    Truck Driver isn't some revolutionary new title in the truck sim genre, and it's not trying to be one. For a console sim, and especially one for the Nintendo Switch, it looks good, runs well, and has a lot of hours' worth of content.

    ETS2 on the Switch, astonishing! Works perfectly, I'm a huge fan of the ATS and ETS2 and that's basically it. There's nothing better for theETS2 on the Switch, astonishing!     So if Nintendo did refunds similar to the way steam does it, I would have refunded after about 20 minutes. Unfortunately they don’t so I decided to play on and see how things went. I am a fan of ETS and ATS so the idea of playing a trucking simulator on the go appealed to me. My mistake was there- it’s called truck driver, not truck simulator. And for good reason. I will break this down into pros and cons, but I just want to start by saying that I was dumb enough to pay full price for this game. Pros;
    I like the idea of a story, even if it is thin and delivered via some text messages. Cons;
    Physics. I have to wonder if the devs have ever driven before. Your truck can go from 0-50 in less than 10 seconds, regardless of whether it is pulling cargo or not. It’s like the whole truck has no weight. It also has no momentum, because as I get to 30mph and release the throttle (throttle is either full or none due to the switch trigger) the truck will immediately start to slow down to almost nothing and will do so almost as fast as it gains speed. Because of this your choices are either to turn on a basic cruise control option, or tap the speed button to make the speed bounce around the speed limit. Steering is also an issue I find. Again it seems to be down to this weird weightless issue. Tilt controls. Not for me. If you aren’t sitting perfectly straight then you will be battling the truck whilst it is constantly drifting- turn it off! The graphics. Not expecting much and I guess they are OK. Not really a con but nothing to shout about- just meh. The map. Tiny. Everywhere can be reached in minutes. Driving along the same road over and over gets old very fast. Traffic lights. I’m not sure why but traffic lights will stay on red longer that most real life traffic lights I’ve ever been sat at. Such fun to be had waiting for a red light for a few minutes. I lost a few stamina bars just waiting at lights. Which bring me to...

    Stamina. Drains in about 15 minutes. It’s crap. XP and Cash. Work up x amount of XP and spend it on one of two things. Cash or XP bonus. Each getting more expensive and going up only 1% at a time. This is the worst.
    Cash can be spend on fuel, repairs or other trucks and visual upgrades. On this game it’s pointless. I have started with what seems like the most powerful truck ever built, why would I need another one. Aside from the story which is boring there is no point in progressing.


    There’s probably more things I am forgetting here, but hopefully you get the idea. This is little more than one of those free mobile games you can get on your phone. Being the only truck game on the switch is not enough of a reason to buy this. Don’t bother buying it unless it’s on sale one day for less than £1. Truck drivers, enthusiasts and non trucky folk drivers will hate this equally.    … Full Review »

    This game is the best truck driving simulator game on the Nintendo Switch at the moment. But still, I will compare its quality to the other games on the console. There are my pros and cons.
    Pros:
    - Good design of the world, especially the cities. Other truck simulator games are missing this.
    - Interesting way of getting delivery offers, it's like a storyline.
    - An adequate truck driving game with times of a day, weather, turn signals, repairing, customization, road rules and etc. all that in your portable console.
    - Good controlling and implementation of all Switch features.
    Cons:
    - The world is still pretty small, therefore the roads feel more like arcade racing roads, not like the real ones we have.
    - Bugs. The game sometimes freezes.
    - Not a lot of ways to spend your hard-earned money, therefore a lack of motivation completing the offers.
    - Not a lot of soundtracks. After 3 hours of playing, you gonna get sick of these repeating soundtracks and then turn them off.

    Conclusion.
    It's pretty cool to have such a game on your Switch, it has its good and bad sides but the price is pretty high, so you're the one who gonna decide to get this one right now or wait some time for a sale.    … Full Review »
