Hitbox is insanely too big and there's ZERO hitbox detection. Players are pretty much pinned to the lower 1/3 of the screen due to the fact that enemies will randomly spawn on the top 2/3 of the screen...in a vertically scrolling shmup on a device with a horizontally wide screen. The Hanako stage feels very unbalanced compared to the other stages, and the final Mee-Sun stage is an absoluteHitbox is insanely too big and there's ZERO hitbox detection. The finger or stylus tracking in "One Finger Mode" constantly gets off centered and there is zero calibration. Also, there are also NO continues in ANY of the game modes (including Arcade Mode) and players only have ONE LIFE, so if the player dies at any point in the game they have to go through the entire game all over again; all 8 stages, each with 6 waves. The game isn't incredibly long, but with 8 stages it is too long for this type of game without continues or lives. It gets boring, FAST.

I can only recommend playing this for the obvious fan service aspects, and even then I'm sure there are plenty of other options out there...just maybe not on the Switch.

    HARD, HARD PASS.

The fanservice is nice but after maybe just 30 minutes it was already starting to feel repetitive and it doesn't help that the game crashed on me at least six times while my three hours of playing. $7 is fine but I honestly think it should be maybe $4 to $5

Fantastic game. It knows its audience and its audience will love it. Outside of that, it's not going to do much for others, pretty generic shmup.

The switch version only has boobs, but it's still progress so support it! It's very important that Nintendo becomes a man of culture.

Both the shooting aspect, as well as the naughtiness on offer is just... ok. While there's nothing terribly wrong with Waifu Uncovered, it's just a very average shmup, with the sexy art not managing to leave a lasting impression. There are much better alternatives out there for both.

I’m sure it will please its target audience but for me, Waifu Uncovered is a simple, functional yet characterless shoot ‘em up that rewards the player with lewd images that are far too stereotypical. There’s less than 3 hours of content in the game across all 3 game play modes and you’ll have to work to get to play on the game’s best mode, “One Finger Mode”.

Waifu Uncovered has a laser-focused target audience and it caters perfectly to that audience. If you fall outside of that demographic, how much you’ll enjoy this game will depend entirely on your receptiveness to hand-drawn, mildly lewd pinup-style art and puerile humour coupled with solid shoot ‘em up action. It perhaps lacks a little longevity besides chasing high scores on the online leaderboards — but if you’re looking for a quick fling with an affordable game you don’t have to think too hard about, this is a great palate-cleanser for when you’re between more substantial experiences.
