    Tiny Racers succeeds in being a solid racing title, especially considering that the game is only $10 on the Nintendo eShop. The game doesn’t set the racing genre on fire, but is a great game to snag for younger gamers or for those just in need of some quick and unassuming MicroMachines-style races.

    With its bouncy physics and ludicrously aggressive AI, Tiny Racer feels unbalanced at best, completely unfair at worst. This makes for one of the least fun racers around.

    Tiny Racer is a bad game. Its premise is a fairly uninspired circuit racer, its physics system is constantly failing and its design choices seem to suggest the developers knew the physics system doesn’t properly work, and yet leaned into it. It does have multiplayer, so if your friend group goes out of their way to play janky games, this could be worth a laugh over a beer or keg. But it’s not memorably bad, rarely does your car glitch so spectacularly that it creates a response. Most of the time, you’ll be placated, maybe interested in the bold course design, but also hoping to play some better racing game instead.

    Tiny Racer is an extremely hard title to recommend to anyone. The non-contact racing is fine, and if there was an option in the settings to complete races without bumping into other cars or getting flung off the course by a ramp, then this might have had more going for it. Heck, even if it threw the racing out the window, and instead became a stunt-game that focused on accruing points for performing crazy and whimsical stunts, this would've been a more enjoyable experience - but alas, Tiny Racer takes the best parts of 'yeeting' toy cars in a bedroom, and turns it into a highly frustrating digital experience.

    Tiny Racer offers nothing that you haven’t seen before or does anything special that requires you to play it. It feels like a game that was created in about a week without any attention to details or a specific goal in mind aside from ‘let’s make the cars tiny’. Honestly, it even failed in that regard. It’s been said that Nintendo allows practically anything on the Switch eShop nowadays and Tiny Racer has strengthened that belief for me.

    Tiny Racer is a painful drive. The graphics show promise, but there are so many flaws; it is hard to enjoy the ride. This is a terrible game. I’m getting out the car: I’ll walk from here.

    Tiny Racer may not be very ambitious but unfortunately, it doesn't try to be a good racing game either. Despite a good speed performance, nothing else seems to work as it should in the game, and after looking at vehicles that may look different but behave identically, the game's driving mechanics simply don't stand up to the standards that most players expect from racing games. Overall, Tiny Racer is not a worthy alternative to the other racing games on the Nintendo Switch online catalogue.

    You remember the old cartoon show from '90s Wacky Racers? This is kind a like that. You race some weird cars and vehicles on a weird maps. But its fun. Surprisingly a lot of fun. Surprising because the game doesn't have anything truly 'new' or groundbreaking. Its just solid. And has that cool syndrom of "just one more level".    … Expand
