I just game-gasmed to all this nostalgia. This game plays great, and now with the modern controller it is infinitely more fun. To anyone who has played this before and loved it, I highly recommend it. To anyone who liked it, but is afraid to get it cause who knows how the controls are? The controls are great, get it.

Now, bring the rest of the Turok games from the N64 over, so we can

I was in high school when the original came out and this is a great way to recall the good ole days. I noticed some acute differences with this version one of which is it's much much more difficult. In a sense, it's like seeing if you're as good as you remember being at gaming. Best soundtrack to any game. Ever. Long live the Campaigner!

It’s gud. Real gud. Like doom but not. Fun platforming. Above average combat.

    It's a joy to run back through this vintage adventure. [Issue #48 – September/October 2020, p. 24]

Turok's remaster for the Nintendo Switch brings one of the first Nintendo 64 classics to the contemporary age and for a game that is over twenty years old, the work done here is competent and well executed and it improves on some key aspects that needed to be updated. While this does not intend to reinvent the game, this remaster can both appeal to fans of the original game and to those curious about the early days of console first-person shooters.

Turok has aged quite a bit, which is natural. Therefore, it’s not going to be for everyone. A 22-year-old FPS never will, because it’s a genre that has moved on massively over time. However, for those that want a blast from the past, you will still love it just as much as you did back then. If you have never played Turok before and you want to experience a game that genuinely advanced the shooter genre when it first released, while you are obviously not going to feel the same love for it, you will still have tons of fun as it is still a very enjoyable shooter.
