Alpecher, a small country in Western Europe. Surrounded by the sea and the flowers of black calamity on all sides, humans in this country are born with a "curse of death" that will lead to death by the age of 23. A country fascinated by the god of death.

The people lament and resist their short-lived destiny. And after many years of research, they created a system; abandon the dying body by the age of 23 and keep only the memory alive- "Download memory".

People who live forever through "memory downloads" are called "relivers" and continue to resist short lives.

At the same time, there was a girl called "Grim Reaper" because everyone involved became unhappy. The moment the girl who mourns her life tries to end her life, a mysterious man who claims to be the "keeper of death" appears in front of her.

It is the one game like this that reminds us that games are an art form. The only question is whether you’re looking to experience a true work of art, or have a bit of fun. If you fall into the latter camp, stay well away.

The lack of ability to choose specific affection levels through the flowchart is a small price to pay for reaching the Salvation endings. Virche Evermore perfectly encapsulates feelings of despair and hope not only through its dark subject matter, but through its phenomenal foreshadowing and focus on bad endings before the good endings become available. While death reminds us of the life that preceded it, the endings of Virche Evermore -ErroR: Salvation- always harken back to content in the routes, the many twists and turns required to reach its endings, and it makes the anguish felt along the way worth it.

Virche Evermore ~ErroЯ:Salvation skillfully blends a tragic story with unconventional romance. It’s not without its flaws, as the forced bad endings and the lengthy common route can be a minor inconvenience. However, the heart-wrenching ending route is so mesmerizing that it makes it worthwhile, provided you have the emotional resilience to endure the bad endings.

After going through a few Virche Evermore -Error: Salvation- routes, I feel like this is a Switch otome that could appeal to those who enjoyed games like Code: Realize or Piofiore and want something even more mature. It’s a darker and more visceral tale where it feels difficult to earn that happy ending. However, it is incredibly graphic and violent, which could turn some people looking for love off. What is here is intriguing, but it is a lot and not for everyone. Especially since the good endings are so walled off.

If you fancy an evening of blood, madness and handsome anime men, give Virche Evermore a whirl. The lack of player input remains a sore spot for me, but this is an excellent example of the genre, especially if you're a lover of horror.
