Hands down, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is one of the best video game collections of all time. 13 great games (yes, including Turtles NES, a game I have no nostalgia for and I think it's a lot of fun) including platformers, beat-em-ups, fighters and a metroivania for the arcade, NES, Gameboy, Genesis and SNES. There's an incredible museum with tons of behind the scenes info, music, TMNT comics and shows, game box arts and manuals- truly top notch. Online play is avaliable only for some of the games, but it works wonderfully and due to multible versions of the same games being playable, it's understandable. This collectiob is truly worth its asking price of 40$, and J can fully recommend it. Cowabunga indeed! Expand

Unplayable online!! The lag is sooo bad with more than 1 player (3-4 is 2 frames a second).. and the online is why I bought it, to relive putting quarters into tent arcade with strangers… I’d give the game a 9/10 if it actually worked (1 minus point for no turtle in time snes online) … hopefully they fix all online issues & put turtle in time snes for online!! This collection of games is garbage, you can beat them all with 1 hand. Only good for nostalgia I guess

For longtime fans of the franchise's classic titles and new players alike, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is a must-own retro compilation that is easily the best work fro Digital Eclipse to date.

THIS is how compilation games should be made. Completely faithful to the source material and tons of content supplementing the games. That’s not to say all of the games aged well, some of the Gameboy games really don’t do much for me (and probably anyone), but they were products of their time. This collection does a great job with each game. Every game has its own separate options, it’s own separate background screen, and other separate implementation features. It’s extremely well thought out and while I won’t use a lot of the features, it’s nice that they put the care into adding them. The game really stands out with the content. It’s more than just soundtracks like other collections. This game has full box art, manuals, strategy guides, magazine ads, concept art, developer notes, comic cover scans, and much more. This is a huge tribute to Ninja Turtles. While some of the games are far from perfect by today’s standards, they are the original games from their respective times. This has the heart and respect baked into the package, and it’s not just a cheap quick money grab. This is how compilations should he done. Expand

    **** the nes game.
Turtles in time is great in the arcade and snes version.
Every other game is from good to okay.
Music is amazing, extra are best thing when you just rest from the fun.
But there no tv shows, just chip art, that ****

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is a great compilation, being its multiple configuration possibilities, its extras and its online mode its most outstanding aspects. However, it can be improved, since not all titles are at the same level and online is limited to a few games.

Getting all these titles with minimal compromise? That's awesome! Righteous! Bossa nova!. . . Chevy Nova? Or simply: Cowabunga! [Issue #62 – November/December 2022, p. 68]

In all fairness, the online mode is just a box to tick against something that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection doesn’t need. The real hook is that this particular series is something we don’t see packaged together very often – an omnibus of memories, specially tailored for fans and friends alike, who were once touched by the games and the franchise at its peak. I was lucky enough to be one of those kids, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is, without doubt, one of the most nostalgic compilations I have ever had the pleasure to experience.
