    Just to be clear I am a huge Torchlight fan I played the first when it came out, and the 2nd and loved them so much torchlight 2 is still one of my top 5 favorite games.

    I really wanted this for the switch for portable reasons and despite reading review after review of it be unplayable because of lag I bit the bullet and just went for it. Let's talk about some good points first. -The    Just to be clear I am a huge Torchlight fan I played the first when it came out, and the 2nd and loved them so much torchlight 2 is still one of my top 5 favorite games.

    I really wanted this for the switch for portable reasons and despite reading review after review of it be unplayable because of lag I bit the bullet and just went for it.

    Let's talk about some good points first.

    -The pet system is great I like how you can find new pets in dungeons, each pet has a special ability (spolier) for example I got a purple cat the could summon legendy pet spirits to fight for it. It adds more to an already great pet system from the previous games.

    -The new characters are really fun I have been playing the forged, robot guy, he can be melee or ranged depending on how you spec him, and he has interesting abilities. I cant wait to replay the game with each character.

    -I cant state this enough it feels like a torchlight game, plays like one, and sounds like one. Its lacking certain features however like stat building, but the soul is still there. It's what a torchlight fan would want out of, well...a torchlight game.

    Now the bad.

    -LAG! Do get me wrong it's not unplayable, but the lag should NOT be there. Torchlight 2, in my opinion, looks a little better and runs like a dream on switch no lag at all so why is the sequel laggy? It really needed more time in development before it released on switch. I really hope they fix it and from what I can see they have been trying because this game would be great without it. That is the main reason it didn't get anything higher then a 7.

    -It doesn't really explain how features work to well I found myself looking up how things function. -The resolution isn't very good I know it's on switch so the graphics aren't going to be high res which doesn't really bother me it didn't effect my score for it just thought I should put that in. I would honestly recommend getting the pc version over switch, but I wanted the portable aspect.

    -The loot while good could be better, TL2 has better loot, yet I have found some cool legendary weapons and gear though so that's nice.

    So torchlight 3 is not a bad game, not even close. It scratched my Torchlight itch, and I would always be excited for a new torchlight game. I am having a lot of fun with it, the lag sucks but it's not all the time mainly when the screen is full of enemies. It's not unplayable like a lot are saying.

    All in all Torchlight 2 is still the superior game if you dont have it on switch and are new to the franchise get that game instead wait for the 3rd one to be fixed before getting it on switch. If you dont mind mildly annoying lag, and low res graphics go for it, or just get it on pc if you have the option to I however didnt.

    If you like mobile gamez with woman that look like men, no depth and boring unsatifying combat torchlight 3 might be for u.

    So I just finished the game and here's my review. First thing after I finish the game I really had no desire to continue with the extras better afterwards. Which is not a good sign. See how this game was released a year ago I'm quite distraught by how they didn't fix the bugs in the game. It just feels like they didn't care about improving the quality. One thing that happened all the time was my pet would disappear. I would have to go back to my fort and swap out the current pet to a different pet and then re swap the other pet back in in order for it to show up. This happening over and over again was so annoying. And it looks like a bug that could have been fixed especially since the game was released a year ago. By the end it just became so boring too. There was nothing new about the game. I did like the Spells but I just was invested in it. Why couldn't you fix the bugs? And by the end of the game I just wanted it to be over. And now I'm glad it is. I like to grind but in the end of this just felt like a complete waste of time.… Expand

    Sadly, in my eyes TL trilogy kind a mimiced Diablo's fates. First - groundbreaking and genre defining. 2nd - more of the same but 1000 times better, bigger and more polished. And 3rd... kind a meh.
    But don't get me wrong - TL3 is fine - if you are new to the trilogy. And only there and then.

    Torchlight III is not a bad game, it’s just a filler, a quick fast food lunch for action RPG fans, one to play once the better games in the genre have been beaten. I feel this game is not one for replayability – once the story is done and the end game content becomes monotonous it is time to move on to something else. This might suit people who do not want to be invested in grinding for hours upon end and simply want to slaughter plenty of familiar enemies for a few hours, but for the hardcore, this will be a disappointment.

    Its gameplay mechanics are enjoyable, although a bit too unwelcoming for beginners, and its audiovisual world is good enough to be immersive. The problem is this third chapter in a series of action RPGs does little to stand out amid its peers and what was remarkable in previous years ends up feeling repetitive by now, with little new elements to add. Fans of the series who want a modern Torchlight might be pleased with what they find here but players looking for something fresh and able to stand against other modern action RPGs will end up disappointed.
