This is good challenging fun and reminds of a game called Lemmings on the Amiga without quite hitting the same heights really.

Great price too for this puzzle game.

This is one of the best indie games on the Nintendo Switch if you love puzzles this is refreshing game to buy with it only being $9.99 it's a bargain. This game really uses the Joy Con functionality well so if you like the joy cons you'll be using the joy cons for this a lot. I mean this game has won awards aswell so it's clearly one of the best indie games.

World of Goo is known to be one of the finest offerings that WiiWare offers, and is featured on many Best Of lists, but how does it still hold up with a fresh release on the Switch? Turns out pretty great.

A few control options are available to choose from in World of Goo. You can use a Joy-Con to point and click just like a Wii Remote, and even play cooperatively with a buddy. You can use this method playing in docked mode or tabletop mode. I personally like playing it on my lovely HD TV.

World of Goo is a physics-based puzzler about building towers and bridges out of gelatinous critters, Little Inferno is an avant garde affair about a child ordering goods only to burn them in a fireplace in order to stay warm, and Human Resource Machine is puzzle game about programming and productivity in an uncaring corporate machine.

Overall, World of Goo is a fun puzzle game and a great addition to the Switch eShop, great multiplayer and gameplay you'll enjoy.as I said if you love puzzle games then this a game you can't miss out on.

Word of goo, nothing more, nothing less. The same game we have been able to play on every pc, console and cellphone since 2008.

    Entertaining? Sure, but nothing new

This is very interesting Indie-game. This is one of the first Switch Indie Games and anounce very many Indie Games, even better than World of Goo, but World of Goo has got awesome Idea and realisation too, isn't story and funny gameplay, because you must build the bridge, which the Goo-ballons and on deal this is wonderful. World of Goo is known for being one of the forefathers in the indie craze, and the game holds up extremely well, but after almost 10 years on the market this game really needed an overhaul that it doesn't get in this port. It uses the same wonky controller functionality that it did on the Wii and Wii U where you point your controller at the screen, click a button, and then have it "centered" based on where you were pointing. Luckily, the Switch has a much better controller then the previous Nintendo entries with the Joy-Con, but you have to almost continuously re-center the game in order to keep the pointer where you want it. That is my biggest issue with this port. Otherwise, it is still a super fun and interesting puzzle game, that I have loved since it first came out. This game is a classic in the indie realm, and I love having it available to me still to this day, but the game definitely needs to better utilize a new control scheme. This is the same control scheme used by all the Tomorrow Corporation games, but the problem with this one is that there are puzzles that require you to do things quickly and accurately, and when you have to constantly re-center the pointer it can get frustrating. This game is a 9 with a perfect control scheme, but this feels like they plugged the old Wii version into a Switch emulator and hit play. Disappointing, but worth a play for first timers to this game. Otherwise, just keep playing it on your PC or mobile device as most gamers have probably bought this one before. Expand

world of goo is a fun and original 2d flash animation puzzle game.
    nothing more than that.
definitely not better than Xenoblade Chronicles 2, dont let the ratings fool you. i have to give this game a very low number, just to compensate all the overratings.. sorry. my honest rating would be just a 7. maybe a 7,5. but not more than an 8. i give it a metacritic 4 out of 10. to

I absolutely loved playing this game again, and I feel comfortable saying that this is the definitive version of World of Goo. I played through on the original Wii, tried the demo on a tablet, and on a friend's PC. I still feel that the pointer controls of the Wii and Switch are the most intuitive and satisfying. I find that using a touch screen gets cumbersome, since you obscure your view of the goo when you hover your finger. While using a mouse on PC is probably the most precise, I think it loses some of its relaxing, contemplative charm. The one negative I would agree with the switch version, is that you have to 'recenter' the pointer pretty often. But I'll take that over having to set up a 'sensor bar'. It also adds touchscreen control, for those who feel the need. Expand

Great price for a great game. I remember playing this on my mom's PC and loving it, after realizing that this game was only 10$ made me easily buy it. If you love puzzle games or are looking for a good game to play, get this, you won't be disappointed.

Gorgeous game. It seems to be very simple, but due to the fact that it is not like any other game I know, I really liked and carried away. If you haven't played it yet, I recommend it!

I’ve purchased about 50 switch games, physical and digital, and this was my worst purchase. Maybe World of Goo has some nostalgic value for gamers that played it when it was originally released. What I got was a very dated game graphically, in the way that PS1 games don’t hold up today as good as SNES games. But, worst than that was that the joycons had to be continuously re-centered. And I have patience for a game flaws if the game is fun otherwise, trust me. You know how many text boxes I clicked through in my 250 hours of Animal Crossing? Don’t get this game unless you’ve already played it and loved it enough to put up with this awful port. Expand

Not much of a puzzle game guy unless the game is REALLY different. I thought this would be good, seeing as how I loved Little Inferno, but it's just not my thing. I'm giving it a 7, but I barely played it. It's well designed and everything, and it seems good, tho.

World of Goo is a game with an excellent concept, held back from greatness by its limited scope and inaccurate control schemes. More levels, a proper ultimate goal, or even a good control scheme could've boosted this game out of middle-of-the-road territory - but as it stands, that's right where it sits.

World of Goo makes its arrival on the Nintendo Switch and almost ten years after its debut on the Wii, the game has not lost any of the quality that made it a reference for puzzle games. World of Goo's magnificent production values, where its rich visuals and remarkable soundtrack are key, its gameplay mechanics that follow the laws of physics and the amount of content make this a game that clearly stands out above its competitors, even in a segment as large as puzzle games made by indie developers.

I'm seriously impressed, and so much so that I'm excited for the possibilities of other old Wii titles making encore appearances on Switch thanks to this single, indie-crafted proof of concept! [Issue #27 – May/June 2017, p. 23]
