May 12, 2026If you want to do well in Wax Heads, you need to pay attention to the people, writing, art, and music around you. There’s a line in the tutorial that suggests “records are like puzzle boxes,” and that’s very true. You never know when taking the time to actually look at the LP itself or investigate the back notes could result in finding exactly what the customer is looking for. Which, in turn, makes the experience all the more satisfying for you as a player.

May 12, 2026The music store atmosphere is preserved and the artistic style is great. Also the music isn't neglected and the need to recommend albums can keep you interested in the world... Except that nothing here matters, and you have no influence over what happens. Repetition quickly creeps in.

May 12, 2026Wax Heads is one of my favorite narrative-driven puzzle games in years. I hope the developer adds in an endless mode so I can just boot Wax Heads up and spend more time in the world. It makes me wish some of the bands in-game were real, but at least I can keep listening to the soundtrack and think of my time in Repeater Records.
