So much fun! I feel like they could make a sequel with those characters. It wasn't super long but I know I missed tons of dialog based on who I put in my party for certain missions. The voice acting was excellent although some dialog was either recorded very loudly or the way the game engine mixes it with other sounds was causing the resulting sound to peak quite often. Maybe it's an issue on the Switch version. The story was great. I could praise many individual points but I don't want to spoil anything so I won't. The graphics were nice, very reminiscent of old point-and-click adventures. The difficulty is very easy but that's not a complaints because I get easily bored by hard adventure games that need a lot of trial and error or backtracking. This needed neither and was perfect for me. I think I only checked a walkthrough once, to find what I had to do around the banana tree because I was impatient.

In terms of stability, it crashed once during my playthrough but the autosave was very recent so no problem. It also crashed one more time after the end credits of one of the endings when I somehow managed to bring up a menu to "focus on..." (if you've finished the game you know what I'm talking about) and somehow managed to select "focus on nature" and the game crashed because it tried to draw the you-know-who on top of the credit screen with their head being at the bottom. I though it was an easter-egg but maybe the game bugged out. :-D

Oh and try it with touch controls.

My favorite modern point and click. Writing is top notch, and puzzles are superior to most similar games. Certain other aspects such as the user interface seem good rather than amazing. Looking forward to other games from them.

Back in the day there was more representation than this, with adventures featuring everything from police work to medieval fantasy, but within the current indie adventur-aissance there isn’t typically oxygen for titles that don’t embrace humor. The darker and more grim nature of Unavowed is thus pretty refreshing, not necessarily lacking in humor, but certainly having it play a back seat to supernatural characters and circumstances, and sometimes some pretty disturbing circumstances you’ll need to work your way through. I will say that I find the mechanics of the interface to be a bit quirky with a controller, and perhaps it would best be played using the touchscreen but that isn’t to say it’s in any way unplayable, just that there are plenty of competitors that do it better. If you’ve been itching for something that’s a bit different and surprising, but still retains some familiar elements of a classic adventure, Unavowed should definitely be considered for your list.

10/10 always seems like it's been given without thought but this game deserved it. In short, this game is well worth the money, it's extremely enjoyable, the story completely immerses you and is very original and you will want to play to the end to see how it all wraps up.

Short but a solid point and click adventure game. memorable and full developed characters and funny story. This is exactly what I expected from the developers of the blackwell series.

It's no exaggeration to call Unavowed one of the most replayable point-and-click adventures the genre has seen. The sheer amount of decision making available to the player - from which characters participate in the plot to the protagonist's whole backstory - keeps every playthrough fresh. Although there isn't much in the way of demanding puzzle-solving, puzzles themselves have multiple solutions and the story can branch in different directions depending on who's in the party. In-game actions and dialogue options also have consequences, granting the plot a real sense of weight. Topped off by excellent atmosphere, a tight script, and great performances, Unavowed might just be Wadjet Eye Games' best work.

Unavowed is easily one of the best adventure games ever made. The story and characters are fantastic, the visuals immaculate, and the puzzles unique and inventive. Wadjeteye games are always good, but they’ve set the bar pretty high with this adventure.

There really isn’t anything bad to say about Unavowed. It’s one of the most confident adventure games released in a long while. It shows that developer Wadjet Eye have a keen understanding of not only narrative structure, but of the adventure genre as a whole. If you’re looking for an earnest, fully-realised adventure game that harkens back to the genre’s roots, while also putting deftly-written, three-dimensional characters at its forefront, then look no further.
