    Thinking of Byleth as a fighter choice, one word comes to mind for me: AMAZING. While the others in the first Fighters Pass are characters from third-party series that had not been represented in Super Smash Bros. before, Byleth is the protagonist of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, a game that was released last year as part of the Fire Emblem series, which now has 8 Smash fighters

    As someone who got into Fire Emblem very recently, I really like Byleth in Smash.

    In terms of gameplay, they're quite similar to many other sword fighters but the addition of the Relics adds some uniqueness to Byleth's moveset.

    And for the stage and the music, they're great as expected.

    Final Rating: "Very Good" ~ 7.5/10.

They feel like a very 'safe' choice serving to promote the aforementioned Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

    The disappointment doesn't end there, though. Whereas the others in the first Fighters Pass have some unique gimmick to them (Joker's Rebellion Gauge, Hero's Command Selection, Banjo & Kazooie's Wonderwing that can only be used a limited number of times per stock, and Terry's multiple side specials and Super Special Moves), Byleth lacks such a feature.

    However, it's not all bad news. Byleth's alternate costumes are cool references. Through Challenger Pack 5, you get access to spirits from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and three of them can be enhanced. Music from that game is also included (and is able to be played on any Fire Emblem stage), and it fits well in a fighting game.

    The included stage is one that travels through locations from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, with cameos by characters from the game. It's fine, but not particularly memorable.

    Overall, I find this to be the weakest pack in the first Fighters Pass. However, it is ultimately still good value for money.    … Expand

    This isnt gonna be a pro player review, even I have almost 21 years with fighthing game experience tough. Byleth’s movements are gorgeous, really pretty! I love fire emblem series, but didnt played 3H yet, so when byleth was announced days ago, I felt kind dissappointed. But well, if you’re a regular player, that like to play with friends, for fun, byleth will definity be a choice youThis isnt gonna be a pro player review, even I have almost 21 years with fighthing game experience tough.     At first, the thought of another Fire Emblem character arriving in Smash sorta disgusted me. I love Fire Emblem, but we already had 7 Fire Emblem representatives in Smash, all which were swordfighters. Charging 6 bucks for a Fire Emblem character also grossed me out. To be fair though, this was executed greatly. The character models are splendid, the music that came with this fighter isAt first, the thought of another Fire Emblem character arriving in Smash sorta disgusted me. I love Fire Emblem, but we already had 7 Fire Emblem representatives in Smash, all which were swordfighters. Charging 6 bucks for a Fire Emblem character also grossed me out. To be fair though, this was executed greatly. The character models are splendid, the music that came with this fighter is great, the spirits are awesome, and I really like the new map. The fighter isn't a typical swordfighter, as he has a lance, bow, and an axe. In conclusion, this is a good fighter that has good bang for its buck. Have a lovely day/night, folks!… Expand

    Byleth was the most disappointing DLC character in smash history. If I knew Byleth was going to be in DLC fighter pack 1 I’d wouldn’t of bought the pack but instead buy every other character in the pack but Byleth

    Byleth may be lacking complexity, but the easy-to-pick-up nature of their moves is still worth checking out.
