    This game absolutely nails both the feeling of speed and bike handling physics. It's not an easy feat to pull off and in the first few hours you'll crash..... A lot! Stick with it though and soon the rewards come. Nailing a 6th gear, 170mph, sweeping corner only inches from a stone wall gets the heart racing and the hands sweaty.     I am a big fan of sim racers, games like the Gran Turismo, Forza, Ride, and Dirt series have gotta be easily my most frequently played games. I have a passion for motorsport and motor vehicles and I love to check out every racing game that comes along. Naturally I was drawn to TT Isle of Man, it has been one of my favorite motorsport activities to watch and the whole concept of the Isle ofI am a big fan of sim racers, games like the Gran Turismo, Forza, Ride, and Dirt series have gotta be easily my most frequently played games. I have a passion for motorsport and motor vehicles and I love to check out every racing game that comes along. Naturally I was drawn to TT Isle of Man, it has been one of my favorite motorsport activities to watch and the whole concept of the Isle of Man track is simply amazing. Think Nurburging on a bigger scale and the backdrop of scenic UK style backroads. There are other tracks in this game but this epic 37 mile track is easily one of most impressive you can find in a racing game and it dominates the experience.

    So this game has a lot going for it based upon the setting alone, but I am sure you are wondering how good it is to actually play and how good it looks in action. The gameplay is spot on, they went after trying to simulate the TT Isle of Man competition and I think they succeeded. All the professional riders that compete in the event are represented here with their bikes, a variety of 600 and 1000cc sportbikes, all tuned and presented in a way that reflects the real deal. The control feels accurate and you can get a real feel for the bikes you are riding, an experience that is well aided by the fantastic HD rumble feedback they implemented.

    As for the graphics, I am very impressed. I happen to also own this game for the Xbox One X (I bought it on the Switch because I would like to play it on the go as well) and I played the games on both consoles back to back to see how the Switch version stacks up to the beautiful Xbox One X version. To my surprise when I played the game docked it didn't feel like the graphics downgrade was that big of a deal, and it is an impressive handheld experience. The developers also do a great job of allowing you to customize the effects, letting you reduce and even turn off the motion blur (which helps make the performance smoother) as well as reduce or turn off the camera shake effect. Personally I like the way it looks with these effects turned off and the game looks remarkably smooth running in action when you do. To be honest I feel like if there is any version of this game to buy, this is it.    … Expand

    This game is completely unplayable on the Switch. The resolution is so bad that you literally cannot see the road. Every stage looks pathetic and it's basically riding blind. They could've done way better.

    Decent game in terms of content and gameplay but your experience and enjoyment will vary massively depending on how much patience you have for some of the overly sensitive control inputs and computer AI. I have found that bike choice also plays a major factor in how stable you can actually ride especially in terms of cornering ability, whereas the Honda machines appear to perform very well around the corners, the Kawasaki's and triumphs for example are completely useless and skid and drift sideways at any given opportunity. The career mode is also very challenging and I believe this difficulty is somewhat daunting and off putting for many newcomers to motorcycles. I do in fact ride a motorcycle in real life therefore the physics and handling of the bikes do feel similar to what you would expect and the timing and reaction of braking and throttle control is also very much on point, however this also makes the games inaccessible to many casual players and especially for players who are used to four wheels and not two. I usually play games like MotoGP in simulation mode, but there appears to be an option to toggle between casual arcade and SIM in most MotoGP games, whereas TT is very unforgiving and expects you to ride at the highest level each time to jump in. The AI are also inconsistently difficult, whereas you will be battling them as if it was the real TT for every inch and second in some races and then others they appear to be two minutes behind despite you not really doing that much faster than previous race, for example I beat the computer AI with a time of 14.30 on my first race of two with the comp finishing in the late 16 min region and then on the second race I couldn't keep up with the comp and they beat me with a early 14 min time. The worst aspect by far of this game is the inconsistent graphics which appear to look like something you would expect on a playstation 2 back in early 2000s. The game is constantly rendering the graphics as you play and after a lap the game appears to finally catch up and capture clearer graphics but even then they appear to be blurry and blocky and rough around the edges. The design and detail of the tracks and bikes are perfect, but the way in which the game struggles to keep up with the graphics rendering is very bad and is not something which should be released like this as a finished product, as explained earlier I've seen clearer and less blocky PS2 graphics than this. The game seemingly looks better in first person mode when riding the bikes but then takes a slight knock on performance. The game performance overall runs good but this appears down to the compromise of graphics which are still being rendered whilst you play, I do not think this is good enough quality for 2023 and I would have been very unhappy to play full price to see this, luckily, it does go on sale for very cheap these days and therefore I would recommend picking up and playing at a budget price if you are a fan of bike racing.… Expand

    As a specific and finite experience, TT Isle of Man is superbike and supersport racing at its most intense and exhilarating. There’s few tracks in the world of motorsport that are as challenging and downright frustrating as Snaefell Mountain, and even the most experienced of virtual riders will find their mettle tested. However, with a meagre career mode, few additional tracks and several issues with performance, this is a racing highlight surrounded by janky filler.

    If you’ve been waiting for a racing game that will truly test your abilities on the Switch, this is it. It doesn’t have a massive amount of content or modes, but no other game on Switch provides a similar racing experience. It’s hardcore, immersive, and certainly not an eyesore. TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge is undoubtedly the best serious racing game that the Switch has to offer right now.
