Amazing couch multiplayer. If you liked games like Towerfall, this is like that except with good graphics and way better physics/levels. Quite cheap and really fun. It's an easier sell for non-gamers than Smash for sure. On the flipside, like every couch "fighting" game out there, it's hard to compel Veterans if they could already play Smash instead, but maybe that's just my crew. StillAmazing couch multiplayer. The bots are competent, so you can enjoy the game by yourself, but it's a blast when you have a full party competing against each other. You have access to an extensive menu of modifiers (including presets) which add to the game's longevity and accessibility if you have willing participants, but the majority of these features are locked from the beginning. It's fun at first to unlock them as you gradually learn how to play the game, but the process later becomes a chore due to how long it takes to gain enough experience to gain "levels." The single-player "Target Test" is a bit too demanding in terms of difficulty and will likely not appeal to most gamers. If you're fine with an only local multiplayer game along the lines of TowerFall or Stick Fight, Treadnauts can still be a great addition to your lineup. Expand

A frantic title that has unpredictable moments that will fill with laughter and screams the afternoons on the couch with your friends. However, the fun disappears when one wants to play alone. Likewise, a remarkable game to enjoy in company.

Treadnauts has a lot to like about it, but the narrow focus on local multiplayer makes it a bit of a one-trick pony. On one hand, sitting down with three others to play is a blast, but on the other, it wears thin by yourself and doesn’t offer anything other than a harder-skewing time-trial target shooting mode. Get this one for your next party, but maybe don’t get it when you’re home alone.
