    I picked this game up as a whim simply because of the box art. I had never heard of it, nor knew of its existence until I saw it at my local game store. I knew nothing going in and I'm glad that I didn't. Unlike most games I play, I know something about them before playing and in some ways that shapes how I feel. Characters, plot, design. Something. That isn't the case with WILL. FromI picked this game up as a whim simply because of the box art. I had never heard of it, nor knew of its existence until I saw it at my local game store. I knew nothing going in and I'm glad that I didn't. Unlike most games I play, I know something about them before playing and in some ways that shapes how I feel. Characters, plot, design. Something. That isn't the case with WILL. From the start I was drawn in by the letters written to the amnesiac God and her dog. So many people, each unique and inspiring. Sometimes they were silly requests that you'd say "really? You're asking for help for this?" But then things can take a dark and dangerous turn and you suddenly realize that asking God is the only real solution. The God herself is re-learning what she apparently forgot how to do, but the more you play, you start to get suspicious and wonder if her amnesia really was an accident or if there was more to it. Or maybe you're just looking for clues that don't really exist because you're so engrossed into the role of helping the humans! I found myself laughing, being excited, and drawn in. While other times I was shocked, felt and sympathized with the things the characters were feeling. To say "emotional roller coaster" is an understatement. There are points where the story is not for the faint hearted. The descriptions, while not extremely vivid, do give enough of a mental picture to understand and piece together exactly what is going on in a scenario. Death, abuse, even something that is considered taboo. But aren't all the best stories routed in the "life isn't perfect" fashion? In my opinion, if you enjoy reading and drama and soap operas, you should give this game a shot. While it isn't perfect and can sometimes be extremely convoluted, it's still worth it to read and experience. I have never played a game like this and now that I have, I hope to find more and give them a try too.… Expand

    The premise and game design is phenomenal, but the execution stumbles now and then. I'd love to see it used again in a longer, more fully-fleshed out sequel.

    I picked up WILL: A Wonderful World at the recommendation of a friend, and I don’t regret doing so. It’s an incredible title in many respects, with characters and storylines that stay with you and a surprisingly heartfelt twist in the overall plot late in the game. I wouldn’t say it is for everyone, given the topics it covers, but those willing to move past that will discover a VN that makes them pause, feel things, and honestly think about the state of the world around them. Seeing how all the characters’ stories connect in such big and small ways to one another, and just how it all comes together in the end, is a truly memorable gaming experience. At its core, WILL: A Wonderful World is a story about potential and continuing hope, even in the face of horrible and traumatic adversity. That is a message we could all use.

    WILL: A Wonderful World is a game that stands out for its story, the complexity of its plots and how they unfold. It is a great title at the narrative level, although some more playable mechanics are missing.

    WILL: A Wonderful World is a solid addition to the Switch’s undersupplied library of visual novels. The core text moving mechanic is surprisingly engaging, but the consistent focus on some of humanities worst aspects gets a bit much after a while.
