A superb little port. Totally worth the dough, especially as there are some good prices on the physical copy to be found.

The people who complain about how "it's not as good as the PS4 version" are as loony as ever. The Switch isn't as powerful as the PS4, and everyone knows this, so expecting the Switch version of a game to be identical to the PS4 version, is like expecting a $20

You make yourself look foolish and childish by whining about Switch games not looking like PS4 games.

Tony Hawk 1+2 has to be the greatest video game I've ever purchased in my life. The attention to detail that was put into this remake is just amazing. While the telltale concessions of a Switch port are present, THPS 1 + 2 still delivers where it counts. These are two of the best games of all time, flawlessly remastered and ready to play anywhere at any time. What else can you ask for?

Half the framerate, but still full price - go figure.. and that's just the beginning of the shortcomings in this version.

The visuals are very lackluster compared to Ps4's version - which I own and really like! the controls are poor, because of the horrible joy-cons and their drift issues. I would never support a severely downgraded version of a game just because "it's handheld,

I would never support a severely downgraded version of a game just because "it's handheld, duh.." and I would implore you to not purchase either.

If you release a severely lackluster version of a game, the price should also reflect that! not even the most hardened Nintendo fanboy could possibly refute this.

Awful controls, unstable gameplay, poor menu navigation. Overall terrible on the Nintendo Switch. Why re-release/remake these levels several times? Cash grab much? I haven't experienced anything more boring and repetitive while gaming when I'm playing this game. I think I said enough already, I'm not gonna waste more time on this review. I've already put in hundreds of hours for the first two games, but what about the other predecessors that had many great reviews and scores as well. Are we just gonna toss those ideas in the trash? That would make them more money if they just re-release 3-7 (American Wasteland) from the franchise. Expand

Legitimately solid handheld port. Surprised it even runs at 30 frames on the Switch. Shadows could be smoother up close but that's about my only complaint. I own the PC version. I was pleasantly surprised by THPS on Switch.

A portable version of a remaster of the most classic skating games that still plays buttery-smooth and is incredibly addicting and fun no matter what graphical costs were had! It still looks generations past the originals at any rate.

It's a great port of a wonderful remake. This takes what's best about classic Tony Hawk and gives it a very modern vibe. The item market system is the only problem for me, but I guess that's the gaming world we live in now.

As far as the game itself. It’s a fantastic remaster of two massively popular games of their time. The gameplay is true to the roots, but loaded with tons of quality of life improvements that make this more of a modern experience. The only issue is that in the modern era of gaming, this can be a very short experience, even with both games included. Luckily, the price reflects the length of the game. Regardless they did a wonderful job bringing life back to this series and doing a full course nostalgia trip for everyone in their 30’s.

Regarding the port, as I mentioned in other Switch reviews - if you wanted graphics, then you bought the wrong console. The Switch version obviously does not look as good and the frame rate is not as good. But the game is portable, and is awesome playing it in handheld mode, especially since this is a game you pick up and play for 30 minutes and I’ll put it away. If you want 4K 60FPS, buy it on the other consoles. If you want portability, buy it on the Switch.

When you play remasters or faithful remakes of games you considered classic back in the day there’s always an element of worry. So many titles and their success are a product of their time but don’t necessarily hold up well on a modern console due to changes in sensibilities or tastes. Whatever concern I had for whether the original 2 Tony Hawk titles would still shine was quickly shattered though, and these new enhanced versions have allowed me to reconnect to a truly addictive loop of challenges and fun that so many developers since have been unable to even come close to touching. It isn’t just the tricks, it isn’t just the attitude, and it isn’t just some sort of flashiness that grabs you but fades as you settle in. The stage layout in these titles is absolutely superb, and each newly-unlocked locale will challenge you to explore, work out routes, and then sometimes painfully work to execute in order to grab every carefully-placed object in the stage. Nothing is by accident, everything is by painstaking design. Truly, if you were a fan back in the day you won’t be disappointed, and if you’ve never partaken of the experience before this is a terrific opportunity to become acquainted with two of the absolute best sports titles ever made.

Perfect. Exactly as I remember it, just prettier. Don’t like the PS4 visuals, so switch version actually feels closer to PS originals. Also perfect for on the go - do a quick run - put the switch to sleep. Perfect match of form and hardware

Easy to pick up and play, just like the original versions. Nostalgic soundtrack. Graphics are surprisingly decent on the Switch port, and gameplay matches the originals too. The best skating game on Switch (by far!).

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 on the Nintendo Switch is a fantastic port. Sure, it's graphically inferior and not as pretty to look at, but that's the only noticeable concession made to get it to run on Nintendo's beloved hybrid console. That's not to say it's being rendered in "potato mode," by the way - it still looks great for what it is, with each real-life skater clearly distinguishable despite the lower pixel count. With the outrageously impressive amount of content and extremely rewarding gameplay loop, there's nothing to stop this port being a solid recommendation for Switch owners.

Vicarious Vision’s love for this franchise is clear throughout each tour of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. Controls are precise, gameplay is addicting, there is plenty of content and really well designed levels are complemented by a wonderful soundtrack. It’s only such a shame that the Switch version does not hit the performance targeted by the series for almost two decades now.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater has found its way to the Nintendo Switch and we couldn't be happier about it. Both games lend themselves perfectly to brief sessions, which works well with this handheld console. There are some visual downgrades, yes, though as far as gameplay is concerned, the titles play as well as they ever have. Sincerely recommended.
