Fine short melancholic game, which gets more depressing the more you play it. Loneliness, faster flow of time, the whole feeling of swimming against the current as you age are well conveyed here. Framerate dropped signifficantly during the last part of the game, made it a bit less comfortable to play.

It's not a bad game, but it's not a good one either. Yes, it can be beautiful, charming and relaxing. But the farming mechanics get quite boring after 1h. The game is also short (3h max) and sadly repetitive.

There is some things that are not explained and that gets you confused and not necessarily enthousiast to try new things. The narrative is good and you can get stimulated to know

There is some things that are not explained and that gets you confused and not necessarily enthousiast to try new things. The narrative is good and you can get stimulated to know more about the story, but the rest of the game really doesn't help you get through it. Finally, on the switch version the font is just SO small that I had to play closer to the TV to be sure that I'd be able to read what was written. I don't get how this was left out during the port.

Again, this was wasted potential because it could have been much better, with not so much work added.

Old lady Talma's melancholic tale of utter loneliness and inevitable end does provide some tasty breadcrumbs every now and then, but as a whole, this farm sim/narrative-driven title overstays its welcome, doesn't manage to be enjoyable, and ends up being a chore that just happens to include some pretty, and mildly coloured vistas, as well as a nice calm-and-then-ominous aura.

For someone else, The Stillness of the Wind might be a lovely parable about the challenges of living out your final days after everyone else has moved on. Too few mediums highlight the experiences of the elderly, so this game deserves praise for going where few others go. Unfortunately, I found it to be a plodding and meandering affair due to its excessively slow pacing and frustratingly vague instructions, among a struggling frame rate on Switch.

Ultimately, the vestiges of Talma’s farm aren’t tragic. Rather, they’re totems that affirm her inner journey, her desire to live a life in isolation as sincerely as possible.
