It's based on discovery: you have to understand the mechanics of the game on your own, and you also have to unlock the clever central twist of the story. Neither will take long, as the entire game can be completed in about half an hour.

    "They Breathe" is atmospheric and creepy, and it has great audio. On the other hand, it's not much of a game. As soon as I started fighting with the clunky controls, I knew that I was looking at the console evolution of a Flash game. While the gameplay and the graphics mostly turned me off, however, sheer curiosity and the game's nightmarish atmosphere pushed me on–to the central revelation, and finally to the end of this short but interesting experience.    … Expand
