Jan 28, 2026Viewfinder provides a visually appealing, aurally relaxing environment in which to work through some very clever puzzles; the way you get from A to B is a really nifty twist. If you like the “wander around and figure things out” kind of puzzle game, I can give this one a hearty recommendation.

Nov 26, 2025It would be well worth your time to focus on this unique puzzler. Exploring a colourful simulation by manipulating the world around you through photographs, Viewfinder is a relaxed, compelling experience that stands out for its visual style and unique puzzle design. It's a journey worth taking, despite being hampered by the lower performance of the Switch 1.

Dec 31, 2025Viewfinder is a puzzle game that treats us to an original gameplay mechanic based on altering reality with pictures so we can advance to the next chapter and to the next level. Captivating and with a fair difficulty curve, it does not try to overwhelm us with punitive difficulty or over the top antics, but it does a very good job at keeping us interested in what we’ll have to do next. Viewfinder is a very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue, despite its late arrival compared to the original release date.

Nov 26, 2025Viewfinder is a fun puzzle game bogged down by its ambitions. I loved the way in which the game uses the gameplay to speak for itself. At the same time, whenever the characters started speaking I was kind of turned off by the experience. The Nintendo Switch version runs fine enough, but can have a bit of a hard time with the framerate and loading of stages. For puzzle game die-hards, especially fans of Portal, The Talos Principle and Superliminal I’d recommend Viewfinder in a heartbeat. But if you’re hoping to find something beyond that incredible viral video, I’m afraid that Viewfinder will not be able to change that perspective.
