not-so-pretty assets.
    - A photo mode!!!! I just love photo mode in videogames. This one is pretty nice, all the features you’d expect are there. You even have a showcase mode from the main menu, where you can select the car, weather, etc. and use photo mode. I attached a couple screenshots so you can get an idea of what’s possible.
    - Some classic cars are available, such as the Corolla (available through DLC), Xsara, and Focus. The Corolla is one of my favorite WRC cars ever, so very happy with that!!!
    - I might be wrong on this one, but I think lighting has been improved.

So if you add all that to an already very good game, you simply get the ultimate WRC experience, the best rally game ever released on a handheld, period. Lots of features, topnotch gameplay, nice presentation for the Switch, it’s a 9/10 for me. Only complaint is how some shadows are handled on some stages, as they drawn right in front of the car, literally. While I don’t find it too distracting, if they could fix it that would be awesome.

This game is amazing! I don't care if it looks much better on PS5 or X-Box because I don't own any of these systems and I accept that the Switch is not as powerful as these consoles! There is a massive amount of campaign and training content here, and a daily challenge with lots of other active players to compete against on the leaderboard. When it goes on sale at 90% off this game is a 'must buy' for any rally enthusiast! Expand

This is rather mediocre port that looks and plays like Gamecube game. So do not expect it to compete with anything you got on PS4 or Xbone on your 4K telly.
But, as a portable handheld game, it works well, and is quite entertaining. On small screen, the visuals do not look quite as ugly, and once you adjust the controls and learn how to drive, you can have quite a lot of fun with this, on

On small screen, the visuals do not look quite as ugly, and once you adjust the controls and learn how to drive, you can have quite a lot of fun with this, on portable form. And given the lack of decent racers on Switch, that is welcome indeed.
So, worth buying if you want to play some portable racing on the go. Not, if you want to play it on big screen.

Hi, i own the previous Wrc 8 so.. With this version of the game the handling and the weight of the car improve a Lot and its exactly what ive hoped for but... Plus i notice that with the Citroen C3 (Wrc2) The gear ration got problems of loading as well... Make it the game very frustrating - I Love anyways this 9TH installation from KT racing but i highly suggest to try and go for the Console Version just for the fact cause the Switch version, despite the handling improvements, it got worst on the stability of the game and some other drammatic errors. 7-10 Expand

I was so disappointed with this title. It's basically unplayable. The grafic is not even GameCube Niveau. The controls are so touchy that its hard to drive straight. And the framerate drops down a lot that you ask yourself how to play this game. Furthermore the difficulty is very high, so with all this flaws you cant meet what is required.

WRC has landed again this year with its latest incarnation also on the Ntendo handheld console, not without some, sometimes chronic, flaws.

WRC 9 is representative of what happens when development teams are stretched too thin and care little about the platform they are developing for. Here’s to hoping this is a one-off and we see a return to form soon.

All in all, WRC 9 is the best rally experience you can have on the Switch, and up there with the best racing games. With a generous career mode, countless rallies, and great driving, it’s pretty hard to fault its core. But every visual concession made to get it onto the Switch means that every race is much harder. Trees flickering and shadows dropping right out of nowhere make it hard to actually see what’s going on. And that’s pretty important when you’re travelling at speed.
