Decent little party game to play. Game involves fixing walls and floors, removing wallpaper or flooring crack filling and painting. All of these are done with the use of 2 buttons. It’s challenging because friends get in your way when trying to get stuff done but the controls are simple so although the above sounds amazing, most of it is done with either the right or upper buttons.

It’s not quite as good as overcooked as the variety is a little too lacking from level to level, there’s no sudden moving platforms or anything too crazy. It’s a lot of just painting one room, moving to the next. But if you need a game with friends or family to try during a weekend getaway or some couch gaming, it’s a good one to try.

Well, one aspect of the game that I think the developer can improve if they somehow revisit this concept again in the upcoming game is the variation of the decorations. It's somehow bland and not engaging in visual perspective. You can play around with pattern and mixing color between floor and the wall. Currently, the game is kind of predictable in their design where they match the color of the wall and the floor.

Other than that, I have ton of fun playing it and it's completely cheap on Switch including the Garden DLC. Must try if you enjoy Moving Out and Overcooked.

Tools Up! is the latest in co-op game to turn mundane jobs into a crazy and enjoyable experience designed to test friendships. With a few bug fixes and updates, it could become a mainstay in Nintendo Switch libraries.

At its core, Tools Up is very endearing in its premise, and for the most part, it works pretty well. Sadly though, the controls just aren’t quite as responsive or intuitive as you’d hope, and you’ll find yourself slipping up – quite literally in some cases – frequently. Additionally, objects in close proximity cause confusion, and you’ll often pick up the incorrect object, resulting in a lot of wasted time. Nevertheless, if you’re after an alternative to Overcooked, then Tools Up offers up enough incentive to take the plunge, even if it doesn’t quite match up.

Tools Up! isn’t necessarily groundbreaking as a party co-op title. However, even with its issues, there’s a lot of fun couch co-op to be had (and fun extras to enjoy in the late-game).
