Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 leaves a lot to be desired and appears to have been released in an early access state, but that was not the case. I encountered an unjustifiable amount of bugs at launch, such as characters sinking into the ground, null and non-existent characters appearing out of nowhere in the student list and messing up (I even managed to get him to graduate), UIValthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 leaves a lot to be desired and appears to have been released in an early access state, but that was not the case. I encountered an unjustifiable amount of bugs at launch, such as characters sinking into the ground, null and non-existent characters appearing out of nowhere in the student list and messing up (I even managed to get him to graduate), UI elements that covered up important information; and confirmation prompts that don't exist, but are extremely necessary in some situations to prevent you from accidentally pressing a command. Gameplay-wise, the overall gameplay loop gets boring after a few hours, and the RPG mechanic is pretty flawed as it doesn't encourage the player to use the entire party. As for the management system, a lot of manual actions are required when they shouldn't be, making everything a lot more tedious than it was probably intended to be. Finally, bad animations, sound design, and related things also lack polish. Expand

The biggest issue with Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 right now is the general bugginess of it. If it gets some fixes, I’m sure it will settle into that same niche the first game did. Not that interesting for simulation fans, nor all that exciting for RPG fans, but for those who feel like dabbling in a low-impact version of both put together, it’s okay. It’s too bad it isn’t more than that, because the concept is really good and a sequel is ideally where things ought to come together.
